    Nice video. As soon as my MN paperwork comes through I'm picking up mine. I have money down and the gun is on hold for me. I saw that a average price for these guns is about $1285 and thats what I offered my ffl guy and he took it. Right now I'm patiently waiting. Have fun shooting. I don't think these guns are considered to be 2011 but more of a 1911 hybrid

      Yeah my state is pretty much full retail but the pistol is so nice I didn’t care lol. Yeah it’s a double stack 1911 so I think that’s what makes it a 2011 style but I could be wrong. Thanks for stopping by the channel!

    I just put couple hundred rounds thru mine and wow what a great accurate easy shooting weapon!
    Ive had two 45 cal kimber 1911s in the past and this is even better. Ill put a red dot on it. What a great conceal carry gun. And the 18 round magazines coming soon. I paid $1369 minus 5% for being a veteran at cabelas.

    Nice pistol, it doesn't bother me at all not having a rail , the barrel is really nicely done also. I would like to shoot it next to my Wilson EDC X9 for comparison and now we are coming of age that we don't have to spend four grand to get a good smooth run. My Wilson is however a really nice pistol and Staccato being butter smooth as well , but i can honestly say that this Kimber will get even better with time as most pistols will improve somewhat but im also very appreciative to good ergonomics and definitely is important to how much one comes to enjoying a fine companion. Great review here and much appreciated 👍

      I agree and now that I have north of 500 the slide feels much smoother so only expect it to run better and better. Would have liked to seen the front sight fiber and tritium at this price point.

      It’s definitely a good alternative to the Wilson, some things I like better. No I wish I could leave this state but stuck here for now.

    Just getting into 1911’s. Started with a Springfield Garrison 9mm and love it, so accurate and fun to shoot; better than any striker fired gun I’ve tried. Looking for a 1911 for carry as the 5 inch barrel and weight of the Garrison is a little much. Rented a Kimber Ultra Carry II and loved it. Wasn’t a fan of the Micro 9. I want to try this KDS9C just worried it might be too large for carry, wondering if you’ve carried it yet and your thoughts? Concealed carry is only way I’d go. I’m going to rent this KDS9C, but I’m also considering the Ultra Carry II and SA EMP (not available for rent tho) We can have the 15 round magazine but I’d imagine the KDS9C is going to be thicker than the single stack 1911s; also how do you feel about the KDS lacking the grip safety? Thanks and great review!

    • @yankeecowboy
      @yankeecowboy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First off thank you for the questions. I’ve been carrying the kds9c for just over a week and the first holster I had was a OWB and it Carrie’s fine but stuck out to much. Then I got the IWB holster and I love it now. It’s as big as a Glock 19 so not too big for carry even though I prefer the micro 9 size. My carry all summer is the sig p938 which is the same as kimber micro 9 so coming from that size it was a small adjustment for carry but again right holster and it’s fine. The grip safety being absent don’t bother me because that thumb safety and you trigger finger are the safest thing your going to get it’s all training. Hope this helps you with your choice as I don’t think you will regret it.

    Another CT resident. You'll have to let me know how this holds up to the warmer months. I don't find the grip texture to be impressive at all, and I am not sure why they didn't add more. If VZ or Lok would come out with grips, I would be a bit more compelled to give this gun a look.

    • @yankeecowboy
      @yankeecowboy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Got mine took to range and after 75 perfect rounds It started failing to go into battery with a new mag. Tried different types of ammo and same problem...any thoughts on what would cause this? Very disappointed with a gun at this price point. FYI I have been shooting for 40 years and I wasn't light racking or anything like that. This is my first 1911 besides a classic colt my Dad used in Korean Confluct. Any advice YankeeCowboy?

    • @yankeecowboy
      @yankeecowboy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I always start with the magazine first,99% of the time is mag related start there next would be guide rod spring and make sure it’s lube well. I took mine dirty and unlubricated no issues. If you try these things and no luck just contact kimber they will make it right but I totally get what your saying. Also before you can try another magazine try loading less rounds in mag and see. That should also tell you if it’s the magazine. Please let me know how you make out
