It was 1980 when I left Peterboro and moved to Ireland. Forward on to 2023, October v Lincoln. Won 2-0.. Sitting in London Road ( it wont ever be called anything else in my eyes) feeling like a 13 yr old again lol. I'm going back home again in March. Promotion is definitely happening yet again!! Up the Posh!!!!

Just to note about the stand at the far end. Its historically called the Moys End, the current all-seater opened in 2014 carrying a sponsored name. Firstly the Motorpoint Stand, currently the DeskGo Stand.
It is held back to provide a flexible away allocation.
Small allocations get the left side of the Main Stand.
Medium allocations get the DeskGo.
Large allocations get both.
We don’t sell season tickets in there, and if away fans aren’t in there, we’re normally giving tickets to schools and local youth football clubs.

It would be nice to see another team get promoted to the Championship besides Peterborough United. If they get promoted this season it will be the fourth time in just over a decade they have gone up.

Brought back memories when I was a mechanical apprentice i drove up to Peterborough in my old Hillman Minx car on Boxing day to see Gills draw 2 all with the posh. It was a good game with good banter between rival supporters following our both teams getting promoted from division 4 together. Sadly when i turn off the M2 at Gillingham I blew my car up due to lack of oil 😢 UTG

Fellow Gills fan here. Glad that you had more luck than I did to watch a Posh match. Met my son there last season and thought we'd watch P'boro v Charlton, the match was called off at 2:15. Great channel, keep up the good work 👍

Wolves ended up in L1 promoted in first season. Wolves 6 Rotherham 4 still one of my favourite games at molineux.
Yes, good shout, I remember, I was at Wolves v Gillingham in August in the league, I think it ended 4-1 to Wolves ⚽️👍🏻
Went up to Wingate and Finchley V Chatham match called of right on kick-off.Tuesday went to Three Bridges to see Ramsgate pick up another 3 points as Rams won 2-0 and yesterday I was at Borehamwood v Eastleigh in mouth watering 8 goal thriller.
True non league ground hopper, every respect 👍🏻 I’m hoping to visit Ramsgate before the end of the season 👍🏻⚽️
Enjoyed the video Matt - just a couple of nit-picks - Peterborough is a City - not a Town and the ground is now known as the Weston Holmes Stadium not London Road but thanks for the visit and the positive comments even though it wasn't our best performance, especially first half!

Great video, 1934 stand is for like achool kids and sponsors and stuff, when the away fans aren’t in it. It’s unfortunate because it could create a real atmosphere

The actual capacity has decreased due to the new stand behind the goal used to be a terrace and now the safe standing as well in the London road end. It’s just above 13000

@@mattthegroundhopper9242 much as I love my palace have finally established ourselves in premier league, I fully agree, the premier league is just money hungry & loaded with fake fans, the 3 efl leagues are full of true fans & real teams who actually play football for the enjoyment & not for the money, the 3 efl leagues are full of teams that are actually all about the community & give much back to the communities & all 3 leagues are much more entertaining, would rather watch players who enjoy the game & watch a team who have passionate support & loyal supporters & loyal players, than a bunch of primadonnas that play in front of 40,000 plastics, in that sense though, my palace do still bring a little of that to the premier league, a bit of atmosphere, by loyal fans, who, like me, have supported them for way longer than the 10 premier league years, priestfield will always be a more better place to actually watch true football, by true players, in front of true fans, than a old trafford, emirates or amex, where they are just there for a name of a player or name of a club sitting on their hands with a dead atmosphere

@@mattthegroundhopper9242 don’t blame you for not liking preseason friendlies, they not a good advert for how will perform through season, but I do still like to see when they’re back, cos each break feels longer now & it gets so boring without football, so am delighted euros begin shortly, glad to actually see a palace player announced in each position for the euros, usually 1 only for a friendly or a qualifier, occasionally 2 & none for a tournament, so I hope at least 2 actually get a match, reason why I’ve liked Southgate as national manager, he always looks beyond the usual 5 clubs for his players
Great video Matt, and you know i like your honest opinions. Peterborough is not one of the most attractive towns in england, according to various TH-cam Britain channels. Also, Shrewsbury have even scored less goals than our mighty Gills, if that is possible 😂 Shrewsbury is worth a visit on your channel Matt, but no need to rush there 😅 Went there a few times when i was stationed near there, back in the 80s

@@mattthegroundhopper9242 desko stand which was only quarter full is always the last stand to be filled out as it usually is given to the away side fans if they are bringing more than 1000, it's also the newest stand of the 4.
I honestly think from watching us, especially against other top teams, that we're comfortably the best team in league one

Probably one of Posh’s poorer performances this season.
