If you hit someone with CH 2H at 3/4 screen or more you can actually kill every character in the game at full health if you have 50% tension and full burst. You don’t even need to sneak in a throw, its just a true combo. CH 2H 22h dash c.s 5[d] 5k 6h 236[d] whiff 2p dash 5k 6h 236h.236h dash 6h 236d delay grab 214s Wall Splat 214h
Also you can go into the exact same routing and get a BUKU combo (that doesn’t kill every character in the game) off of a RRC after c.s./5h (less than 3 hits) /2h/2s/5d/214s. Its ~330 damage for most of those starters.
I tested against Asuka yesterday, the combo doesn’t break his mana shield so he has the highest base defense multiplier in the game(0.75) If you have at least 1 bar to start you can do just barely enough damage to kill him(424). Having full tension to start doesn’t make a difference as you build full meter by the time WOL activates. The route I used had a slightly different ender 214H WS > 6H, but it is probably very similar damage.
Really appreciate your breakdown. I was looking for something like this as I've only played strive casually in the past few years, but want to get back in. Thank you for the clarity on Dizzy's nuance.
The strike throw mix in the Wings of Light isn't real against most decent players, as they can just hold down back and delay tech. This beats every offensive option dizzy can do as long as you time it right. It is a decent video, but the 50/50 is not a 50/50 and given that she loses WoL on throw tech, when YRC'd and when Bursted I think you represented the power level of WoL unrealistically. I like a lot of the tech in the video as a whole though, but I'm not talking out of my ass here as I actively set up recordings in training mode against this and crouch block delay tech not only beats every option dizzy goes for, she gets thrown if she doesn't go for throw herself. EDIT: For anyone who cares I recorded what I said here in game, you can find it on my channel. We just gotta make sure the things we call mix-ups are true mix-ups.
@@evilded2 Yeah that feels very intentional on arcsys's part. Like it isn't awful to represent now and then, but you can actually just react to the hitstun from the 2K in the set-up and tap throw and it will beat every option. I think she is stronger than first impressions led people to believe though. We will have to see where she stands in like a month.
@@spellofvishanti delay tech has counterplay, good players also know how to blow people up for it, in a game like strive most characters can just bait a delay tech into TOD
It does not beat every option, delay tech is very easy to bait in strive since throws recover slowly enough that you can backdash or jump and still have time to punish with your big counter hit starter. That's why the main defensive OS against throws in strive is fuzzy jump since it's harder to bait, non ch state, and is more rewarding since you actually punish the throw, but in exchange the timing window on it is more strict compared to fuzzy tech and it cannot be used on guard crush. But that's just how strike throw in strive has always worked, defensive OSs beat layer 1 offense but lose to layer 2, which is why despite all that you will still see people getting throw looped even at the highest level because even defensive OSs can be beat for very high reward so people will still take the throw.
yeaaaa this is just not okay. They badly need to change wings of light to be interactable, maybe just make it a damage bonus type install like call 13c. Idk why the strive devs think tods and unblockables are so cool, while also nerfing zato and bedman's lockdown AND giving ram and goldlewis even more +frames. Why can't they just nerf top tiers outright??? Why the reworks and compensation buffs?
Pal, I know this is not the type of comment that goes in this type of videos, but I need your help, I recently got an excellent gaming laptop and my first game will be GGS, but I have seen several reviews that say that the game was ruined, it is unfair, and that it is not worth it, I want to buy the Blazing version, but I would like to know if today it is profitable or to play it, I love GG, for its story, and this will be my first game, do you recommend it despite that? I would like to know your opinion on this, thank you very much
The game is definitely worth it, I'm not sure what you mean by profitable but I'd recommend it, the blazing version comes with all dlc as well so if you were hesitant you can just get the base game first and add dlc later as you see fit but yes I would recommend very good game
@@Raynfgc Thank you very much, I had that doubt because until now I haven't seen any reviews that talk in depth about it and it put me off a bit, and by profitable I mean that there are a lot of things to do and similar things, I will probably buy Blazing because the base game and the DLCs are more expensive, seriously thank you very much, finally do you have any video or advice for someone new to this game? ^^

The ice field bounce it to get short combo for decent dmg. and ice fish to get mid range pressure. counter heavy 24H then can do big combo because it long slide heavy knockdown. fish to can be use for mix up starter. she got many auto frame trap on her normal that can lead to counter and big dmg. there is many more to her kit. until i discover thisnutt spam. after discover chestnut mail spam, her gameplay start to became ruin for me and i dont think that move is balance and ok for the game. she got many more to discover mechanic. There not yet new mixup from all her other kit, haven yet smart play came out ad they might not be. because everybody just gona nutt spam. her gameplay is unique, and i see her more as technical. yet why that i can just nut spam. i use it just in one match. then i never use it to wall spam again. verry unhealty. i write this after reading dev notic. and the dizzy nutt spam is not being issued, thus it make dizzy not a good character for me. Perfect yet deform.

i don't think the ToD needs full tension, it needs full burst but having full tension for wings if light results in a pretty harsh overkill

If you don't have a guard crush or a ton of plus frames to stagger with strike throw isn't very consistent in anime games.

Not bad at all
Edit-dont forget if you land a counter hit you can wall to wall with 0% tension
Regarding the block string “infinite” make sure to do it spaced out a bit so you don’t get thrown out.
That's a great video, thx

Yeah it's a bit crazy, however you can stop the pressure strings with throw clash yrc and burst, tod is only savable with burst
what about kara cancels with spear? I've been using those for pressure!
Also I LOVE those freeze strike/throw mix

5:31 you don’t need to reset to TOD here
This may be a really dumb question, but isn't a counter hit 2H really impractical?
With how large its upward hitbox is, surprisingly, no
Plus, 2h is your main combo tool after c.s so a simple delay will make it a frametrap on block
Not only that, but since Dizzy 6P is very not great, you’re probably better off throwing out 2H’s against a lot of characters
It’s practical unless your opponent is actually good at the game
You can get it off as an anti-air or from a failed reversal
