    What really surprised me was how stiff this nib is - the hardest i ever fixed, it is very hard to straight it and tune it without apply relatively a large amount of force. thank you for the video.

      Yup - I can confirm the above ! its not like stiff as a nail but it tends to come back to its original shape all the time and it requires huge pressure to off set it to sit with one of the tines higher or lower. Ive did adjusted one of these a long time ago and I did it without removing the nib and it was a hour of work and stress - with the others I proceeded by removing the nib and continuing the adjustment separate to the pen, that is a touch more easy but its difficult because not everyone knows how to take one of these out or put it back properly

    I think it looks so much more fabulous in black than the red. ❤

      Confirm.... You would think that in red is more flashy but actually the black is such a good choice as well

      :D Its such a difficult pen to restock on even on our side ... its amazing

      Ah one day, one day. Is it different to the Customer Urushi? That has a number 50 nib, but is a lot cheaper. I prefer the emperor’s design. The custom Urushi is massive.

    The nib comes out much easier with less force required, if you twist slightly as you pull to remove. Rubber latex gloves provide good grip for this process too, and saves you getting inky fingers.
    One other thing, on my Namiki art series there is a little removable rubber gasket inside the section. Be mega careful not to lose that. Not sure if the emperor has one also.

      hmmm that seems to be a good idea with the rubber gloves ... it never came to me to use them for grip :D ill try that - when you say namiki art series you mean the yukari nipon art? or which model actually - the emperor doesnt have any gaskets or rubber things

      Namiki art Phoenix.
      Seeing as you are a Namiki dealer. I would like to know the price for a replacement nib for a yukari royale. Can you help with that?

    Wait??! Did you add a black #50 to your personal collection?! Nice content - good to be reminded it's just like any other pen!

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      :D hehe - this black beauty belongs to a friend of mine that wanted for me to have a look and clean his pen - remove his nib and everything, I still have my red one but its lent to someone and the only available pen "outside of the store inventory" was this black one :D - thats the whole point of the content, big or small - its still a writing instrument just like all the others, principles applied are basically the same - with care and patience we can also take care of this one at home ourselves

    How can they tell you removed the nib, to void the warranty? Asking for a friend.
    P.S. The two emperors I have, in both of them the nib is directional. it can go in one of the two orientations---180 degrees from each other. What I am not sure, is whether one side is the correct, and the other side is incorrect way.

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  ปีที่แล้ว

      its hard to tell if a nib is taken out or not, but I think its based on first what the owner will communicate to the dealer/to the brand - secondly is about certain signs that for normal people are missed (small scratches or scuffs due to removing and inserting the nib back).
      Based on what I've seen on a few emperors in my collection, I found no orientation or guidance channels at the nib/section - do you have the old nib one?

    • @Shak-MD
      @Shak-MD ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pen.venture I have two new ones. While the nib inserts in any orientation, the feed sits incorrectly when out of those two positions. One of them is leaking hard when the knob is opened---it is not supposed to leak drops of ink out. But it does when it is nib down. I tried to see if it was set incorrectly---correcting that did not help. It sill leaks a few drops when I first start using it, even if i hold the nib up to equalize the air. It eventually stops leaking, so it is an intermittent problem. It is less than a month old...I feel like they should honor their warranty and fix this 2000 dollar pen.

      @@Shak-MD Please note that if you bought your pen in the USA, it is illegal for a company to void your warranty just because you removed the nib and/or feed; they have to demonstrate that you broke it while doing so and the burden of proof is on the manufacturer, not the customer. See Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, which the FTC has reiterated on multiple occasions over the past few years to make it clear that this is indeed still illegal.

      @pen.venture  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should! Big or small - expensive or affordable, the humble pen works relative on the same principle, taking a nib out on this pen or any other is more similar than you may expect :D

    This will be quite helpful... I must buy that rubber thingie first because I got a double wammy with my bf
    Our Faber-Castell pen + 2 kawecos => Barely any force or wiggle needed to remove the feed-nib
    Our 2 Jowo n6 combos => Held together with the power of magic dust and friendship
    They won't come apart, gotta try the rubber thing eventually

      That is nothing but a pice of rubber from a bike wheel inner tube, cut into a square to have better grip and a rather smooth surface to not scratch the nib :D - another tip would be to use a hair drier and to get that section a little warm before extraction if its tight It can make a little bit of play and room when its warm and it can help

      @@pen.venture Update, my father gave me a piece of rubber from a busted tire.
      I can understand why the shimmering ink I tried some time ago was such an issue... It seems that either in the factory or in some way something like dirt, oil or something was coating the underside of the nib and trapped the ink into itself... cleaned up everything after removing the nib-feed unit without issue... And it works like a charm, really hecking smooth o7

    You might want to light some candles for good luck and then sprinkle holy water on the nib before proceeding. I wonder if you could make a rubber mold to go over the nib and feed to remove them carefully. Thank you for your video presentation. Take care.

      That's a good idea! :D having some extra help from outside factors may be helpful :)) - told or not, there are so many sizes and types and shapes that I think it's contraproductive to have a fixed tool for all of them, my inexpensive rubber pad works wonderful

      Hey there - we can offer you our platform for the consignment section but its a process that can take a little time and some cost, or you can try to see for a first option if listing it for sale on the Instagram @virtualpenshow profile can find you a buyer for it. If that doesnt help - email us :D
