When my daughter was born 42 years ago, there was a clear expectation that I do everything other than her father's job! Being I subscriber for many years now, I got tears in my eyes when Elena said she has never been happier. I started following La Vagabond in middle school when I joined my Varsity sailing team and I've been here for the journey ever since. I've not only watched you guys grow throughout this time, but I have watched myself grow up. I'm now in my freshman year of college and there is absolutely nothing that calms me down more after a stressful week of classes than watching an episode. All of my roommates hear me going on and on about the channel constantly. I wish nothing but the best for you two and cannot wait until the day I take my life in a similar direction. I love the combo of lifestyle/landscapes interspersed w gorgeous rigging. I'm not sure how many of your viewers sail at this point, but as a sailor I personally appreciate the closeups of the lines - pulling in the code D before the storm - tying knots - shit like that. Additionally I've got a toddler, and I live in a 12' wide house, so I have some tips about keeping a baby boy entertained in small spaces. Good luck haha! My boy was drooling like crazy from like 4.5 mo - 1 yr!

I sailed on a beautiful lake with my dad when I was little and up until I was a teenager and older. I know it is not the same as sailing on the ocean but it is great either way. Lots of fun and learning how to sail. The best!

Letting you know something I'd never heard before an old time Dr told me.... The young infant's digestive system is beginning to grow and develop getting ready for solids when they begin to drool excessively months before teething. This has been such a helpful tidbit of info for me as I've raised and fostered many babies.

It's so hard to watch our children when they are sick or injured. Elayna, I could see the hurt in your eyes when Lenny was crying. My daughters are 39 and 33, and it STILL hurts when they are hurting. My dad told me something the day my oldest daughter was born, and it's stuck with me. "You'll discover your children will be the source of your greatest joy, and also your greatest pain." So, so true. He also told me something 2 nights before he died which has me tearing up a little as I think back our conversation. "Son, no matter how old you get, no matter how old I get, you are still my little boy." And he was absolutely right. Enjoy and remember ALL of the experiences you have with each other and your "little man". The way you guys are living your lives, focusing on your love for each other and for Lenny, will be an amazing and wonderful legacy. You guys are living life one day at a time as it comes, accepting it and not trying to control it.I really enjoy your videos and sharing with us yourselves and your son. Thank you both!! what a great family you have ! they make this stone necklace for lenny . sort of natural color on brown side .i had buddy w 2 girls and son w 2 boys . believe or not ,stops a lot of teething problem.$ 30 to 50 range . both swear by it and have never taken it off . 6 months to 3years old .keep that boy on boat,safe travels

Little guy might have crowning teeth..before you left the US hope you got some teething rings..there is some really good ones available, and if you chill them a bit, it often helps w/the discomfort, although some tots like them at room temps. Can also make their tummies bother them a bit at 1st, but hopefully that's over by the time this vid posted. Hope you are all well :)

Best episode yet. The sunny parts stand out against the travails of parenthood. That last bit of talk drinking wine could have been a a small staged play. My, how you've deepened as characters! I wonder if you'd thought of doing an episode just on the actual detailed making of one episode. I mean, thinking aloud before picking up a camera, the lengths you'll go for a shot, what kind of laundry list of shots do you carry in your mind, but more than that. What are you thinking as you're setting up to edit? How ever do you manage to keep track of all your footage? What do your bins look like? What's a timeline look like? What are you seeing in other people's videos that influence you in particular? What has been your evolving thinking about YouTubing, filmmaking and the like. Have you been interviewed on this? (sometimes that can help unpack ones process.)
Been waching a couple of your vids over the years. Its amazing what kind of freedom and friendship (is that why the word has "ship" in it?) a boat offers. Fantastic journey you have done, wich you keep altering and still doing! Im from the north where the climate is colder and im not really a seafearer, i get sick easy, but waching you guys i get an urge :-). Maybe that seasickness can be controlled?

I really enjoy the night conversations. I get the all the senses of a full day and being tired, sharing stupid moments of the day that seem way funnier than they are, as the wine warms me up and I get all sleepy.
I heard E on the vid intro: 'Never been happier in my life,' which ottermatically got my attention. I started watching this video ticked off, in a different mood than the otter ones, muttering, "Happy? Happy?! I don't know if I've ever been happy IN MY life! Must be nice to just say 'I'm otter here, Florida," and sail away to an otter place!" I dived into the episode and by the time the sun melted red into the sea, E talked to the camera like it was an otter crew member friend she was confiding in, and R brought everyone into the Bahamas safely and the baby was calmed otterly and the video atmosphere was one pleasant otterworldly bliss of red wine, I was ottermatically on board again. Otterly good feeling about this vid. Muchos gracias, as they say in Coober Pedy and some otter places, I'm sure.

what a great family you have ! they make this stone necklace for lenny . sort of natural color on brown side .i had buddy w 2 girls and son w 2 boys . believe or not ,stops a lot of teething problem.$ 30 to 50 range . both swear by it and have never taken it off . 6 months to 3years old .keep that boy on boat,safe travels

Riley singing in the morning, what a site that had to be in person! Little guy might have crowning teeth..before you left the US hope you got some teething rings..there is some really good ones available, and if you chill them a bit, it often helps w/the discomfort, although some tots like them at room temps. Can also make their tummies bother them a bit at 1st, but hopefully that's over by the time this vid posted. Hope you are all well :)

Best episode yet. The sunny parts stand out against the travails of parenthood. That last bit of talk drinking wine could have been a a small staged play. My, how you've deepened as characters! I wonder if you'd thought of doing an episode just on the actual detailed making of one episode. I mean, thinking aloud before picking up a camera, the lengths you'll go for a shot, what kind of laundry list of shots do you carry in your mind, but more than that. What are you thinking as you're setting up to edit? How ever do you manage to keep track of all your footage? What do your bins look like? What's a timeline look like? What are you seeing in other people's videos that influence you in particular? What has been your evolving thinking about YouTubing, filmmaking and the like. Have you been interviewed on this? (sometimes that can help unpack ones process.)
Been waching a couple of your vids over the years. Its amazing what kind of freedom and friendship (is that why the word has "ship" in it?) a boat offers. Fantastic journey you have done, wich you keep altering and still doing! Im from the north where the climate is colder and im not really a seafearer, i get sick easy, but waching you guys i get an urge :-). Maybe that seasickness can be controlled?

Are the engines on your boat gasoline or diesel powered & how many 1 or two engines & are they fuel injected & how many horsepower & how many gallons do the fuel tank or tanks hold ? How many gallons of fresh water , black tanks hold & gray water tanks hold ? Does La Vagabonde have air-conditioning & can you run it on the solar panels & battery bank ? does it have a clothes washing machine & a clothes dryer ? I love the purple sail what type is it & what is it for & how sails does your boat have ? Hope you don't mind my questions . How many hours did it take you to sail from Florida to the Bahamas ?

I heard E on the vid intro: 'Never been happier in my life,' which ottermatically got my attention. I started watching this video ticked off, in a different mood than the otter ones, muttering, "Happy? Happy?! I don't know if I've ever been happy IN MY life! Must be nice to just say 'I'm otter here, Florida," and sail away to an otter place!" I dived into the episode and by the time the sun melted red into the sea, E talked to the camera like it was an otter crew member friend she was confiding in, and R brought everyone into the Bahamas safely and the baby was calmed otterly and the video atmosphere was one pleasant otterworldly bliss of red wine, I was ottermatically on board again. Otterly good feeling about this vid. Muchos gracias, as they say in Coober Pedy and some otter places, I'm sure.
