I have an old masonry spatula (a rectangular piece of metal honestly, but it was used as such), that I wanted to turn into a proper scraper. Thank you for this video, Mister Blackburn :D

I happened to get my hands on a solid carbide endmill that had chipped cutters (making it useless for its original purpose), the shank makes a great burnisher as carbide is hard enough to cut hardened steel.
The way I find works best is the one described in the 1890:s Teacher's handbook of Sloyd (although I read it in the original Swedish): File and stone the edge straight and smooth and then burnish the face near the edge with a piece of 'glass hard' steel and finally turn the burr/hook over by a single, steady stroke along the edge.

Scrap printer? The rods the cartridges travel on make excellent burnishers. They are also highly toleranced to ensure the print isn't fuzzy.

If you happen to have a handsaw with hardened teeth that can´t be sharpened, don´th bthrow it away once it gets dull. It can still be used to make scrapers.
