Side note to last comment. Must be nice to be mechanically minded and to have the facility to be able to just have an area you can work on a project like this. I couldnt imagine taking on a project like this, probably a week into it i would give up. Well done on bringing new life to the old girl :)
I think I removed about 300 cigarette butts out of my ex State Rail NPS when I got it from the auctions. There was lots of old wiring, various tracking and drivers sign in readers etc too, I thought I had them all but I removed the panel to the right of the steering column last week and found and other black box with a bundle of wiring - I’ve left that for another day. The workers had stuck random stickers to everything some of these were really hard to remove, someone had scratched their initials into the bar that goes across behind the front seats. I also have this thick brown sticky stuff that keeps appearing on the floor, its been running out of the heater for over 4 years now. I think someone has knocked a can of coke or red bull into the demister vents on the dash and the heater must be full of it. In mine I think that water on the back floor leaks round the door seals. It is satisfying to put it all back together with fresh paint,clean new mats and seat covers though!
Poor old work trucks like Suzie and yours just get thrashed by the workers. Maybe I'm guilty of the same to my work ute's. Getting my payback now 😂 Good to hear you're saving it from that life Brad!

hey kristan, at first I was getting them from aftermarket truck suppliers like Wano's but after a few average quality parts came through I get everything genuine now. it's better quality and usually only about 5-10% more expensive.
Yeh I actually just rebuilt and fitted a 2nd hand Stratos suspension seat this last week (will be a video on it coming up). I've got a 600km drive today so that will be its first real test. we'll probably leave the passenger seat standard so we dont loose the middle seat.

I think I would rip the back seats out turn it into a sleeper and put a fridge under neath for when your traveling
Do you plan to add sound deadening material to the cabbie?
Yeah, at some stage in the future we'll come back and put some in. Got too many other jobs on at the moment for those luxuries 😂
