Now down to 41% with 59% going to non EU countries.. Just the USA alone receives 22% of the UK's exports, and that without a FTA. I think there are several issues. Yes, we pay our politicians a lot of money to make the right decisions for the country and there probably shouldn't have been a referendum. However, we did have one and it was hardly an overwhelming majority in favour of leaving the EU. The areas that had the highest leave vote were mostly deprived areas that had most to lose from leaving the EU and thus no longer getting any EU subsidies, regeneration grants and the like. I can only speculate as to why that should be. As far as Liz Webster's assertion that farmers were not to blame, everywhere I went in the countryside during the referendum campaign I saw massive billboards in farmers' fields saying 'Vote Leave'. I'm rather surpised that farmers seem not to have done their research on what the impact of Brexit was going to be for them. I'm rather surpised that farmers seem not to have done their research on what the impact of Brexit was going to be for them. She deleted my facts too. She didn’t vote to ‘remain.’ Liz still does not grasp what the E.U. really is since she only discusses how trade only will benefit herself and farmers.
You're given the freedom to vote and that's a blessing. If the People make a mistake, the People is to endure the consequences. 1852, President Louis Bonaparte ended the 2nd Republic with a referendum. 15 years down the line, the French people regretted their decision. War with Germany restored the Republic. 150 years later, France is still a republic.
This 2024 I no longer depend on the government or salary to survive. "Of course, trading is a safer way to make more money now because I have made up to 352,000 thousand US dollars recently. Work will only pay your bills, business will make you earn." You are rich, but trading makes and keeps you rich, the future is inevitable...
How
..? Am a newbie in crypto investment, please can you guide me through on how you made profit?
Thanks to Mr Martin Jossy
he's a licensed broker here in the states
After I raised more than 325k trading with him I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸also paid for my son's surgery (Oscar). Glory to God.shalom.
I'm surprised you mentioned and recommended Martin Jossy. I came across the testimony of one of his clients on CNBC news last week.
Alexandra Hall really nails it in this interview. I was surprised that there were not more rigorous editorial interventions by Times Radio here.
Martin personifies that old oxymoron... British "Intelligence".
Courage is needed and politicians lack courage.
By saying “remain didn’t say anything about farming”, are you still blaming Remain rather than Leave for lying relentlessly??? And the lack of education/bigotry by the farmers to just say “fear project” to fact??? Wtf???
You're totally right. I'm guilty for voting for brevit but we have to suck it up and get on with it. Having starmer will be the problem I'm glad to I didn't vote for Labour .
I honestly think that the whole government should have been jailed for allowing the electorate vote
Now that we're out of the EU our govt needs to grow a pair and stop paying boomers' state pension if they move abroad.
That'd secure my vote 100%.
So sick of these fools. The pivot from Brexit to Trump says it all. A million facepalms...
All I hear is a series of pitiful and ignorant excuses for Brexit underpinned by 'it wasn't my fault, don't blame me for the total disaster that Brexit has proven to be'. If only there had been a group of people saying that Brexit would be a disaster before that bloody referendum...
There were plenty of people saying it but the British public were seduced by the thought of less immigrant workers and immigration.
Or “Brexit wasn't fully implemented” or “It's not the Brexit we voted for” 😂😂😂😂😂
I have always given Cameron the greatest blame for Brexit .,,It is not a referendum matter and very much not a simple majority matter .. That people would not have understood having to achieve 60% for this constitutional change, is just one reason it was not for refrendum ,,, My reason to remain was purely a role for UK in this world after the loss of its historic role ,A new beginning a new future with influence in a body which mattered which had weight in negotiations,
This guy takes no responsibility for his vote
Question. What would the Mercosur deal mean to British farming if we were still in the EU? The French, Polish, Irish & Austrians are against it.
Never underestimate how thick and easily led people can be. Anyone with an element of ability to look in to a subject would see that leaving the EU was a stupid idea (bordering on treasonous by the harm it has done, if only driving a wedge between people living in the UK).
50 billion pounds every year of subsidy for Farmers thrown away!😂
"50 billion pounds"
Not true. The amount is way less.
I thought brixters knew what they voted for - I’m shocked I tell ya.
Your best video yet, I agree with your whole approach…the video with the diplomat and especially the happy cow right at the end 😊
“Blame them Bill!
Blame them!” - JOB
So this caller blames himself for buying into a fantasy, but still thinks Donald Trump will deliver on his fantasy. When do you stop believing in fantasy's?
Your stupidity is good humor. Trump hasn’t even begun his term yet. A rock can do a better job than Biden did. Biden was already in a vegetative state which the Europeans seem to only understand.
Anyone who voted for Brexit, sadly Liz Webster, is at fault for the state we are in no matter what is said or excuses are made. Without their gullibility we would not be in this mess. Perhaps people who voted for Brexit should be more vocal about the error they made.
Yes you can!
Blame the voters 😂
Why has there never been a serious critique of the EU. Unelected bureaucrats have consistently wasted OUR money on very dubious projects, and we have been a net contributor by a long way. In the long term, we will see the benefits of leaving. It’s democracy at work.
Who are these unelected bureaucrats and whose money have they been wasting? Once your taxmoney has left your bankaccount it is no longer yours.
Yes, a lot of Farmers voted for Brexit, but more to the point is the amount of people voting for Brexit as they thought it would be good for Farmers and the NHS. I argued with a lot of friends and family members who said they were voting to Leave the EU to help Farmers and the NHS, so I know this first hand.
If David Cameron were Japanese and honourable………..
I absolutely hate the “It was advisory” line. It patently was not. Look at where we are!
Camoron may have proposed it but farmers overwhelmingly voted for it Liz & still support it according to the polls ! Until those who wanted it admit & accept what they have done then we can’t move forward !
Well, as a farmer, what you should have done is to assess what you’ve got in terms of EU support and look at what you’ll get from Boris, Farage et al. And most of all: how solid their promises are.
And I cannot for the life of me understand how so many British farmers, reputedly a very commonsensical group of people with a clear understanding of how many pennies there are to a pound, allowed themselves to be hoodwinked and led down the garden path by the likes of Boris, a known liar, and Farage, a bluster bag with no substance. They traded off a solid base of support, keeping their farms going, for empty promises from a bunch of spivs and chancers. Oh, and a would be squire straight from the 18th century.
I’ll never believe again that a British farmer has a clear head on his shoulders.
you reap what you sow.... would of thought farmers of all people knew that
Bre-Entry. Imagine the free farming concessions?
It doesn't matter if a referendum is binding or not. It gives a particular option so much fuel that in the end it doesn't matter.
To shift one's own guilt onto others is always only the cheap way out of the coward
Ironic how the UK's wonderfully (un)democratic voting system enabled Brexit. Look at the 2005 - 2015 period and UKIP's inexorable rise in popularity, which is why Cameron had to offer defecting Tories a referendum. Analysis of the 2015 General Election result reveals that the ballots of less than 2000 (switching from UKIP back to Tory) voters across 7 key marginal constituencies gave Cameron his narrow 12 seat Commons majority, after which he had to make good his pledge to hold the IN/OUT referendum - the rest, as we know to our cost........is history!
I wonder how that caller feels when he is now acknowledging that Brexit is a disaster only to hear the likes of Nigel Farage, Richard Tice, GB News Keir Starmer and Ben Habib still insist that we must continue to respect the result of the referendum.
I agree with the caller’s point that there should not have been a referendum, I think that Parliament should have made the decision.
