      On the topic of bots, "Flying chessboard." I know they've taken to providing totally not made-up ""context"" for their links, and that they just try and throw words together (including some from context) to make something sound interesting, but that's still a remarkable pair of words.

      @WhiteWolfiee ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@sakethedpuganti5697 no GM's dont need to calculate more than 3, even Carlsen said that on Lex Fridmans podcast. They look at one line, 3 moves, evaluate. Another line, evaluate. And play. I recommend listening to that podcast. Obviously if moves are forced or there is a checkmate sequence then 5-6 moves can be calculated in the future. Openings are all 1 move calculations. Deciding right there which opening, which variation, maybe choosing a tricky line, deviating sligtly etc.

    • @davhen5874
      @davhen5874 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gms are calculating many moves ahead at a time depending on the position. Easily 10+moves in advance from middle to end game. They recognize weaknesses and imbalances then calculate the possible attack and response. They know what the outcome of the "exchange" will be and understand what the position will be like afterwards if they don't miss a move anyway.

      Chess has definitely grown immensely as a result of him, I used to be one of the only chess players at my school and now almost everybody is doing it (still counts even if they’re below 1000)

    Ah so when Magnus wins 125 games he's the goat but when I win just 20 games in a row with 90% accuracy I'm suddenly a cheater
    Double standards much levy??

    I don't think you will ever see this, but I just wanted to thank you because thanks to you, your videos and chessly, I have been able to push forward and keep learning this game I enjoy so much. So much is it that I have peaked in ELO today (just 710 ELO), I don't have much time to play daily, but I have recently gone through surgery, so now I have more time to watch your videos, study and play chess. I hope that I can keep on getting better and, who knows, maybe one day, if you return to OTB chess, I'll meet you in a tournament, and if not, I will have tried

    I hear a lot about how Fischer's performance at the Candidate's is the most amazing feat ever in chess. This feat by Magnus surpasses that and laps it several times to me.
    Magnus had the entire world gunning for him, analyzing his every move to find an edge somewhere. Yes he has access to engines to, but that just makes it a level playing field.
    125 games without losing. That's so far past sweeping the Candidate's against Taimonov, Larsen and Petrosian IMO, because Magnus was playing against Candidate's level players that whole time.
