Once I ended up running through some raspberry bushes and totally scratched up my legs just a few days before a big trail race. My wife asked me "What happened to you?" 😏

Never heard of this place so I did a search. Beautiful place for a run. Surprised there are only about 15 miles of trail. It seems big enough to have much longer trails. How do they handle the 100 mile and 100k races? Run laps?
Good evening, I have a meniscus and I do not know when I will have knee surgery. I wanted to ask a question. I have asics novablast 1 my question is HOKA in general is it softer than asics?
How do you choose your trail routes? I'm guessing the usual suspects (AllTrails, etc) of crowdsourcing may not work since there aren't that many runners in IA?
Any tips on descending when trail running? I feel like I’m either braking too hard or getting out of control / too fast on the technical trails I run and that will trigger my IT band issues.
I sometimes zig-zag on steep downhills. You can also keep your legs wider apart and hop more side to side so that your feet don’t get in front of your center of gravity. It also helps balance to hold your arms out. My coach is an ultra trail runner even though I’m a roadrunner but I’ve learned some of this in his clinics.
Do have the gopro in your hand the duration of the run? I’ve been wanting to buy a gopro to take video clips while running/cycling but doesn’t want to hold it the whole time. There is a 100 mile and 100k race there is October and it is the most amazing race. Awesome to see it again.

I got lost as well when I went to the Mines of Spain
I did my first 50k there this November. It was a good experience, but as a high schooler, I think I will do the 25k if I go back next year.
