That probably would’ve traumatized me if it wasn’t for the fact that you play as Melman who was kind of a comfort character for me as a kid because I was obsessed with giraffes lol

Jungle Banquet was always my favorite level. It was so chill and it had so many things to do without any overarching time constraint. It felt so freeing after how directional the rest of the game was
Yeah. There was also Back to the Beach which was kinda the same thing except less chill and you can’t play as Alex lol
Couldn't agree more. Jungle banquet is the only level I remember looking forward to playing this as a kid
Yeeess. It was my favorite level to play. Especially with changing characters and seeing their different little interactions with each other
Penguin mutiny always gave me anxieties
It also had this creepy ass mini game with giant spiders

I played this game so much growing up, and I never realized how horribly programmed the collision is. The thing I remember most is Melman screaming about cars when you fall in that platforming segment.
This is where my arachnophobia came from...

Funnily enough, he actually shouts near the end of the race in the usual gameplay as well, if he's behind. Nice little detail.
Love how this game expanded the Madagascar setting and characters more than the movie did

It technically aligns the jump with the treadmill hitbox so it clips though the fence.
I think it happened to me once when I was little and restarted the game rather than using the exploit lmao

I just find it hilarious that there's a speedrunning community for this game and it actually involves boundary breaking and wall clipping

It's hillarious how speedruns of Fallout 4 and Madagascar take approximately the same amount of time
Madagascar game:
Marty can kick with his hind legs.
Me when I play the game: "Makes sense he is a zebra after all."
Game: Gloria can do her own ground pound.
Me: "I suppose that makes sense.."
Game: Alex can do a double jump and roar causing knock back.
Me: "questionable but okay then."
Game: *Melman can spin around like a fucking helicopter and hover off the ground.*
Me: "ok I'm gonna have to stop you right there."
There was one day of my childhood were I sat and played this on my Xbox for 7 hours straight. One of the best days of my life. Seeing this is just wild
that game with the onions and the spiders was so stressful!
This was my first ps2 game lmao.

this was one part of my childhood i never forgot, and im happy to have stumbled upon it again
i believe there was also golfing in this game that i really liked
the other part was the over-the-hedge game with the cart racing/demolition derby stuff
I guess I'll be editing this with bits and pieces of what i remember, but at 5:35 if you got hit i think you would fly into the screen and I would get hit on purpose to see her slam into the screen, was really funny

i impulsively watched this entire run on a whim in the limited time span i had. i was thoroughly and consistently blown away but the skips and glitches used in this run lol. i played the hell outta this game as a kid, took me literal years of my childhood to even do so, so this was a really fun nostalgia trip to watch after totally forgetting about the game. super nice job mate

Imagine that you're working in this huge ship, patrolling calmly and just doing your usual routine, and all of a sudden, a bunch of penguins start clipping through walls while wagging their entire bodies in an oddly menacing way, only to end up getting bonked by bowling balls thrown at you.
