The designers really want to make us feel like the heroes we play, and Maria Hill already makes me feel like I'm sitting in a big control room with monitors and staff everywhere. "Johnson, radio Coulson to get me intel on that Side Scheme!" "Davis, radio the Circe to deploy Captain America."
It's worth noting that the Decoy will be able to use cost reductions for Tech cards (like Jemma Simmons) and Preparations (if there are any), or other synergies with those cards (like Practiced Plan). I fully agree that in the choice between this and any 2-cost ally the ally wins if there are no other factors, but if you have Simmons in play and can get this for 1 instead and maybe something triggers when you play it or use it?

For the decoy, if you’re playing a scenario that punishes chump blocking, using Global Logistics to stack the deck so you can just soak up a huge boost card will be really satisfying.
APB is a very fun card as well. Yeah it requires a bit of setting up, but it’s set up you’ll want to do anyway and I just see it as a later game card. The fact the damage and thwart can be split is amazing. You could feasibly defeat a wide scheme AND a minion with the one card. It gets around stun, confuse, can handle tough, guard and patrol. Love the flexibility!

All-Points is just the icing on Maria's cake. Such a cool card with real board wipe potential.
I like the Decoy too. I hear the argument vs an ally, but I like the flavor of it.

Life Model is also better than an ally blocking in case you get hit with an overkill attack. Also, I have a feeling that All-Points will be able to trigger off of 7-10 SHIELD supports. If you play Leadership, there's already 6 SHIELD supports you can put in your deck, plus we know of 4 more new ones that will come in Maria's precon deck.

My first impressions are that both of these are slow tempo/start off expensive, but LMD is a useful safety net for a 9 hp hero and APB could go crazy in the late game. Both have good potential! My existing impression that she's a slow tempo hero has only deepened with this, but engine-builders (looking at you Nelson!) and Iron Man fans everywhere are definitely in the right place. I like that APB pushes you towards playing even more supports too, potentially making her even more of a supporty character than she already was. Maybe Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons (1-cost supports each in a SHIELD hero's deck) have a place here to boost APB and find/pay for LMD?!
You’re right! As an Ironman #1 guy, Maria will be a blast to play. I do wonder how often I’ll play LMD but glad it’s there for thematics
Sound assessment I think. She's going to have a rough 3 to 4 rounds most games unless there is something I'm missing.

It's really weird that 1. Both heroes got essentially the same card and 2. That the two versions have different text. The differences make Maria's a little worse, but I don't really understand why they were made to work differently aside from just making sure they work differently. I would prefer if they would generally keep the wording the same for similar effects just to limit confusion for new players.
This all but confirms an ally as Maria's last card. Really hoping it isn't Nick, but wouldn't be surprised if it is.

But man it feels like a bit of a thematic miss to put LMD on Hill instead of Fury. Wish theyd of swapped that one with the EM Shield. Sure, shes used them too, but Fury uses LMDs religiously throughout his career due to his paranoia lol
Im interested but also a little skeptical how much ill like her playstyle. It almost feels TOO support oriented. Like its almost feeling to me like its the rewards part of a campaign turned into a playable deck and im not sure how i feel about that yet.

Yep! VillainTheory previewed EM Shield recently that is very similar!
Kinda fun that they both got such similar cards! To me it ties together the SHIELD theme in that they both have some prepared tech to get out of bad situations.

APB… if I have 4 supports, can I do 1 damage, 1 damage, 1 thwart, 1 thwart?
The art on Life Model Decoy is brutal. Are those things conscious?

I could be crazy but I’m not sure if All Points Bulletin actually does independent instances of damage.
It does have the “for each” and “choose” language, but unlike the examples in the RRG, the “choose” doesn’t refer to a target (meaning you can choose a different target for each X), it refers to which of the two effects you want to do.
Maybe it still works but I’m not sure.
