@@trmp9923 i wish i had discovered them earlier and felt the hype of this place will become your tomb before it came out. One ot my favourite albums. Now i get to feel it with their new album but there's something about their second that i just LOVE.
same dude! i've been listening for around the same time as you. always wondered why it took so long for people to find them. i'm glad they're getting the recognition they deserve now :)
The real levitations for me happen at the start of the bridge in Telomeres, the start of the second chorus in Calcutta, and the drop into the second chorus in Vore
Part two hurray. I've listened to every song including covers since the last vid and its so hard to find an absolute favorite song because just every song is amazing
Funny coincidence is he's doing the same pose as the figure on the cover of This Place Will Become Your Tomb at 0:20 well, almost, the arms are a little lower.
UM?? THEY HAVE A COVER OF "IS IT REALLY YOU"??? Which i only found a month or so ago but discovered Loathe is one of my new all time favorite bands???? That one!???
Quite possibly one of the most overrated bands I have ever heard. These vibrato laden vocals are too much. It is very obvious they are all talented and instrumentally they are great and even some vocal parts are honestly beautiful (the chorus and last soaring vocal in The Summoning). But yeah, his voice is not for everybody and I feel like one of the only people who hated the end of The Summoning. For some reason people went gaga, but hearing that mainstream pop/mildly funky end mixed with vocals that I have heard a thousand times before (be your man, turn you on, make a good girl bad), I just kinda felt like, whats the big deal here? It's just not a fusion I look for or desire in a band, particularly in this genre.
Completely fair opinion, the vocals are very much an acquired taste but personally I think the vocals are an amazing break from the current trends of modern metal vocalists. Obviously the band still follow trends like lower tunings, the occasional screams and such, but the layers put into their sound offers infinitely more than most stuff that's gotten traction in the last ~5 years. I appreciate that their vocalist incorporates more soulful and pop influenced elements into his parts rather than just doing low growls like most other vocalists. No disrespect to that vocal style of course Im all for nasty lows but there's just a different feeling from the clean vibrato he provides where someone would normally expect a low scream or something.
@@ball96 yeah I have some friends that share the same feelings, and I have heard some of their older work as well, which I will say had some cool vibes. Vocalists tend to make or break it for me though, and alas, I just can't truly get into them. I will say Invent Animate is one of my favorite bands and I can hear maybe some inspiration from Sleep Token here and there in their newest album, but his vocals are far more my style. Ever listened to them?
