Love this...spent so much time in the 80s, at Wax Trax and at Medussa's...good music...fond memories...so much history there...makes me feel old, and makes me smile, too.
So sweet to see how much goodwill they even got from the licensing aspect of making the film, these guys truly had a legacy that touched so many people, so very deeply. LONG LIVE JIM AND DANNY!
i was really lucky to have grown up and around and frequented those places mentioned.. One high point was seeing the music video for coils, tainted love in one of the video rooms at Medusas on school street.. I feel like roy batty.. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. "
I wouldn't agree that much of what was released in the 80s and 90s from this label is still fresh today. It is quite dated but it still sounds better than most of the crap you hear today.
The bands were leaving and taking their catalogs with them. Sony got 242, Al took Revco and more to Ryko, TKK:Atlantic/Interscope. KMFDM were the only ones who stayed even through the TVT years. It sucked that when those bands left, all those great records were suddenly gone and oop. I can't say I blame them as they had insight that nobody else could have had about the stability of the company and the supposed self-destructive behavior going down. It's all very sad and I hope they can put some of the pieces back together and possibly rerelease some of their classic recordings somehow
They sure did a good job getting material out. Wax Trax bands was heard all over TV and radio. I thought it was just studio produced but actually bands.
@@uberalles2 Hey, I don't know the source material, but WAY back in the day, my friends were at a club in Chicago and we heard this song. It was old school House, but the DJ didn't say who performed it. If anyone in the chat can tell us who it is, that would be great.
We were dancing, I think it was at the Riviera or Metro after KMFDM during the after-show and my girlfriend at the time was like, "Johnny! That's RevCo!" Good times.

Hi. 🙂 Please, let us pray together. Dear God who art in heaven hallow be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever in Jesus Christ's name we pray amen.

Used to shop Wax Trax growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, went to all the clubs mentioned,
used to see Uncle Al running the register, great story!

Love the memories, hate the reality that those days are LONG gone and not coming back. So grateful to have experienced it all.
Wax Trax, Ministry, My Life With Thrill Kill Cult, Front242, Meduasa, The Alley, Metro, Gramaphone...
Ah, the life in Lakeview Chicago in the 80s...
Thoroughly enjoyed the film. The music lives on!!
I was one of those Wax Trax kids. Watching the mail for LPD and Front 242!
...And then Martin Atkins shows up...cool!

Everything important in life I needed to learn, I learned from Wax Trax.
Medusas was the shit! I danced there multiple times.
It was outta the house and outta the house music.
OK, I know these lyrics, but cant place it.
@@uberalles2 It's the sample at the end of "Beers, Steers and Queers."
@@johnnymidnight2982 That's it. Thanks!

If it wasn't Wax Trax I ordered from back in the day, it was ROIR. Loved both of those companies.
There was a House scene.

Um, huh? Unsure if this was meant to be funny/ironic, or posted by a confused Christian... sadly suspect the latter.
