Based on having spent a quarter of his life drifting, one might say Vaughn Gittin, Jr.s name is synonymous with the popular sport. Indeed, Vaughn has enjoyed a strong relationship with both Falken and Ford, showing the world the capabilities of his powerful Mustang, crushing the throttle to reach maximum power while keeping his car in control on his Falken Azenis RT-615 tires.
In late 2008, Vaughn drifted the streets of downtown Los Angeles for the Bosch performance art promotions, and just recently jetted off to Japan, where he drove a Falken Tire Shod 2010 Mustang across the country, making key stops at world renowned tracks such as Ebisu and the YZ circuit.
The combination of Team Falken, Vaughn and Ford has realized many epic moments including two historic D1 Grand Prix wins. First, at U.S.A vs. Japan and a repeat at D1s World Championship
In addition to his international travels, Vaughn recently treated NHRA drag racing legend John Force to the drift of his life (some witnesses went so far as to say ride of his life) as part of Barrett-Jacksons drifting experience at the auctioneers recent event in Scottsdale, AZ, and took multiple road racing champion Tommy Kendall on a test drive for SpeedTV, both riding in his brand new 2010 Falken Tire Ford Mustang.
While drifting is just the latest talent Vaughn has developed behind the wheel, hes had the speed sensation for a long time. Since I was born, I have lived and breathed cars, he declares, asking his namesake to do fishtails and burnouts the way other dads drive their children around the block to soothe them. I have always loved the feeling of the back end skating around, engine screaming and tires smoking, he adds, which ultimately led him to choose a career in motorsports. Moving from motocross to drifting paid off quickly, and Vaughn rose to the top of the field. He caught the eye of Falken Tire who in 2004, was eager to expand their drifting efforts and take the U.S. drifting scene by storm. The rest, as one says, is history, and Vaughn has become a key part of Falkens extensive commitment to this exciting sport, both in the U.S. and internationally. His new 2010 Ford Mustang featuring state-of-the-art technology, is set for an exciting 2009 schedule as the centerpoint of Team Falken, ready to meet and once again, conquer the competition.
He’s come so far, and achieved so much. What an inspiration!
First time i ever saw drifting, it was this car, this livery. Tks for this
Man that engine sounded like a monster.
yessss hear that sound of the mustang!
Now wait a freaking second,,,,,,,,did I just see a Mustang turn?!!?!?!
Vaughn Gittin, Jr is my new favorite drifter since ryan hampton isn't there no more
listen to that beast go...
plus, vaughn's mustang always have a huge angle when he's drifting.
Great Video, american drift style
Power is achieved in two ways RPM and torque, a big bloc V8 will have much higher torque than a small block v6 so you can still get a lot of wheel spin. I don't know much about drifting but breaking the tires loose is all about high torque
valla pasada de drifting, el mustang ademas es una pasada, al igual ke el 350Z .
whats the name of the music?
Watching this baked, couldnt see it it was real life or a game up untill 0:40
who sings this song
i call this Falken TV :D lol
LIsten to tht 'stang ROAR u cant even hear the imports!! Go VAUGHN GO!
@JockerHD
@ohmyasy
Aandacht te kort?
the size of the pistons dont really matter its the weight of the piston
That brought on some wood!
i didnt know ken block is a drifter. thought he's only a rally driver?
who said mustangs can't drift???
@TurnYourBassUp ja sws !
okay you do that with a mustang, set your redline for 12k.. tell me how blowing your motor goes. if you dont add shorter pistons youre not getting it up there
dude i looked at your myspace and you look like your 12... have you heard of ken block?? hes a real drifter, which is why he doesnt do it competitively
Is it smart for a tire company to sponsor drifting? It's like saying "hey, put our tires on your car and you'll be sliding around in no time!" Just saying. Overall I thought it's a good video. Gitten is pretty damn good!
ohkay, so what youre saying a civic can drift? I dont think so. because your explanation, basically says it would be better for a front wheel drive car, to drift, which isnt drifting, its powersliding. real drift cars that would kill that mustang no matter if an 8 yr old was driving: AE86, S13, S14, S15, STi, skyline, s2000. what do all those cars have in common? there weight ratio is 50/50. there stock gear ratios are PERFECT for driting.
@AnApOdATiMoNiA the new mustang can do everything. it took first this weekend in Grand Am series road racing where they race BMW and Porsche as well. the mustang beat both of those manufacturers.
btw, real drifters in japan, will REFUSE to do it professionally. professional drifters in japan, live in america, they just represent there home country.
dumpert!
cams and valve springs, thats all u need for high rpms...foo
no.drifting isnt about power. you need high RPMs. v8s cant have high RPMs because they have large pistons. you need a light car, v8s are heavy, and you need japanese set suspension. you can have a stock ae86 with a turbo, and put vaugn gittin jr in it, and hed kill this mustang if ken block was driving it. he has skill, and ford pays him out the ass.
The passenger side American flag needs it's field reversed.
lol.
the worst tires to buy. seriously check out customer complaints about these tires
yea i suppose people who can drift 1000+ hp cars have no skills at all
DUMPERT
