- This is a surf trip video that we worked on 1 month ago, we saw the beautiful potential on Rote Island, not only in the waves for surfing but also the nature on Rote Island is still fairly natural, hopefully Rote Island is also worthy of a good visit from within country or abroad, cheers

Hello I was 45 years old when surfed Rote from a Yacht with a group of mates, that was 30 years ago. We also surfed Ndana and sever other spots over the week we’re there. Good waves, good times. J 👍😎👣
Would be more amazing if you can make another trip and share more waves and fun time with us as a younger generation respect you legend 🙏🌊🏄♂️

@@johncowper3470 mate is Roger Blairs!I went back a few years ago and like most places in indo its been trashed and crowded no environmental considerations many people got typhoid because they dug a well for one of the losmens too close to a toilet (sandy soil),I saw chickens defrosting each night in freezers due to power cuts then being cooked!there was a Spanish run place to stay that was great but surf packed even in off season.

1981 I surfed rote we also paid a fisherman to take us to Dao Besar we surfed it we visited the island and were told we were the first whites to step on the island since WW2.

Nice you must have had great time true adventure.
I tracked solo over the iron bound range a few years later and scored solid perfect beach breaks something I'll never forget
I have been to Rote 3 times and stayed with the legend Marco's. And have spear fished with the Brazillian Chris who lives in a cave. Traveled all over the island handing out lolly pops to the kids when there were no waves; what an amazing place to explore. Surfed pretty solid double overhead Numbrella. Boa was never right when we looked at it. The fishing around Rote can be spectacular.

What a great video! Love to see locals take control of things and promote their area. It looks raw and beautiful and I would love to visit someday. Are the winds there usually onshore? And what is the best season for surf?❤️🙏much love and respect from Japan
