For throws, the [both] tag is used when a combo or move can be used off of both a forward and back throw. The 'xx' notation in move strings shows that you are canceling a normal move into a special move.
SNK really dropped the ball for Ukyo starting at Samurai Shodown 3. You can't follow up the Heavy Slash or Crouching Heavy Slash (Near) with After Image Slash, that was the go to move in Samurai Shodown 2. Also the trhrow mechanics starting in Samurai Shodown 3 was adopted for the future releases and it sucks.
Really dissapointed with ukyo in this game. Where is his hard slash at long range? He has lost in this version his strong basic attack, which was in all the other games from the first to the sixth.

I'm basically dissapointed that they removed the gore
What controller is the best to play it?
Typically I use a hitbox controller if I'm playing. But any input device you are comfortable with using.
