In 5th grade I had just moved to a new town, I didn't fit in at all. All the kids thought it was strange that I didn't play a sport and bullied me because of it. Through all the crap I went though there was always one guy I could always count on to cheer me up, MegaMan. He had always been there for me whenever I had a bad day and needed some kind of escape, He helped me through a very tough time. MegaMan will always share a spacial place in my heart because of this.
Thumbs up for your godlike Classic Series collection, man! Also, holy crap! The pages you showed at last said "MegaMan 8: Metal Heroes", just like what the game should have been called like if they were going to take over the subtitles. Never imagined to see anything like this. By the way, if you think US fans have a hard time collecting MegaMan stuff, you sure don't wanna be a European gamer. I swear it's a pain the ass, especially when your locale customs like to let pay even more for import stuff.

@Linkswolfform Once again you're right. That was mentioned in the last Mega Man series video, but I think the guy said it was out on the SNES, in which case he is mistaken as it was a Mega Drive exclusive. It was however released in Europe, as well which was correct.

capcom is the best thing ever in gaming history in my opinion, with so many topnotch series like resident evil (my personal favorite series of all time, with re3, my personal favorite of the series), street fighter, mega man, ghosts and goblins and many more... and then there are all the great disney games they created.. capcom is just pure awesomeness and brings so many great memories of gaming
I love the Power Battle. My local arcade used to have a cabinet that was free to play. I beat the entire thing three times in one day once. I wish they wouldn't have gotten rid of it...
Sweet retrospective. I LOVE this series to heaven. I played these games over and over, and love each of them (except 2 on the Game Boy). Mega Man 3 is my personal favorite game in the series, and is just all around fantastic!!

are you currently getting the megaman archie comics. they are fantastic. Each issue has 2 different covers, one for the robot master, and one that is just the regular awesome artwork
I'm sure you're aware of it by now, since this video is older, but Archie Comics is doing a Mega Man series, and it's awesome - it follows the storyline (more or less) of the original game(s) and has fantastic art as well. I've seen the DW issues, but didn't realize it was only 4 issues, so next time I'm in a comics shop I'll have to add those to my collection.
You only forgot to talk about the Rockman & Forte game that was releases on the Bandai Wonderswam only in Japan. Besides that, excelent review of the series.
I actually ripped out these pages from this one issue of nintendo power where they had all the bosses from mega man 1-8 and what order to beat them in. They did that for the Anniversary Collection game in issue number 182 (it had resident evil 4 on the cover) It was so cool!

Technically there was 5 issues as issue # 1 had a variant cover. I have all 5. I'm surprise you didn't mention the Archie Comics version that is currently out now. That 10th Anniversary book was that the Anthology book that came with Mega Man 8?
Tango wasn't only in Mega Man V for the Game Boy, he was also in RockMan & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chousen Sha for the Wonderswan, the only (?) Mega Man game not mentioned in these videos. The game got poor reviews, but the story follows up on the Game Boy series. Oh, MMI-IV for GB aren't just ports, the levels are completely different (as you say), which is a huge change, you play bosses in different orders, there are new bosses, etc. MMIV particularly is fantastic, one of the best MM games.

Real talk, Mega Man always was a role model for me. Perseverance was a theme Mega Man carried through every series and that's something that affected my life in a big way. I deal with bullshit on a daily basis as did Mega but he never fucking quit and neither did I.

A long-overdue thanks! :D While I doubt I'd get tats (still cool, though), this is my all-time favorite series, and one I recommend to everyone. Easily accessible, extremely challenging, well-made, and just a helluva lot of fun, this whole series had the makings of greatness from the get-go. Its formula still holds up today. And yeah, I'm just a bit excited to see the Blue Bomber himself in the upcoming Super Smash Bros for Wii U. :D

You didn't mention the Game Gear Mega Man game! Do you have it? I didn't see it on the table. It's a pretty rare game, ESPECIALLY with the original box and manual.
I loved watching all 3 parts from start to end. Fantastic review. I like megaman games but I suck at them but they are still fun. I only got X, 8, and the collection for original xbox. If I had a NES I'd try to get some more.

Rob, what did you think of the depiction of Megaman from the Captain N cartoon? I always kinda liked him there.
