Paint the whole truck i did a classic aluminium valco fishing boat with that same color combo & i love it.. i live in Arizona and i let the boat sit upside down on the ground in my yard to test sun durability for lil over 2 years & i never touched it, my dogs ran and jumped up on it daily i threw small rocks at it from time to time and it never chipped or faded & the only thing i ever did to it was wash off all the dust from time to time its now been on the boat for 4.5 years and still looks as good as the 1st day i sprayed it.. anyone thinking of painting or bedlining their chrome bumpers or trimming. you better do it correct because it will peel in 6 months..chrome is a finish that is tough to make paint stick to. the process for painting over anything chrome is to scruff it up with 80 grit sand paper. make sure its scruffed to the point where you dont have any shiny finish.. then clean the surface with acetone from homedepot with a rag. go to your local auto zone or home depot again and grab an epoxy primer. the epoxy primer is the toughest primer you can put that would grab the paint ike its its first cousin. after you spray with the primer let it dry for 24 to 36 hours as epoxy is a slow setting compund and is best when dried properly. then you can apply raptor liner of your choice or paint. piece of advice. try not to use too much harder and do the mixinf in the raptor liner bottle so you would have pure mix without anything getting caught up in the mixing tub. i went with battleship Dark grey. its darker than the normal battleship grey

CZeroMedia looks great my dude! I did my whole dodge dakota grey! I’m thinking of doing the lower half black because it’s too much grey! I’ll post a review on my truck in the future after I fix some things.

I did my 97 Sonoma exactly like you've described how you want to do yours. I bedlined the bumpers, flares, trim and bed black and the body is all battleship gray. Looks like an apocalypse tank.
Great job, U-pol's Raptor Liner really is just mix, shake and shoot. I'd paint the entire truck in whatever color you like, however, I would go with the finer texture for the rest of it. YOu can get the u-pol pro gun with adjustable nozzle, turn it all the way in, then turn it out exactly 2 rotations and lock it in place, spray at about 70 PSI. Or, thin it up to 20% with Urethane reducer (Thinner) and shoot it from a HVLP gravity gun with a 2mm tip Or, you can roll it on with a hi density roller, however, this method uses more material, and curing time is much longer the thicker the material I did my spare hood for my Jeep with the HVLP gravity gun and was very happy with it, but the the process is a lot slower, especially if you don't have a large air compressor. I achieved the exact same fine texture with U-pol's pro gun and that is without reducer. However, I used 15% reducer on my second coat on the Jeep because it gave me more material. My Jeep took a full four bottles kit and I reckon that truck will take about 6 bottles. Also, I'm very much aware that this video is from 2018 and I reckon you already did whatever you were going to do, so this comment is for others who might be wondering what to do/use. Also, if you can not spray inside, or have no indoor parking, get a breathable car/truck cover. the Raptor will be dry enough to put the cover on about 4 hours after last coat. keeping it dry is important, do not expose it to any water within 72 hours when temps are at 60+ degrees. Longer if temps fall below that. Even morning due will ruin all the work you did Another tip, you didn't need to sand the bumper down to bare metal, just sand back all the clear with an 80 -120 grit wet/dry sander or red scotch bright pad. if you see any shiny bits, keep scuffing, and yes, the adhesion promoter is not only good for hard to sand areas, but also metals like aluminum and plastic parts such as side mirrors Also, never rely on the adhesive promoter alone. after using it in hard to reach areas, use the U-pol Acid etch primer, or if you want a cheaper option any etch primer or epoxy primer, especially on bare metal and chrome If you want to ad vinyl graphics, like the RAM logo on the back of your tailgate, you'll need a hair dryer or adjustable temp heat gun to make them stick, and a soft clean rag (Search TH-cam), not sure about OEM badges, I haven't put mine back on... yet If anyone knows how best to reapply them, I'd love to know. RTV?

I'm not usually a fan of bedliner on the outside of vehicles. It always just cheapens the look. However, in your case with all that rust it's understandable why you went that route. That being said, I would leave it as is. It looks way better now than if you bedlined the entire truck. Nice job....
thanks! planning to do this on my work truck.. :) battleship gray sounds rad. i think I'll just do mine all black since it's work truck taht gets new dents in it every week it seems ha.. maybe less after lining it.

Looks great! I'm thinking of doing my entire truck with this stuff. I'll probably just start with the hood and the roof which has faded very badly. I might throw a tint and make it silver or metallic looking. I always liked the metal look. But this video was very helpful and I'll going to check out the 2 year review.
*Bump I wanna know this too. I've painted stuff before, waited too long and then it was a mess trying to take the tape off but if I too the tape off too soon, it was stringy and left paint strings either on the newly painted surface or the surface I just protected.
Nice video truck looks good. I will tell you that these dodges rust from the inside out so that raptor liner will not stop the rust. It's like cancer you have to cut it out repair and pray it dont come back.
I have same truck and color. I’m fixing to get scoop hood and add black as well too the truck. It’s a Laramie and has Crome all over it I’m ready to get rid of some of it. Just happened to run into your video while looking at paint designs to get ideas. Looks good but I don’t know how well that stuff would hold up on the chrome part of the bumper.

Inspiring! You've convinced me to do my Yukon this way.
Looks very cool! And the extra layer of "rustproofing" has got to be a plus for the truck's longevity! Nice Job!
I'm not usually a fan of bedliner on the outside of vehicles. It always just cheapens the look. However, in your case with all that rust it's understandable why you went that route. That being said, I would leave it as is. It looks way better now than if you bedlined the entire truck. Nice job....
Great job. I'm not brave enough to make a video but I'm going to Raptor paint my 1990 Dodge Van. Thank you for the good advice on everything
It’s pretty clean for being from Michigan
Its a 2017
ThisIsSolution no it’s not😂
ThisIsSolution it’s 3rd gen dodge so like 2001-2007
t dog yeah that’s my bad I meant 03-07 can’t type for shit
t dog you can tell I’m not a dodge guy lol
thanks! planning to do this on my work truck.. :) battleship gray sounds rad. i think I'll just do mine all black since it's work truck taht gets new dents in it every week it seems ha.. maybe less after lining it.
Man I have an 04 Ram and your making me want to paint my entire truck with that! I say do it!!!!
The truck looks good now man. Keep it the way it is now. Looks killer!
Go with the Battle Ship Grey !
great idea
EXCELLENT Job.....perfectly done....direction very clear....Hands down brother.....keep up the great job and post more video....Peace
Great video... but you should really be wearing a mask when sanding my friend.
Nicholas Lootens Ehh, cancer’s never hurt nobody
Great video. Future reference - to help save your knees. Buy one of those mechanic chairs that sit real low to the ground with wheels. I have one and it's made by ULINE. But even harbor freight sells them. Just my 2cents.
Wow , it came out perfect , like it was done professionaly , and No don't paint the whole Truck with that liner , I think it looks good just like that , Joey of Hawaii ...
Same for me!
You killed it man! I've seen a lot of guys ruin their trucks because they don't know what they are doing.. "It's all in the prep work", you got it!! would love to see the whole truck painted with the raptor liner. I was thinking of painting my truck but the paint is still in mint condition so I'll probably wait a few more years.. Our winters are pretty bad here in southern Ontario, it might even get done a little sooner lol
Sick man. Pro level. I want this on my gen 2🤘
Not even a truck person but this is awesome.
I think it looks great how it is, I've seen a couple bed liner cars and trucks and it doesnt look that great most of the time
Bro, it's beautiful with the current color scheme. That champagne is gorgeous. The gloss/flat ratio is perfect as it is now in my opinion. You've got a new fan and subscriber here.
Fantastic result bro, now it's ready for some off roading lol ;)
Truck looks fabulous just the way it is, you’ve done an awesome job with it. I would leave it because I like the khaki color, but it is your truck sir. It would look good both ways. It really does look terrific.
This is a saying I live by, "If it ain't broke don't fix it" So in other words if that beige color is peeling or major damage I wouldn't change that.
TWISTED Scene that’s a shitty saying to live by. No offense. You gotta live a little.
@@14jopy True but its justification of the fact that it's a daily driver. It is up to him I say it looks good and if isn't damaged then I spend my money else where.
I use this saying a lot being someone who works with mechanical things for a living.
So if his brakes fail because the pads are worn and ended up melting the rotors , damage other parts, and possibly cause an accident and kill someone or himself, that's the only time he's going to fix the brakes??? Don't bother to answer because we both know that you're lying to yourself.
Looks great! I'm thinking of doing my entire truck with this stuff. I'll probably just start with the hood and the roof which has faded very badly. I might throw a tint and make it silver or metallic looking. I always liked the metal look. But this video was very helpful and I'll going to check out the 2 year review.
Did you wait for raptor to dry before removing tape? Or is it better to remove tape when wet?
*Bump
I wanna know this too. I've painted stuff before, waited too long and then it was a mess trying to take the tape off but if I too the tape off too soon, it was stringy and left paint strings either on the newly painted surface or the surface I just protected.
I'm gonna go with take the tape off before its dry. Itll he a bitch otherwise
I'd wait 10-15min after spraying so it is semi-set.
Take it off when wet..
jrg10332 hahaha good advice
I was going to say you should paint the whole truck....it looks great
Nice video truck looks good.
Out of all zeros vids i cant believe this gets the most views.. a simple truck is trumping modified evos and rare jdm Z.. lol so weird
Lol. True story
I’m surprised at how great it looks.
