Lol that last theory would piss me off completely, just imagine beating the story just for the character to wakeup to his boss telling him to get back to work .
Better yet wakes up gets yelled at to go back to work falls back asleep so you can play on even once you beat the game and when he goes back to sleep your world gets wiped
Bunyip swamp actually he knows the ending when your in a dream you know what's going to happen if it's a dream that means he knows the ending (not trying to hate)
I think that this was a total test for the human race whom has the technology to tame dinos in the game so they know the sinks are on this island and to know if it is possible to survive the DINOS so then on to the humans who are watching them and find out that they can.
Person in 2020 already knows that in the 22nd century humans discovered element and it started a war that war destroyed earth but before scientists make the arks you are also cloned along with the dinos and the implant on your arm keeps your memory
42 likes - 42 is THE ultimate answer to the ultimate question. And it's from the story of the destruction of the Earth b/c it was in the way of Interglacial highway. Oh did you notice there are dolphins in this game yet no mice? You think that's coincidence???
I'm thinking about a Maze Runner type situation. Advanced humans send their own into a new environment with no idea of how they got there. The stranded humans need to survive and poop on each other, while the advanced humans watch from afar to see what the stranded will do. They will be surprised at the pooping addiction. :P
+CatoClaw Lol the pooping is probably an instrumental part of their plan. Maybe they are super aliens who survive on poop and they sent us here to collect all the poo! Thanks for your input :)
CatoClaw also backing up this the implants that alows your stats to be changed makes me to believe that we are not human but geneticly modified hens the character screen and ofcorce the geneticly modified dinos
I’ve been trying to figure the plot out and this is what the wiki says A long time before your story takes place, humans discovered an incredibly rare, versatile metal unlike anything seen before. This metal is called tek or element. 2 groups (I forgot their names) were the dominant tek users. As tek supplies depleted, they weaponized what they had and went to war. The thing about tek is that it doesn’t behave like normal metals, it’s “alive” It harbors a hate for all forms of life. It is able to grow and spread, the reason it hadn’t before was because it was trapped deep underground and unrefined. Even when it was processed and used in everyday life, it would take 1000s of years to cause any damage. But the refined, weaponized tek effected the planet after just a few years. Also element can infect and mutate life, and these creatures form a hive mind. The groups realized this and stopped their conflict to try and save humanity. Before the war, scientists discovered a part of the brain called the engramic matrix, which preserves memories for possibly 100s of thousands of years, if even a single bit of dna could be found. The groups gathered the memories of everyone who had ever lived and stored them in multiple safe places. (I’m assuming they didn’t get EVERYONE, but if they miss a few people it has no effect on the lore) They set up safe areas on earth where tek can’t grow. Tek responded to this by creating massive titans (think the kaiju from Godzilla) that leveled everything in their path until only 2 settlements remained, arat prime in Australia, and the Sanctuary in North America. Knowing that the earth was lost the groups came up with 2 escape plans. 1 group built the ARKs, massive (roughly 8x8 miles) space stations powered by contained tek obelisks, this tek was not made into weapons of mass destruction, so it poses no threat. Each ARK was a different environment, with incredible creatures living in them. The ARKs also contained all human engrams, and technology that could be used to terraform. The ARKs would orbit earth until Tek levels dropped to a safe level. During this time, possibly millions of years, it would clone perfect (as fit as possible) human bodies and plant the consciousness of long dead people in them. These people would be forced to survive on the hostile ARKs, learning everything necessary to survive on a hostile earth, and if they died they could just be cloned again, but with the memo of their past body, this they learn from their mistakes. Multiple people could be on an ARK at the same time, with the implants translating any speech. The ARKs were managed automatically, but everything was overseen by the homo deus, or overseers. These were people who used tek to loose a physical body and get one of pure energy, meaning they couldn’t easily interact with technology. They were effectively immoral and could know what was happening at almost anywhere in the universe. Overtime, their minds crumbled and they faded away, leaving only the automatic systems. The other thing done was creating a massive spaceship (The genesis craft) to fly away and look for a new home, it would train humans with a simulation, called the Genesis simulation. Your story begins with the ARKs beginning to malfunction. There is more to the story, but this is just about the island.
Ya know, me friends and I figured that some aliens had been collecting species from throughout time, only collecting them when there was a major extinction level event occurring, and placing them on a remote, walled off island in the middle of the ocean. I kinda like how the Devs left pretty much every aspect of story up to imagination
In the GPS Item description it says that the obelisk are used to find your exact position on the island, but your character makes this GPS. Your character can only do this if he has a understanding of the obelisks and how they work. Now I know this is almost certainly just a coincidence because the devs had to come up with a reason for GPS. But what if this is some sort of maze runner shit.
After hitting the map barrier I always liked the idea that this was some sort of virtual simulation, where our consciousness was uploaded into the character too see how humans and dinosaurs would interact in a more modern world, for what reason I'm not sure though. Will be exciting to see what background story the devs come up with in time.
It's probably the first ever hunger games what went wrong so they sent outcasts in here and the purpose is to learn about how people would act for the next hunger games
Very cool theories. I kind of like the idea that this is about the interaction of the species....someone watching from a far, studying you guys & the dinos and seeing who will prevail. (Kind of like rats in a maze!) My initial thought was that the implants are trackers, like we place on animals we study....tracking movement etc. I also thought that this might be like a time travel thing going back to save the dinos and maybe change the fate of mankind! Can't wait to see all the ideas and see where the devs take this!
+Mennace Or hence the name ARK it has all these previously extinct animals in this world maybe to save them from extinction. So perhaps humans suffered the same fate, they faced extinction so some other species or other humans have placed them there like the other animals maybe to save us from extinction as well.
+Kate Black Same. Though with the engrams and how we stare at our wrists for our inventory and crafting. Maybe the implants act as a computer and/or second brain as well.
Great Theories! I wonder if this is more like a test or "trial by fire" similar to the Maze Runner series, rather than pure entertainment like the Hunger Games. What if the higher beings, be they alien or advanced humans, are trying to find the strongest survivors to ascend and become part of the higher race. I think I remember hearing Jat talk about "ascension" during one of the commentaries of the Survival of the fittest tournaments. During a slow period in the Game they were discussing the game in general and the story stuff came up. He mentioned the towers or obelisks were for more than summoning bosses and saving player and dino data. Cheers!!
I think the story is pretty obvious. Every single animal in this game share one specific trait: all of them are extinct animals from all across the history of earth. So it follows that humans being present there means they are extinct as well. The ark is probably just a wildlife reserve. Aliens or some other being (doesn't really matter). You have an implant, probably like all animals meant to track and inventory them, like we currently do with wildlife animals. ... and that's it really. Don't really need to be more than that for this game to make perfect sense.
I think the characters were captured, got that thing in their arm and got their memory deleted. Then they were put on this "Island", wich is a simulation. Think i'm wrong, alright, everybody has his own opinion
Great video. I have always imagined that the players were from a different dimension. The same Earth in the same timeline but a different dimension where the dinosaurs never died off. The players were sent to prepare the way for a mass exodus from an Earth that is highly advance but over populated and on the verge of destruction. Perhaps the ruins indicate previous attempts that missed the preferred timeline. Or the rise of man earlier in that dimension's time that ultimately became extinct just in our would the dinosaurs did. It is going to be interesting to see what the truth is. Thanks for the video.
I thought it was something about saving the creatures too, right when I started playing my goal was to get two of every Dino based on the name of the game.
its a space prison, tech has advanced so far as to have a holographic projection chip in your arm (a tracker essentially explaining all details of you and even having a number system similar to a prison), dinos wandering around (cloning is possible in the future im guessing), force fields to hold you in and you're easily forgotten and can never leave. essentially turning a prison into entertainment for viewing. (similar to the truman show but way more advanced) all the things that happen in the game for example have just been there from centuries of prisoners.
Perhapes the character is a volunteer for some kind of science experiment to study human behavior in survival situations. Throughout the game, scientist are observing you through a survival simulation called the Ark. Kinda like the Animus from Assassin's Creed.
I think some one watched the tv series 'The 100' and got inspiration for a game. It's similar. The survivors were put on there for a reason. It's a wasteland in ark and in The 100. In The 100 the group who sent the survivors to the world or the island are called 'The Ark'. Maybe in ark survival, the world was ended and it is now a wasteland which could explain why there are explorer nodes and pre made buildings. By radiation, weird creatures was created but the game creator gave the game a feature of its own, so he/she added dinos. Nature took over the world again leaving trees and jungles. In the 100, the world was ended by bombs from space by 'The Ark'. They wanted to see if the world was survivable so they sent down 100 people to see and to survive. In the 100, the radiation mutated animals which means there are strange species of animals for example a 2 headed dear or a mutant wolf which looks similar to the dire wolf on ark survival. Idk but I think Ark survival creators got inspiration from a tv series. Who agrees???
WhaleZ you haven't watched season 3 of the 100 have you? The bombs were launched by an A.I to reduce population, not the ark. Dinosaurs weren't mutated by radiation, they were always like that. The 100 group were sent down to earth to reduce oxygen and food intake on the ark to increase months before they ran out of rations. There's not much of a chance they were inspired by the tv show
I think the story line goes like this: Your player was extremely drunk, fell on some gravel and got a stone on their wrist, they're so drunk that they start seeing things like dinosaurs and vast land. But for some reason the gravel rock is keeping you drunk. That's my theory
It has to be something like the Maze Runner, if you haven't watched that movie it is about them pushing human abilities to make some kind of superhuman, or to make the human race evolve quicker, like the island is a giant laboratory.
my personal perception has always been that we were put there as an experiment to see who can adapt quickest and become the apex predator in a short amount of time
i half agree with the first theory. if you look at the description on the implant in your inventory, it says SPECIMEN implant, and gives you a specimen number. a specimen being a test subject. also, the loot crates are called supply drops, meaning someone else put them there
Wow, how do you NOT have more subscribers? You produce very high quality content, IMO. Anywho, the way I explain this game to my friends who watch my own Let's Play is thus: Imagine a race of Aliens spent millenia abducting species from all of Earth's history and have now placed them on this alien-created ARK to survive and compete. All for the entertainment of the species. With more technologies rumored to be released, it makes sense that an Alien influence must be at play (at least to me). Not to mention the constant dinos releasing that look NOTHING like their fossil records would indicate they should.... The only explanation, that makes some sort of sense, is Alien (or higher being) interference. What do you guys think?
it might interest you that somewhere in the snow biome there is a frozen person in a cave of some sort. i havent found it yet but im searching. i saw it found in a youtube vid. But love the videos im looking forward to seeing if the titan boa farm works
+jonas ottesen By the sounds of it, there are other frozen corpses elsewhere. For all we know, they could even be ice mummies of whoever created those ruins. But they could also be the remains of past survivors that were ill equipped to survive in the snow.
+jonas ottesen i found a frozen alien body in a small ice cave down the blue obelisk montain at the left side of the volcado and a little apart from the river...
i said something about that in one of my recent streams. not knowing the game or its background am i sent here, to have my prowess as a survivalist and hunter tested, to see if i can reach the heights required to claim a lordship of the island itself. or to show my skill..is it a game of entertainment for some higher beings...
I think it's a simulation, it would explain various objects and animals disintegrating as well as being able to respawn and choose where you respawn. Even with the 'survivor' notes I believe this theory is pretty solid. Past that, I have no idea.
guys look at the explorer notes especially in Scorched Earth it tells you the storyline the characters are in an enviroment on a space station i'm not joking, read scorched earth Helena notes. keeping mind i haven't collected all of the notes and i could be wrong. also i believe according to Scorched Earth Helena one There are multiple ARK's of multiple environments which she found out by transferring ARK's. The point to do this you may ask, i say to get humanity to evolve. they put them in a hostile environment with an tracking device or implant to track their progress in multiple survival situations until they are eventually selected as an ideal product to the experiment. Maybe the last challenge is SOTF since the winners kinda ascend to somewhere else. just my theory
it's a puzzle and as long as you start evolving you start learning different type of parts of the island we start getting more in-depth to the different type of things that you can create... as you go along you will find different things you need to come together to make the puzzle work... these different totams there different things they give you these different glowing totems points you in the rite direction to unlock different parts of the island so you can see the people who created it in the end... their rendition of the Anunnaki coming to the Earth and standing the life on Earth and their true purpose will be revealed
My theory is that we were put there by an unknown force and we were always watched and monitored to see how well we cope with our environment, then after all that (this doesn't actually happen) the better stronger of the survivers are picked up by the unknown force, and used to either fight in a war against an enemy to our aliens and/or placed to a higher existence. That's one of my many theories :)
My theory is closely related to the Maze Runners story: Ark is a island far away from humanity made by scientists, the player has to use all the skills he can (navigation, fighting, etc) to live on this island inhabited with dinosaurs. The reason the Ark was made is to test the player for the reality, to bring back the human race, humanity is close to extinction with only a few survivors. The explorer notes are from previous people who took on this test but failed. At the end the player will find a note from the scientists that made the Ark that tells the player the way to the mainland and fulfill his mission to save humanity... This is my theory, I hope you like it. Edit: The drops were sent by the scientists to help the player on his journey, the player has a gem in his arm(I forgot the name of it) that were made with the last of the materials they had since the other people died and got their body eaten so they couldn't retrieve the gem in their arm. They would have to use that gem to learn how to build and craft new things that would help them in apocalyptic mainland. The name Ark was made because the scientists found three huge obelisks under the Ark then the scientists activated them that caused them to float in different directions, The blue Obelisk is in the north, the Red Obelisk is in the south west and the Green Obelisk is in the south east, if joined up like dots it makes the letter A that made the scientists make up the name 'Ark'. I forgot to mention that the scientists erased the player's memory of the implant and such. This is the end of my theory.
I think that the story is you were sent out in this area to test a new technology (The implant) and other humans were watching you to and helping you to survive so they can continue to study the player in this weird world that they made.
I think it's like some trial or subject to see if the implant works so that they people who sent them didn't have to use others and put them to the test
I've always thought the same thing. Aliens have put you and other humans together with all the other animals in an Ark like Noahs but instead of a boat it's a floating self contained ecosystem. I REALLY hope the developers have the same deep philosophies when creating the story.
I always thought that scientists sent humans in a simulation to see how they would react/survive in a prehistoric era. The obelisks are like generators that keep the simulation going. The supply drops are sent down by the scientists to help the player. The bosses are to see if humans could live and thrive back then as well as we do now. Once every boss has been defeated (Dragon, Megaphitcus, Broodmother) it gives you a cutscenes of traveling up in the air in some weird energy looking light. The cutscenes end and that means when the scientists tried to get that human out, the simulation wouldn't stop so it sends the player back to their bases.
I think it could be like maze runner because the thing in your hand says specimen implant so I think people put you in a place with Dino's or back in time to see what they would do
Maybe creating your character is canon and your making yourself be reborn and your character is confused because his or her memory of making their new body was wiped and your implant allows you to respawn, craft stuff and level up and the obelisks are there to give your implant power and also to make dinos spawn in
I think that you are stranded and Rockwell, Mei, and the other people who took notes are put in one ark after another until they made THIER own teleporters in aberration to go to earth to go live with their families again because they were not mind wiped and sent there onto the ark. btw some other people were there too
My theory is that scientist cooperating with world leaders in the distant future implanted the specimen implant into volunteers, wiped their memory, and placed them in a very realistic simulation of the past, to see what humans would have done if they were around when Dino's were. + a little bit of assistance so we don't get absolutely slaughtered I guess
I would've thought we were like test subjects for an alien race so they can see how we survive with these dinos, and the implant is a way for them to track/identify us and communicate with us... didnt actually know the game had a story behind it tho :D
i thik its more of the hunger games thing. The drops with the supplies and stuff makes it sound like the hunger games. Or it might just be like a test to see if people can survive on the island.
My only small problem with the whole "everything on the island is extinct and is being tested to bring back to life" theory is that some of the species, including upcoming ones, still are alive today. and they are considered living fossils to us. Examples being the Coelicanth, the Acatina (snail,) and the Electrophorus (Electric Eel.) On a slightly related note. The Cnidaria (Jellyfish) and Araneo morphusare also not any specific species it seems. The dossier for the Jellyfish states that they are not one specific kind of species of jellyfish and instead hold characteristics of various types of jellies. So it seems more like an experiment rather than an attempt to resurrect species. And the Araneo are the babies of the broodmother Lystrix, and, by the looks of it, were never any specific type of prehistoric spider or such. All of the bosses seem to be uniquely created species too (especially the dragon) that have never truly existed in real life in the forms they take (the closest creature to the Megapithicus being a gorrila or other large ape. Dragons never existed but resemble dinosaurs. Broodmother Lystrix is a really huge spider but doesn't seem to have any specific species to her.) So it seems more like an experimental playground than an attempt to preserve species.
I believe that the whole thing is a simulation set up by modern scientist. They selected specific and/or created specimens of humans and placed them on a remote island; where there they would further study the evolution man and how we adapt. The notes are either from scientists studying the dinos that they have created or are from previous survivors that decided to begin researching the dinos.
I think aliens place survivors on the island to see what happens when they're in an unknown place with unknown technology and never-before-seen creatures to see how they would adapt and survive to the situation
The true theory is that you were sent as an explorer like the people who wrote the notes. But the people who sent you knew it wasn't an island they were sending you to because as it says in the notes it's not an island, it's a zoo. You were most likely sent to research what had happened to their island unknowingly and we're never found or rescued just like the other explorers before you.
i have a theory it is that the player was sent and paticipated in a search for the dinosaurs maybe to save them or to retrieve them but on the trip maybe they met with a storm and got washed up here on this place with weird obelisks and stuff the implant is also a technology they had voluntarily implanted in them as a communication device of sorts and when the players wakes up he seems to not remember anything maybe from amnesia making him forget things and the dossier that link back to civilasation is a recall to things like a fragment of their memory
Another theory could be to test how humans would work if put in a world with dinosaurs seeing if we would mess up the world the way we do IRL with a little help from the people taking notes in what is happening
Maybe it's like Skull Island (see Kong movie) . In our lifetime, there is an island where dinos still live and you just wash up the shore, and the implant is put there by some secret island civilazation, and then you wake up clueless of why u have it.
I think that it's a zoo made by aliens or something which would explain all the different bioms right next to each other and random animals and dinosaurs
I remember hearing about in one of the journals that the author of it was killed and he woke up and was able to find his old body or something like that. If that's true it could be that an advanced human race had out these people here on the island to die over and over and come back and eventually evolve to be able to survive whatever problem the advanced humans cannot face. I think of it as being similar to the tests in the maze runner or divergent and I think it's a really cool basis if that is it
These are some Really good Theories; I think The obelisks Are a Way of indictaing North ( Blue ) East ( Green ) And West ( Red ), And that The Speciman Implant Is a Possible way Of "Communicating" With these Towers And allowing the player To "See" Them, However Recent Discoverys ( by me... ) Have Seen that You can fly through The obelisks Like their Not there. But Being able To Transfer Dinos In the obelisks Makes me Think That These Higher power Take the dino That you've Uploaded And Download them To another World That you've Chosen, I have Been thinking That ark is In many ways Very Similar To The Hunger Games,
I think it could be someone or something studying human evolution to learn from them as they (the player) learn. in the spawn you start with a species impact helping you do just that, as you learn skills rapidly and get to increase your stats to best suit your environment, the obelisk and crates are there to help you and challenge you as you become more successful. Also when you die you don't forget anything and your dinosaur still recognise you so that can lead to the watchers continue their studies and prevent them from starting all over. and also the name "the ark" could be a sanctuary or a test as is it limited to the map.
My theory: Alienz built a massive world to preserve Earths extinct species and to experiment on them to try and find out more about them, thus making it an Ark. The aliens monitor us and challenge us with bosses and hostile creatures from different timelines making it harder for survival and seeing what huans are capable of. The goal is to survive for research purposes.
Perhaps we will know it when it is released in full version. :) My version is that the ancient people and they can survive in this world, we as modern people would not do it. Then something done that they end up at a site and get through the lighthouses will present technology in order to survive the worst beasts. It explain that you can collect things in the beginning but not the brains to build the simplest wall. After all, we are animals, and in the beginning we were collectors and hunters.
i agree with the theory about aliens, humans, or some kind of life form watching over the player for entertainment as they are stranded on the island. maybe the implants are like tracking implants?
The forgotten story of the explorer notes. Once upon a time there was a woman named Helena. She was flying on her Argentavis, got an error code, the application closed and she lost her argentavis forever, by the time she tamed another, the nerf turned her Argentavis into a potato, and therefore she became a novelist, spreading lies in numerous dossiers like the titanosaur and the pteranodon. Once upon a time there was a pirate named rockwell, he liked boats, he was sexually assaulted by a leedsichthys, he doesn't like boats anymore. Once upon a time there was a person called Mei Yin. Upon going for a swim, Mei Yin ended up a bit too far out. Because of rubber-banding issues with the server, Yin was stranded in the ocean forever where he got yang raped by eels and drowned. Nuerva is so ancient, she killed herself because the framerate was too low and because the game hadn't been optimized properly, she couldn't survive the unbearable nightmare that was 3fps.
according to my friend who says he beat the game the obelisks are the key to getting back to the normal world apperently there's some kind of lever at all of the obelisks that you have to flip to get back
I think the ark is like an experiment to maybe see how like modern humans would possibly like live in the dinosaur era the specimen implant sort of drove me to create this theory
Not to mention the amount of species that are sepperated by millions of years. The dimetrodon is from 300 mil years ago. The dinos being from all 4 dino eras.
i mentioned this game to a friend of mine and he said it sounded alot like a book he read, where aliens put two tribe on an island filled with dinsours. the tribe that lived closest to the towers became more violent as they had better access to weapons and such and the other tribe was more passive. turns out they were all clones when they died they just came back they had devices in their wrists too. in the end the more violent tribe enslaved the passive one and dominated the island but im not sure what the point in it was.
I believe that the island was created by a higher race then ours as a forum of research on humans. As well as enabling them to gain information from the past and watch how a civilization can be created from nothing over the course of time. The loot drops are a way of giving them items that could help them in the future. Like in the hunger games. And the obelisks are a way to allow both the island to stay a stable entity and help the survivors survive. That is my theory.
My theory is that they are literally in a game that somebody had created which would explain the mix of caveman tools and advanced weapon wry and also that's why when they die they can resonance agains as if they are in a game in their world
My theory: People from this time or the future was send back in the time. The implantat is like a help thing, who help them survive. The beacons are thing the future people are sending to the players.
I hate the it was all a dream thing it shows that the writer can't find a ending
I so agree with this statement
it would sooo piss me off
I get the feeling that the arks were meant to be zoos filled with clones of extinct species, meaning that humans are extinct in this world
mind blown
They are in the canon so your kinda right
Person in 2020 already knows that in the 22nd century humans discovered element and it started a war that war destroyed earth but before scientists make the arks you are also cloned along with the dinos and the implant on your arm keeps your memory
Of course we are extinct. In the game we are robots playing a survival game.. Am sure
42 likes - 42 is THE ultimate answer to the ultimate question. And it's from the story of the destruction of the Earth b/c it was in the way of Interglacial highway.
Oh did you notice there are dolphins in this game yet no mice?
You think that's coincidence???
"Loot crates that descend from the sky filled with various items mostly water jar and crop plot blueprints." So true and hilarious!
Nah, boots and saddles
I got some wooden structure like walls and foundations.
+Mennace Technically Poop is output.
CatoClaw exactly was I was thinking
Funny enough, 2 years later, that idea is actually turning out to be closer to the real story
CatoClaw also backing up this the implants that alows your stats to be changed makes me to believe that we are not human but geneticly modified hens the character screen and ofcorce the geneticly modified dinos
I think it's a simulation of what happens in my brother's mind, when he is high.

Philo Star thank you for that so much
Philo Star this made my whole day
Philo Star I CAN HONESTLY RELATE! LOL
I’ve been trying to figure the plot out and this is what the wiki says
A long time before your story takes place, humans discovered an incredibly rare, versatile metal unlike anything seen before. This metal is called tek or element. 2 groups (I forgot their names) were the dominant tek users. As tek supplies depleted, they weaponized what they had and went to war.
Ah yes, the good old days where almost every ark player was trying to figure out the lore of ark
I like the alien theory. I am Subbing+Liking!
Terror birds are awesome if you have enough stamina.
It's probably the first ever hunger games what went wrong so they sent outcasts in here and the purpose is to learn about how people would act for the next hunger games
damn this is some deep stuff! how you made so many conclusions from what you see in the game I don't wana know xD... great work!
+Ignatio Ferreira Thanks dude!
+Kate Black Those are some good thoughts, could very well be true! Thanks for your ideas :)
ElegantExcalibur That works as well but that makes all these theories very hard to explain.
Look how this turned out
Great Theories! Cheers!!
In my opinion this theory is ridiculous. My theory is that aliens put you on the Ark to try and help the humans evolve faster.
Great video Menace keep them going!
+Bennett gaming Thanks dude!
I think the characters were captured, got that thing in their arm and got their memory deleted. Then they were put on this "Island", wich is a simulation.
Think i'm wrong, alright, everybody has his own opinion
are you assuming my gender
I hope they keep adding DLCs and make a map that fits all the maps in one with the Island the Center and Scorched earth, + future maps
I love theese type of videos and the update news videos, keep up the good work!
+Hansikul Glad you enjoyed it, thanks :)
+Trebble Runner Thanks :)
Mennace I like the idea of it being like Noah's arc is probably right and a theory I personally like!
Trebble Runner these dinosaurs are millions of years apart in death so how would they all be on one island
Trebble Runner Basically the series Terra Nova
TheAweGuy yaaaaaaas someone watched it
I love when you do these types of videos man!!
+VictorGraphics1 Thanks dude!
Great theories! Love all your videos, keep up the awesome work!
+Firas Aleem (TheFissinator) Thanks! :)
Love hearing these old fan theories now that we actually know a decade later the full story snd idea.
I thought it was something about saving the creatures too, right when I started playing my goal was to get two of every Dino based on the name of the game.
YES! Thank you for this video! I was hoping so much that ARK would have an actual story!
its a space prison, tech has advanced so far as to have a holographic projection chip in your arm (a tracker essentially explaining all details of you and even having a number system similar to a prison), dinos wandering around (cloning is possible in the future im guessing), force fields to hold you in and you're easily forgotten and can never leave. essentially turning a prison into entertainment for viewing. (similar to the truman show but way more advanced) all the things that happen in the game for example have just been there from centuries of prisoners.
Well i think the implant kinda acts like the fallout series pip-boy where both of dem can change stats invenrory and more.
@Mennance your a great narator,an informed one to...it's like watching to
Discovery
+Pavros Ianys Thanks dude!
I like the idea about hight beings
Perhapes the character is a volunteer for some kind of science experiment to study human behavior in survival situations. Throughout the game, scientist are observing you through a survival simulation called the Ark. Kinda like the Animus from Assassin's Creed.
Cool vid I always wanted to hear a theory of the story of ark
There's not much of a chance they were inspired by the tv show
I think the story line goes like this:
Your player was extremely drunk, fell on some gravel and got a stone on their wrist, they're so drunk that they start seeing things like dinosaurs and vast land. But for some reason the gravel rock is keeping you drunk. That's my theory
The hunger games theory is good though. That we''re being watched go entertainment
for *
yeah that makes sence that why you get supply drops
It has to be something like the Maze Runner, if you haven't watched that movie it is about them pushing human abilities to make some kind of superhuman, or to make the human race evolve quicker, like the island is a giant laboratory.
my personal perception has always been that we were put there as an experiment to see who can adapt quickest and become the apex predator in a short amount of time
i half agree with the first theory. if you look at the description on the implant in your inventory, it says SPECIMEN implant, and gives you a specimen number. a specimen being a test subject.
also, the loot crates are called supply drops, meaning someone else put them there
WHY IS THERE DAEDRIC WRITING IN THE DAMN BROODMOTHER THINGY?!?!
Easter egg?
Is there? I'm only level 15, so I obviously haven't gotten to that obelisk, so I don't know.
Beautiful gameplay man
Wow, how do you NOT have more subscribers?
+Little Eagle Gaming Thanks dude! Subs will come, eventually :) I like your take on the story! Thanks for the input.
I've read all the explorer notes and learned jack about the history of the ark
it might interest you that somewhere in the snow biome there is a frozen person in a cave of some sort. i havent found it yet but im searching. i saw it found in a youtube vid.
But love the videos im looking forward to seeing if the titan boa farm works
+jonas ottesen so that might give a clue to the story :-D
+jonas ottesen By the sounds of it, there are other frozen corpses elsewhere.
For all we know, they could even be ice mummies of whoever created those ruins.
But they could also be the remains of past survivors that were ill equipped to survive in the snow.
+jonas ottesen i found a frozen alien body in a small ice cave down the blue obelisk montain at the left side of the volcado and a little apart from the river...
Yes i found i too. There is also one by slips old base
I liked the 1st theory I would never actually think that and I've been playing ark since it came our
i said something about that in one of my recent streams. not knowing the game or its background am i sent here, to have my prowess as a survivalist and hunter tested, to see if i can reach the heights required to claim a lordship of the island itself. or to show my skill..is it a game of entertainment for some higher beings...
I think it's a simulation, it would explain various objects and animals disintegrating as well as being able to respawn and choose where you respawn. Even with the 'survivor' notes I believe this theory is pretty solid. Past that, I have no idea.
is there a story yet? it's been over a year. any updates yet on story or did they keep giving us dinos to keep us distracted?

Yay so many Bethesda and Fallout fans around now exuse me while i do my vault tec mascot gesture 👍
guys look at the explorer notes especially in Scorched Earth it tells you the storyline the characters are in an enviroment on a space station i'm not joking, read scorched earth Helena notes. keeping mind i haven't collected all of the notes and i could be wrong. also i believe according to Scorched Earth Helena one There are multiple ARK's of multiple environments which she found out by transferring ARK's.
I think it's like kong skull island , when humans find a vacant island and get stranded in on it
it's a puzzle and as long as you start evolving you start learning different type of parts of the island we start getting more in-depth to the different type of things that you can create... as you go along you will find different things you need to come together to make the puzzle work... these different totams there different things they give you these different glowing totems points you in the rite direction to unlock different parts of the island so you can see the people who created it in the end... their rendition of the Anunnaki coming to the Earth and standing the life on Earth and their true purpose will be revealed
That's one of my many theories :)
very cool and an interesting subject!
+ahmad plays Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :)
+Mennace I agree with the one about Noah's Ark and saving them.
I always thought of it being an experiment. Throwing people into a land of islands with dinosaurs to test well... something
This is so nostalgic.
Good vid mennace!
+CRAZYCOW XXX Thanks mate! :)
I think it could be like maze runner because the thing in your hand says specimen implant so I think people put you in a place with Dino's or back in time to see what they would do
Well thought out doode!
+Honorable Korn Thanks mate :)
I would've thought we were like test subjects for an alien race so they can see how we survive with these dinos, and the implant is a way for them to track/identify us and communicate with us...
didnt actually know the game had a story behind it tho :D
one of the most plausible theories ive heard so far is that the whole island is an experiment meant to accelerate human evolution,
PartyPIG_ _3095 it's canon
i thik its more of the hunger games thing.
Examples being the Coelicanth, the Acatina (snail,) and the Electrophorus (Electric Eel.)
On a slightly related note.
Broodmother Lystrix is a really huge spider but doesn't seem to have any specific species to her.)
So it seems more like an experimental playground than an attempt to preserve species.
My theory is that the character is some kind if experiment captured or willingly put into the ark, to study dinosaurs, and test human endurance
My theory is that ark is like hunger games because there are loot drops, bosses, and syfi tech in a prehistoric world, if it even is prehistoric
I think that it's a zoo made by aliens or something which would explain all the different bioms right next to each other and random animals and dinosaurs
i think this is like the hunger games
they sent the player for entertainment
But Being able To Transfer Dinos In the obelisks Makes me Think That These Higher power Take the dino That you've Uploaded And Download them To another World That you've Chosen, I have Been thinking That ark is In many ways Very Similar To The Hunger Games,
The oblesks positions and colors represent the A for ark
I believe it is scientists studying how long you can survive on a island filled with dino and your Survial skills
Not to mention the amount of species that are sepperated by millions of years. The dimetrodon is from 300 mil years ago. The dinos being from all 4 dino eras.
i mentioned this game to a friend of mine and he said it sounded alot like a book he read, where aliens put two tribe on an island filled with dinsours. the tribe that lived closest to the towers became more violent as they had better access to weapons and such and the other tribe was more passive. turns out they were all clones when they died they just came back they had devices in their wrists too. in the end the more violent tribe enslaved the passive one and dominated the island but im not sure what the point in it was.
gareth hodgson what's the name of the book ?
IDK but this is an awesome game that leaves you open to imagination.... great theories the make perfect sense.
My theory is that they are literally in a game that somebody had created which would explain the mix of caveman tools and advanced weapon wry and also that's why when they die they can resonance agains as if they are in a game in their world
There was a cartoon(forgot the name) that was all about taming dinosaurs and battling them like cards against eachother.
My theory: People from this time or the future was send back in the time. The implantat is like a help thing, who help them survive. The beacons are thing the future people are sending to the players.
