If the W isn't equal to the Reaction force due to the fact that 'although the magnitude of the velocity is 0, but the direction isn't due to the movement of the Earth', then, can we say that our calculation in mechanics consists of a lot of uncertainties when we say, for example, 5g = R when resolving vertically? Also, is this concept of W not equalling to the reaction force in the 2016 new specification ( OCR ), i.e. would a question come up as 2 marks as an example? or, should I still continue with the idea that in a level, W always equals to the Reaction force? Sorry for asking a lot of questions, I'm just a bit confused and curious... Thanks
+Bugra Engin The reality is that W is only slightly bigger than R. (It is also more precise to say the change in magnitude of the velocity is zero) I was just looking at this one example in a lot of detail. My advice would be that for free body diagrams and any calculations you would assume that W=R.

I have so much respect for this guy. Thank you so much! All of your videos helped me for my exam
@Ashton Cade that's amazing

Hi, Sir, after studying the A2 content this year, I have now understood what you were trying to say in this video; it absolutely makes sense!
what would happen if the Weight = Reaction Forces
What about a golf ball in space?
If an astronaut throw a golf ball( or a dice)in space, did it stops floating? Or it will cruise forever/ perpetually?
It will carry on in the same direction forever, or at least until some other force acts on it (such as it crashing into a planet or something)
@@ME0WMERE no wrong answer ,it will stop( probably), did you see the experiment of spinning ball in vacuum chamber ? Did it stop ? Yes ,it stops after a while ,watch it ,
@@radinelaj3932 that's because friction was acting on it, which eventually caused it to stop
@@ME0WMERE you mean : the object in space with travel forever ?
@@radinelaj3932 I meant the spinning ball in a vacuum chamber
that tea was disgustingly too milky
lmao no it's not

So, if a car is moving at a uniform velocity, does that mean the resultant is zero??
Himath Ipalawatta That’s right.
my teacher just send us this video so she doesnt need to do class
please change those sounds
they are scary
my exam is in 10mins🤠
