Saturday Night In San Francisco is really a fantastic album (.... Friday Night was merely the beginning.. ) it's the first time that somebody in the TH-cam VC is mentioning it. Respect ! A true "audiophile" gem : the best your setup is, the best it sounds !! And i agree 100% with Donald Byrd A New Perspective, my 1971 UA copy, Van Galder stamper, sounds superb too 🙂 Cheers from switzerland, luca
Much respect for you and your comments, I appreciate that. Thank you very much for watching from Switzerland ✌️
I love that you discussed a classical record today! I didn't think about the emotional aspect of Heifetz's playing, but once I heard your comments, that sort of crystallized what I was hearing and I agree with you on that first piece with the organ! Wow! On Side 2 of the record, I felt like the violin was recorded in high fidelity, but the piano did not sound anywhere near as good. In fact, I thought the piano sounded somewhat recessed, not like a full partner in the music. But I still really liked the record. I hope Impex will give us some more classical titles soon!
Thank you very much for taking the time to watch my video and your comments about Heifitz 😊✌️
Excellent presentation. Show more, thx for showing your collection.
Thank you very much 😊 ✌️
I'll check these albums out in the future.👍
Thank you very much 😊 ✌️
I really like your channel 👏🏽👍🏾… I have some of your picks and agree that they’re great records!!!
Thanks for your comments and viewing my video ✌️
I'll pick up The Lark next chance I get. Thanks for the review!
Thank you very much....I hope that you enjoy the album when you get it ✌️
Great vid. Friday and Saturday Night in San Francisco are two albums that I listen to on a regular. If anything the musicianship between the musicians is incredible. The excitement and how they play off of each other makes these two recording special. That audience was treated to something special no matter which night they attended.
I will be on the look out for Helen Merrill records as I know she has a lovely voice. Thanks
I agree with you on the two San Francisco albums, two amazing performances 👏 👍.
Hey Kenny!! I’m thoroughly enjoying your channel. We seem to be on the same page about a lot of things and that is so refreshing. Your outlook on life is beautiful. Keep it up!!!
Thank you very much I appreciate that a lot 😊 ✌️
Hey Kenny that’s for the great info, will look into live Saturday night
I hope that you enjoy the performance when you listen to it.
Thank you Kenny for your recommendations. I was about to purchase the Donald Byrd album but I haven't decide it yet. I have given it a couple of chances by streaming and found it kinda weird. But I suppose that the voices have to do with a sort of spiritual approach on that album, so it may finally make sense to me. I guess I will follow your recommendation and buy it. God bless you!
God bless you too and if you decide to buy the Donald Byrd album, I hope that you enjoy it ✌️
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews Finally, I ordered the album (along with Chant, also by Donald Byrd): And I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would. Many thanks for encouraging me to buy it. Blessings!
Howdy Kenny,
Some nteresting picks. I saw that Louis/Duke album (on CD) at my library yesterday and would have grabbed it but my stack was already getting too big. I'll check it out next time.
The Heifetz looks interesting too. Violin is the most expressive instrument in the hands of a virtuoso, i.m.o.
I'm trying to downsize possessions so I'm using my local library as my personal music collection.😅 Someday soon I want to hear that "violin in my room" so I am considering some audio system upgrades when I figure out how to best proceed without breaking the bank.
✌️🤯🤙
P.s., Have you heard Valve Bone Woe with Chrissie Hynde? It's a lovely album, i.m.o. What a voice.
Thank you very much for your comments and recommendation. I have not heard that singer or album before but I will definitely check it out.
Hey Kenny. Hope all is well. Have you ever, or thought of doing your top ten Pat Metheny and/or Pat Metheny Group list?
That would be an ambitious project for sure as I would have to listen to a lot of albums...maybe at some point in the future. Thank you very much for your suggestion 😊 ✌️
Great stuff Kenny! Quick question, are you a prog guy? If so, what are your top 5?
I'm not a huge fan but I do like it a lot...I like bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull and The Moody Blues.
Excellent Kenny just a question what phonostage do you use.?
Thank you very much. I use a Whest .20 phono stage. Some of my stereo equipment is listed in the description section of my video.
Thanks Kenny. What is your method for removing Blue Note hype stickers from the shrink wrap?
Thanks.
I have never tried to remove the hype stickers, I leave them on the shrink wrap
Kenny, did you get out for record store day, and if you did, what did you get?
Thank you for asking but I did not get out for record store day.
