  • Jordan Shallow welcomes OG Canadian BodyBuilder and HD Muscle athlete Mike Van Wyck to RX’D Radio this week. Mike is one of the largest bodybuilders to hit the Pro stage, now training and running his coaching business - Wycked Training System - out of Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
    Diving into the nuances of his sport, Mike discusses how he creates success in training for both himself and his clients. Mike recounts his worst injuries during his bodybuilding career, from how they happened to how his recovery from these injuries led to his unique perspectives on his training and mobility.

    When Mike brought up transfer of movement from one activity to the next with boxing, that is such a great point. Golf is my shit, we've already seen weight training for nearly every athletic population and this is dope for the world of golf. More and more people are getting into training to improve their game. The area this is the most impactful to me is alot of athletes want to gain power/speed and timing, the transfer of the mental game is also where it's at. Say you're about to hit a particular shot. You go into your "swing feeling" inventory and think of what you need to accomplish, visualize and then hit. I pull this mindset over from the gym. Just like picking up a weight to target a certain movement. Thanks for sparking that thought!
