Yul Brenner passed away from lung cancer. He made a commercial about not smoking and it for some reason I forgot why, was only played one time across the US and I was shown after his death. You can pull it up on TH-cam. I did get to see it on T.V. He was such a great actor. I got to see the play "King and I" in 1984, before his passing in 1985. A standing ovation lasted 20 min. He had tears in his eyes.

Unfortunately Yul died of lung cancer many years ago. I'm old enough to remember the anti smoking commercials he used to do after being diagnosed. John Wayne did those commercials as well.
They pay for the money, and once they are addicted to smoking, it is very difficult to quit.

I watched the film in the late 80s! It led to the salvation of my soul up till date. I wish I could get my children to watch same. Thank God for Ramsay II ( Yul Brener) and all others. May their souls continue to rest in peace. Thanks also for sharing this epic film that will remain forever fresh in my memory.

The Ten Commandments is an absolutely stunning, epic movie. I don't mean to nitpick here, but it does depart from the Bible in some key places. For example, the film shows Pharaoh escaping after the Red Sea parts, but according to the Bible he was killed. It's a minor detail in the grand scheme of things, but it's worth noting. Proof of which can be attested in the Book of Psalm KJV in Chapter 136: 13-15 which says: "But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth forever. Additional reading also in Exodus 14:28 and Psalm 106: 9-11.
You're not nitpicking. The movie departs a lot - a heck of a lot from the Biblical account.

Most ppl may remember Yul from alltime classics like The Mag' 7, Westworld or The King an I but he gave an outstanding portrayal of Ramases' brutish pharaoh here; the guy was talented beyond belief an excelled at a time not easy f actors who weren't considered the conventional blue-eyed, blonde hair posterboy pin-up.
