Hi Bull, Thanks for visiting my channel ❤
You must be quite a good Gardener 👍 and you have a big property ❤
Yes I love gardening since a young child with my dad. It’s got to be one of the most rewarding things to do right! I see you also, love getting your hands dirty in the garden
@@TheBullsGarden absolutely 👍
Hi Bull. My garlic, komatsuna, Nagasaki Cabbage, Danvers carrots, and turnips are still doing great, but I noticed that deer have been nibbling away at the carrot tops. They would be completely devoured if I didn't have them surrounded with a hog wire fence. My first generation of tomato plants have all sprouted. I'll start up potting them soon. In a few days, I'll sow seed starts for both my garden and a spring plant sale, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and more. After they've sprouted, I'll sow seed starts for mustard, and Swiss chard. Then in February, I'll direct sow carrot, snow peas, shelling peas, golden beets, and radishes. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my cherry trees. They have an estimated shipment date of January 22nd. I spent a little time weeding out two polytunnel raised beds. Other than that, I needed to move nine grow bags, and replace the damaged bags (weed eater damage). Everything else is pretty much on auto pilot. My mother grows cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower in her garden, so I can use the space for other plants, and experimentation. This spring, I am experimenting with Wine Cap mushrooms, and several new herbs.
Do you sell lots of plants and vegetables from the garden at the farmers markets. Them deers will devour your garden in one evening. I have try and grow cauliflower this never grown it before
@@TheBullsGarden This is my first year doing a plant sale, selling seedlings to other gardeners, mainly tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and a few herbs. I'm starting small with about 250 plants, and will see how it goes from there. If successful, I'll do it again next year and adjust the amount of plants I am selling. The produce from my garden is mainly for my family with excess going to neighbors and friends. As for the deer, I live in a forested area on the edge of the Talladega National Forest. Deer aren't much of a problem until about mid October. Angel, my cat is a bigger problem, so I keep my plants covered with netting to protect them from her until they are large enough that she doesn't dig them up. This has a secondary function of reducing pest damage, and deer eating my crops. In the fall, I grow greens, turnips, beetroot, garlic, and carrots. They don't flower, so it isn't a problem keeping them covered through the winter.
I hope you do well with the wine cap mushrooms. I ordered the Field and Forest Spawn when I had my property in CO. They grew so well. I had deep wood chip pathways around my gardens. I used soaked wet cardboard and dug down into the wood chips placing pieces of spawn under the wet cardboard and covered it all over with the wood chips. It takes a while, but they will grow so plentiful that you won’t know what to do with them all. They taste so delicious. Good luck.

Thanks for the inspirational video. I too will be sowing more collard seeds especially since the beavers came along and helped themselves 😳
Them beavers and rabbits can really make you upset sometimes 🤣🤣 I had a rabbit eat like 10 Bok Choy plants that were getting big in size 😡 definitely get some more collards in the ground.
Awesome video
Thank you Sis Shannie, happy new years and many blessings throughout 2024
@@TheBullsGarden Thank You 😊 and same to you and your family 🥰
I keep getting them wholes I them
Boy that bed you prepared looks very nice. Made me want to go and try to find an area in my garden to make a bed. Those are going to be some very happy Collards. Is that area 7:04 protected by a tarp anytime or is it constantly open? I love the setup. The milk crates, what do you have in them? The collard greens will grow at the same time -- how do you store them? Great informative video!!!
Thank you RB, I removed the plastic that was on the greenhouse, I’m replacing it with hard plastic similar to your greenhouse, I’m tired of replacing soft plastic. I use the milk crates for my chicken nest boxes and other projects such as keeping plants off the ground. The Collards get cleaned diced and stored in the freezer when I have a lot
Looking good my brother! What were the other amendments you added to your garden bed?
Thank you, I added ash, black kow and 10-10-10
