I am Aswathi Pokkattu, MA Music (Vocal)
Professional singer, Indian Carnatic vocal trainer, Kerala cultural dept Vajra jubilee fellowship & Central govt (CCRT) fellowship holder.
I have been teaching Carnatic music, Light music, Bhajans, film songs etc. for the last 25 years. I am following traditional style, of Indian Carnatic music. Teaching music is not my main purpose, I want to make good citizens, If children hear fine and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.
Also, if you think that you could not learn music when you are young, you can start learning music at any age. Age is just a number. It means that it is not the border of anything. Interest is the key.

Excellent presentation ma'am!!! I would like to place a humble request being a carnatic student- please do not use words like 'varish' which i feel doesnt make any sense at all. It would be always appropriate to use the exact words from our own languages in which this system of music has evolved over centuries- varishakal in malayalam or varisai in tamizh. Personally i feel we should never "english ify" such words that are intrinsic only to our system ..just a humble opinion😊
