I like the broom and mop holder. I just used Command hooks in a row and hooked my broom and mop, etc. I never get tired of seeing the before and after shots!

New builds in planned communities often have generic wood shelves and leave much to be desired in the way of adjustable design. Would you do a vlog post (or have you done one) on maximizing generic closet designs without investing in expensive systems?

I’m from NC too and with the ice and snow we got this week, I used the time to redo my wire shelved pantry and used your idea of dollar tree foam board and shelf liner to cover the racks so they are beautiful and more importantly functional (no more items falling between the wires!) Advice for you my friend, she has a long lifetime of stuff to go through. These things are important to her or were at one point. Take it slow, share memories, ask her to share stories about items, have fun with it, make the downsizing a fun new memory of it's own.

No matter what I do...including going to the Dollar Tree website and searching the way you did in an older video, I cannot find a good Dollar Tree near me. I know of one pretty far away - an inconvenience - but it might be worth the trip as I cannot find any of the new 2022 organizing containers you showed in your video the other day. To answer your question, I like rectangles and squares. I like containers that fit neatly together. It feels less cluttered to me. In organization, I need clean lines and mostly the same container. I like containers to face forward and not be angled. I sound OCD, but I'm not. I just know what I like. 😆😆😆
I am literally listening to videos as I am decluttering spaces. I generally am so good at this but often leave certain areas behind. Just listening is keeping me going. I have stopped over buying cleaning items and stuck to the ones that I know work, the Dawn Powerwash being one of them, and that has helped a lot. Dollar Tree for the win! Katherine, I think a lot of reason why these items pile up and people's houses that they don't know how to get rid of them. You can't pour them down the sink. You can't dump them out on the ground. You can't put them in the garbage so they go into a landfill and many recycling centers do not have appropriate places for household cleaning products. It's quite a dilemma to recycle these things responsibly. That's why it's a good thing to get organized and then only buy what you need at the time that you need it.
Kathryn, I love all of your videos! I would love to see you “declutter/reorganize” every room of your dad’s house. He actually looks pretty tidy but it is so fun to watch you turn these spaces into organized and beautiful areas. Maybe you could do a series-a different room every month? I just stumbled upon your videos this past week and they're definitely giving me the motivation to pick my decluttering back up! My main question in all the decluttering is - where do you take the things you got rid of? I know for a lot of things, they can be handed off to the local thrift store. But what about unsued/half-used cleaning products, like in this video? That's my main roadblock at the moment.

Always love your ideas. When it comes to the 3 tier drawers I only use them for my front door closet to keep hats and gloves in and for my daughters play kitchen toys
Awesome job , I have an older home built in 1952 and it’s small. The hall closet width inside is 21 inches, but it’s deep. I’m in the process of trying to declutter and reorganize but our dollar tree stores are not as nice as the one you have. Thanks for the video. Time to get rid of all those “rags” I might use someday, lol
If you're a handy person, you might want to check out Ana White's channel. A couple of months ago, she did a video where she turned a fixed kitchen cabinet shelf into a pullout. It didn't take much money, because she used the shelf that she removed as the bottom of the pullout.

This was another beautiful transformation! I have such a hard time just letting go. I have turned to donating what I can because I don’t want to just toss things that I think still have use even if I don’t have a use for them any longer. Washer and dryer too white, what about a industrial or wooden contact paper to snaz it up. And btw, I felt the pain for getting rid of his purge of stuff. With shelves getting emptier for the next 3? yrs, we need to put all that in a box in the garage labeled, stock items, might need, look here before you go to store label.
I agree about relocating the cleaning products rather than donating them. One of my DT's is looking like it is going out of business and I had problems in the grocery store. I decluttered under my sink before Christmas and found some Spic and Span Multi-Surface cleaner I didn't know I had and I already used half the bottle. I have 2 dust pans. One is for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. I bought that blue DT duster for the car. It is great for dusting between the dashboard and the windshield.
Great video. My family has a photo of my grandfather outside your families store. What a small world. I need to find someone who will come help me organize my house bad. I'm a crafter and I hoard my craft supplies. I have been trying to do it on my own but I'm also disabled and have a problem working too long I usually can work a half hour to hour then I'm done for a day or too. My stuff is taking over my house and my life making my husband and I depressed. I have tried some of your tips and ideas they are working to a point. Keep up the awesome tips. My personal preference would be anything natural, like the woven basket and wood look, but the plastic containers from DT look great too. This was another beautiful transformation! I have such a hard time just letting go. I have turned to donating what I can because I don’t want to just toss things that I think still have use even if I don’t have a use for them any longer. And btw, I felt the pain for getting rid of his purge of stuff. With shelves getting emptier for the next 3? yrs, we need to put all that in a box in the garage labeled, stock items, might need, look here before you go to store label.
I agree about relocating the cleaning products rather than donating them. One of my DT's is looking like it is going out of business and I had problems in the grocery store. I decluttered under my sink before Christmas and found some Spic and Span Multi-Surface cleaner I didn't know I had and I already used half the bottle.
I have 2 dust pans. One is for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. I bought that blue DT duster for the car. It is great for dusting between the dashboard and the windshield.
Great video. My family has a photo of my grandfather outside your families store. What a small world. I need to find someone who will come help me organize my house bad. I'm a crafter and I hoard my craft supplies. I have been trying to do it on my own but I'm also disabled and have a problem working too long I usually can work a half hour to hour then I'm done for a day or too. My stuff is taking over my house and my life making my husband and I depressed. I have tried some of your tips and ideas they are working to a point. Keep up the awesome tips. I can't believe how big the boys are I started watching you when you were still teaching and Carson was so little. Love to you and your family. Take care, be safe, try to stay healthy and happy.

I love both versions. My personal preference would be anything natural, like the woven basket and wood look, but the plastic containers from DT look great too.
