Jake, you're such a legend doing what you do. I can't believe that you got yourself into that situation, trying a new competition style in a new country after practicing for a matter of only hours really, and you still turn around and say you feel like you let yourself down.
The standard you hold yourself to is the driving force of your channel, but you gotta remember not to let that standard hold you back. Where would you be if you didn't have the chance to jump off that boat? Is that mental space really what you think you deserve after the amazing things you've done?
You've got a great community built up around you because your content is wholesome and fun and uplifting. Remember to lift yourself up too sometimes. We love you, brother.
I definitely am hard on myself a lot. I think overall I had an amazing time. And I know I just learned everything but based on my training during qualifier I had done really well and then just didn’t perform at the same level so was bummed about that. But I still had a blast and am so glad I went! I appreciate the words and sentiment and it’s something I always have to work to keep in mind.

They actually told me they’ve tried to get to the edge (which is crazy to me) but no one has even gotten that close. I’m sure an actual Olympic long jumper could

1:21 you can't called it "sport" if it is that subjective. I mean "your presence"??? wtf is that even based on😂 Even the AI couldn't judge objectively to that cuz "presence" in definition itself is a "subjective feeling that exert upon the observers" which can be based on many things such as tradition, local culture, belief, etc. until our whole world become a cultural melting pot, we can't judge presence as a fair variable in judging for a "sportform"
Sport in nature MUST as fair, as objective as possible in its judging or scoring system. Team sport makes it easiest by simply let the two competiting teams compete in this dedicated field idealised solely for that sportform(basketball, football/soccer for ex. where you try to push the ball pass thy line or basket). Meaning mathematics should be the tool to use for th judging or deciding factor of winnihn and losing. All th Olympic sports are all definitive in their judging or scoring or win-loss decision. There are clear lines between winning and lossing for competition participants/athletes.
P.S reason why judgement sports never a thing for me... why i dislike drifting as a sport, but as a craft or practice or something one can mastered, i LOVED it. Another example is bodybuilding, unless you make weight as solely variable i.e putting as mass as you can... largest mass wins. And skateboarding competition, those Xtreme things, and many examples... Those i would never consider sport as win-loss decision must not subjective based imho
I urge society not to confuse with sport and skillful practices or a craft or artform one can mastered.
