- I did not expect this to happen fishing for smallmouth and saugeye in Alum Creek! This beast gave my bass tackle a run for its money. I am still in disbelief after being able to land a fish like this on 8lb fluorocarbon leader..Should I chase these fish more often?! I might have too! I know one thing for sure Alum Creek will definitely see more of me this year. What a way to start the fishing season! This keitech easy shiner has been crushing it for me lately!

have you tried to fish the lake right next to here otterbein lake ive fished it a few times only cames up with some decent sized bluegill hybrids no bass unfortunately
I caught some bass there but nothing crazy. I seen a few nice ones though.

Awesome catch. I fished that spillway all the time. I Have hooked a Musky twice there last year and they’ve broken me off due to inhaling a Joshy and cutting my line. That flow was about perfect to get the fish biting there. Keep the content coming.

I've fished that pool since I was a kid and have caught and witnessed some amazing catches. I caught a Northern Pike about the same size as that muskie back in the 90's and I saw another guy catch a paddlefish which blew some minds.
Dang a paddlefish would be a special catch!!

One of my honey holes on the creek! The best place to fish is right below the lake. Way more fish anyways

@@thecreekcrawler i was curious about leader bc the teeth. in my last video I had a 1.5 lb bass break 6 lb fluoro leader bc it was in the gripper teeth. landed it but still.

I'm in Ohio and we use those keitech baits as well. They do so well. We catch tons of crappie over at CJ Brown. We also hook into the muskie there.
Yea they are great but don’t last too long! The Winnow would withstand a few muskies I’m sure
1Rod caught a big musky here when he was in Ohio. The pond on the back side of that dam is a bass hotspot.
I did notice that as well! Maybe another day!

Alum Creek is the tailwaters of Alum Creek State Park. Musky are found throughout the stream

U should fish the Mohaning River . Warren Ohio. Raccoon city kayak area. Levittsburg. The damn there. nothing smaller than a 42incher.
I will look into it man!! I am not a huge musky guy but they are fun. Ill wait until the cooler months when it is safe for them.

Seen that muskie or its family still in that corner just a few weeks ago. Gave me a spook while I was staring into the deep. Caught my first in March just down stream from there, off a feeder pond.

Last spring I hooked in a 40+ inch musky with an ultralight. I fought it for about 5 minutes before it jumped and spit the hook. It was a great fight. I wish I could have got it on video.

I try to target the walls as much as possible! Predatory fish will pin baitfish alongside dams and other concrete structures!
