Wow! Gareth wasn't the only thing reborn. So was the grass 9:48 - 10:20 😂
Now it needs slicks and an LSD diff..
dandel351 lmao if it had slicks, I wouldn't turn? It isn't a drag car
Umm.. look under most race cars... they use slick tyres on all four corners of the car mate. I don't follow your answer.
dandel351 those are race radials. Slicks are meant for drag racing.
Look I think we got our wires crossed here. I never meant anything about Drag Racing. If I wanted you to fit drag racing stuff I would have suggested DRAG Slicks and skinnie's and dropping out that fancy IRS for a solid axle and a 4-link drag suspension...
What I meant was a set of track day slicks mounted on a separate set of rims you could fit when in circuit race mode. The 330d would make a crappy drag car anyway. All the best Alec!!
Higher profile tyres would be the biggest improvement in grip. Low profile tyres don't have much give in them and the road contact area isn't very good, which is why TopGear were going backwards when they were tuning the Renault Avantime.
Nice series 👍 Awesome to see the progress. Also maybe use a longer track next time 😋 And a timing system
This has been a great series. Thanks guys, keep up the good work.
top speed run... on the way to the Nürburgring?
Same as standard they've not changed the gear ratios
4:36, God opening his window cuz he has to keep an eye on you now
Funny - Those wheels kind of grows on you. I used to think they were ugly. Now they look badass! :D
I've really enjoyed the series Cheers!
Fifteen52 make some funky wheel designs... BUT put the Fifteen52 Turbomac on the right car and they look out of this world awesome. I think they look great on a '90s boxy hatchback and best on a Lancia Delta.
@@JJ_ExMachina I think that might be the perfect car for them, actually. Good call.
LegacyMuse ... I personally owned a Rubin Red 2001 VW Golf GTI with a set of Rally White Fifteen52 Tarmac in 19 x 9.5. I loved the contrast with the white wheels and the deep red of the car.
I just stopped the video in the middle to write couple of things: YOU ARE THE BEST CAR THROTTLE. Everyone is making such a great job! I love to watch your videos, we love to do it in Poland! I want to meet you guys!
Speechless!! Hell of a job guys
Take it to the Nürburgring next and while at it do a top speed run on the Autobahn... at night 👍
Next week on Carthrottle: BMW 330d vs. Nissan GT-R Track Battle Series
How much did that helmet weight, since it made such and huge difference?
Sight
Gotta love the tire and diesel smoke together
That feeling of frustration while trying to improve the lap time... That's so relatable. Good job! ;)
"That's incredible how much time he saved without a helmet"
Top speed run in Germany please
I enjoyed the series with the exception of the sheer amount of shit you took out of the car. I thought the idea was to make it a sleeper not a full-fledged track car. It seems to be a great car and I would have personally preferred that it stay functional.
That was some very impressive driving therr Alex! Well done!!!
Congrats! I hope to see more on this car.
I always thought 'built' meant forged internals
Rhys Mogford not nessecary for the poweroutput. Stock engine can handle up to 400hp reliable.
A built engine does mean forged internals.
However a "built car" could just mean upgraded stuff.
@@Benobi2 of course, I just thought they fitted forged internals and cranked it even further!
A track car is all about balance, not just power. Drop the diesel :)
this is a diesel track car
This show is a pure commercial. The M3 made 3 laps... while he had more than 100 probably. Not to mention the 0.1 could be due to human error as they are not using anything special to measure when the car finishes the line. This is about as accurate as WWE.
And think how popular WWE is
Exactly. Utterly pointless
And the fact two different drivers did the test. Couldn’t be more inaccurate and bias.
@@ESKATEUK ok 2 things: 1. Jon in his E92 M3 is a better track driver than me and 2. He knows the track well. Which makes the fact that the 330d is competitive even more impressive
Don't use logic against Alex, he tried so hard he's going to cry if Jon comes back and beats his time in first 3 laps, that 0.1 is total bullshit anyway, just a marketing stunt to get people buying parts and dreaming they can have M3 out of old crappy diesel, as log as they but from Car Throttle Shop of course ;)
one of the best motorsport videos i already saw
Well done Gareth and guys.
