Life takes a strange and sinister turn for "killer for hire" Chi Kwan Chun after he accepts a contract from the mysterious "Golden Mask". The "mark" turns out to be Chi Kwan Chun's own brother and, after unwittingly fulfilling the contract, Chi keeps running into people who want to kill him for no apparent reason. Those that don't try to kill him seem to die themselves from poisoning. In an effort to unmask his former employer, Kwan Chun finds himself caught up in an intricate plot to kill the master of Eagle House.

It is. The level of deception, lies, lack of integrity, false alliances, sucking up, betrayal, back stabbing, distrust is indeed what you see in higher institutions. Description is right on the mark ! Match names with faces: "Tien Hoi" (Chi Kuan Chun) is really named "Lun Chun Sun". He was using his brothers name that he accidentally killed. "Sho Pang" is (Champ Wang). The Thief "Lee San" is (Chai Kai). Mr Chow is (Yu Chung Chu) & his daughter is "Shoo Shoo" (got that name 45 min into movie)."Sho Ying" is (Tung Wei). Master "Lu Chin Chen" runs Eagle House. 1st hour has a whole lot of fighting, then becomes a murder mystery, then back to fighting. Overall a fast paced good fighting film. Commenters agree !

I watched this movie when I was a little boy in Vhs cassette. As it was in Chinese language couldn't understand head or tail except enjoying fights. Today rewatched again in English to find out the Suspense and enjoyed it once again. Nostalgic feeling.

Sound track for the boss fights is quite ill. It came up, same sound in Jimmy Wang Yu's return of the Chinese Boxer. I love that tune.

A good movie with gripping characters, magnificent outdoor and temple locations, restaurant, fast paced scenes follow without any dull moment. Some locations are well researched, some artful shooting point of view, and a plot that starts strong with Chi Kuan Chun strong lead. As the movie goes, the movie plot gets even more complex and the viewer is left wondering until the end. The screenplay writer went into great length to open as many as possible question marks and giving nothing away. At the end, when it starts to unfold, it as if Chi Kuan Chun does not matter much to the plot anymore. The plot is very elaborate and stands o its own feet as if taken from a mystery book and adapted to the screen. It gets a little bit out of hand at the hand with the golden mask becoming several people, maybe it's a bit too clever for a kung fu movie. Overall it's a good movie but the end part isn't as great as the build up suggests.

A good movie. With lots of action. But the ending was horrible. The storyline could have been much better. Worthwhile watching though. Seen better ones.

This is terrible movie, but I am enjoy to watch it.
I wonder what happened to the cast of this movie, because 'ol girl that Tung Wai has been rejecting since his training scene by the river is FLY(70s style...yeah). She's probably about 63 by now, assuming that she was somewhere around 17 at this time.
