Hwang Jang Lee is so fast and precise on far reaching whole movements like body 360 spins. It is so graceful, there is no loosing control from start to end. Others always lack one of the five : power, speed, precision, grace and calm. They have 2 sometimes 3 but never all five like HJL. Some of the best contenders have reasonable power, speed and calm but you can tell they're disoriented for a split second just after their technique reaches impact, they have little stability.left at that split moment and and are vulnerable to counter. HJL's graceful power makes him always fully aware of the opponent position even during his impact and just after. That's why he kicks ass against several attackers. Of course in these choreographed fights, the synchronized attack/defense is not real, but still, you can tell the true skills of each fighters. HJL is forever impressive and the embodiement of widest and highest skills in one man. Typically chinese fighters rely much more on the synchronized beat tempo of choreography than HJL. But that's the part that isn't real.

I could write pages why he should not even be considered a top expert. Remember the list of 5 essential skills. Bruce lee is a good example of having only 2 out of 5. He worked speed and power to death and has some precision but he is a failure for lacking calm mind and grace. Anybody lacking these two is a one or two strikes brawler whose mind is too high strung in passion to observe the opponent. In other words BL is a punching bag fighter you never saw him doing long complicated choreographies, only 1, 2 strikes per opponent, because he couldn't. Just like playing chess you can't win with a angry and impatient mind. Actually power and speed are less important than grace and calm, that is why old expert who no longer have speed and power are still able to defend against average opponents. Lee was a movie superstar, not a kung fu expert.
At the end of training for master title, the ,,master,, have to break some flower pods and was ultimatum prove of strength. Hwang trounces on many other school too. "Ah Coo" is (Yuen Chu). (Chan Lau) is the screw. The Chow family is smuggling goods with the Japanese. Ching Wu has an event and Hwang & his men spoil the event ? (Hmm). But not the final fight. Lots of mainly kung fu fighting & training thru out. If Fok Yuen Gap name looks familiar to some fans it was the name Leung Kar Yan and Yuen Yat Chor used in the great movie Legend of a Fighter also in Wu Tang Collections library.
