For All the people hating on the 700 clone actions you do realize some of the best custom actions are 700 clones, terminus, bighorn, Defiance, Gunwerks, Impact precision..just to name a few.
The barrels are designed to be stiff and more repeatable than steel. The cooling factor is a myth and not the intent. Goal is for the cold bore shoot to be no different than a warm barrel. There is a reason competition shooters don't use carbon barrels.
This rifle offers many popular features people are looking for when they put together a long-range hunting "build" but at a price that is significantly less. I imagine they will do very well with it.
While I'm sure that is a fine rifle, isn't it AMAZING that we live in a time where a man can go to ANY sporting goods store and pick up a hunting rifle for almost ANY caliber and it WILL shoot MOA!!! For $500 dollars... OR LESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an awesome time we live in 🙂
@@aaronheath7963 Awesome. I've shot and surpassed the .75 MOA guarantee with Nosler E-Tips. And with the Banish Backcountry suppressor, it's my favorite rifle.

Definitely an intriguing option for when I want a 7PRC, although the new Bergara Carbon Crest in 7PRC is hard to not give the edge. Just due to the fact of how the standard Steel crest in 6.5 PRC has performed for me so far. Any thoughts on the carbon barrel comparison between the two?
Excellent rifle for sure, packed full of features without being super crazy expensive in today’s world 🌎, even though I currently can’t afford it. I wish that this was available in a left hand, but since it’s in that 6-6.3 lb range it can be handy enough. I also like that certain cartridges have shorter more appropriate length barrels. No need for a 24-26 in 308 or 6.5 CM etc…

Nice but, Bergara B14 Carbon Crest ftw IMO :) Though I do prefer HFP I still would run with a Bergara barrel. Ultimately though as I think you covered prior with a barreled action and after market stock you can put together what you want which can compare to some of these rifles but a less cost. Cheers Joseph!
Joseph, love the videos, and love your collaborations with Ron Spomer. However, you didn't tell us the weight of the basic rifle, unless i just missed it. Also, you brag on the accuracy, but don't show us any groups. I expected some video snippets from the range. What is the actual barrel length, up to the brake? You don't have to recite the factory specs, but there are a few things the viewers need to know. You mentioned some of the chamberings, but not all of them. Not a big deal, since the info will be on the website. Thanks for the honesty about the heat issue, and tour knowledge of how it works. I wonder if it would be feasible to have machined a few slits on top for heat to escape? Or does that undermine the grain structure and the integrity? I don't know much about the material properties of carbon fiber except that it is light, strong, and resists warping. Anyway, just a few suggestions. You might make yourself a flash card that you can oist somewhere in your field of view off camera , with a list of points and stats to cover, so you don't forget anything.
I would love to have a weatherby mark v but cannot justify the price. Paying custom built rifle prices for factory guns that from what I have seen have so-so accuracy is crazy. Especially for the guys that don’t reload and buy weatherby ammo at $100 + per box.

I love longer barrels and hate short 22" barrels. Minimum of 24" for standard cartridges like a 708 or 308. If i cant get that in a 24" 708 I'm not interested
Agree, I don't want to fool around with worrying about making loads without fully burning the powder while losing velocity at the same time. I get the desire, but if I want short might as well shoot a 30-30 like the old timers. I want some 28 inch barrels
24” is not at all necessary for most short action standard cartridges, 22” is still fine for 30-06 and similar. 24” is really only “necessary” for magnums. I live out west and have never once wished I had a longer barrel, I even have a 20” 30-06 and don’t feel the small handicap is worth the trade off in how well it makes the rifle handle and snag on brush/timber less.
Nice. But, I do not hunt with loud brakes, nor long cans which can loosen. My concern is, if I hunt without the brake, will recoil drive the triggerguard into my middle finger knuckle because of the Sniper style vertical grip? Ouch, at the bench! That's why I prefer traditional grips for hunting. Perhaps their pistol grip version resolves this?😮

Got this rifle in 308Win few months ago. I was excited getting it because of really good reviews, but... taking it to a range raised a concern. It does not shoot any better than 2 moa. It paired with Primary Arms 4-16x42 FFP. I tried different ammo from 150 to 180 grain, Federal Fusion, Hornady SST, Norma, Winchester XP. I can shoot my Browning X-bolt 308win same ammo 1moa all day long, but this rifle. I replaced already factory trigger tech with next level trigger tech 1.5-3lb. But still same result, no better than 2moa. Now my next step would be replace cheap stock (it plays a lot at forend) with GRS. What I really like is bolt designand the fact it came with muzzle brake, and fluted barrel.
This rifle does not have a cheap stock lol. Are you talking about a Weatherby Vanguard or another version of the Weatherby 307? The peak 44 Carbon fiber stock should not have an issue with flex.
@TheCodyO well, it is not a quality stock at all, it is made with good things in mind but does not work well. It has flex play at very end of forend. I have replaced it with GRS stock, it was pain in a b..t to do it because I had to fit it in mag inlet and I did a bedding job, but it was worth to do it. Now it shoots about 1 moa or slightly more than moa, my criteria is 5 shots.
