Well guys this was the trip I done in April 2024 after I had fixed all the issues on the 80.
I made a spontaneous decision to come back to Sweet Water Lodge "AKA Silver Water Hut" and do a clean up that no doubt saved this hut from being overgrown and lost for ever.
Once the track is overgrown it would have been the end of this hut for sure.

Yeah let's hope it's looked after and not destroyed by fools.
It's a really good spot down there plus the Jamieson River is magic.
I'm going to make up some little containers to place under the bonnet but thought about it and put the oil down on the tyres.
I figured that's the entry point they would have had to access haha.
That clip of the Bush rat was in Jamieson hut about 3 weeks ago

It's not the oldest hut out there, but it's there and people have put in a massive effort to construct it.

Is there something you can put in your engine bay to prevent rats eating the electrics? Like something to spray on the wires so they wont bite them? You are not the first person I've seen to have them gnaw at the wires. There must be some deterrent!

Now that would be good, I've always thought that hut would be destroyed by trees falling on it or bush fire.
Like everything it needs to be respected by all who visit it.
@@Bush-Tv I was always concerned about trees. The fireplace inside was in need of attention though, no doubt what caused the fire. It's was such an asset on wet, cold nights.
When I was last there a couple of years back there was a locked gate too that track we walked at least 5 km to that hut
I am guessing the gate is gone now🤔
G'day Terry, there is still a gate but I don't think its seasonal as there was no seasonal sign, But sill not sure. I walked the whole track at night one time, Now that was bit of a challenge in the mud

I concur! I've been there in bad weather and seen mud almost destroy the inside of the hut.
Another time the track out was extremely muddy and almost impassable
Well cobber it's great to see people like you looking after this great Country of ours, only wish I was still living down in Vic and could give you a hand but hopefully some of your supporters will help out in the future, good luck and stay safe Cheers

Great job mate. Have been to the hut countless times. Fly fish the south branch up to the hut and walk back to Wrens along the track. I remember years ago when we could drive down with ease.

Those rats did some good work on a mates patrol at comets flat a few
months ago. Was blue hose but lucky they didn’t get through. Must be something about the blue hose I guess that tastes better!! Cheers

just got in from work and kickin back with the first things first lol....a frothie....nice clean up mate...dam that trunk you moved around looked heavy as F@#K...that blade tore that scrubb and blackberry bushes up....... the creek bed was beautiful...love the sound of running water....so relaxing....dam little bush rats....they are crazy bad with wiring....hope ya got out ok to mate....best of luck on the next one....Awesome Sauce vid....
