Which one's your favourite? Please don't take my comments and/or low scores from the community too harshly. We all have started somewhere and have different levels of experience. Car design takes time and lots of trial and error, and at the front there are several people who invested 10+ hours into their build. So let's keep on practicing and having fun! The full race results video currently has an ETA of 1st or 2nd week of January. Stay tuned!
The Edgewater Monaco, looks like a Briggs Cunningham Carrerra Panamericana Special crossed with a Soutchik Coachbuild! She is just so.... *Gasmean* that it hurts! great big Clumsy Puppy of a thing! Lovely to see Il Porcellino in there as well however, well, Lorenzo did *win* the 1100CC class in it!
I don't want to be that one guy as you have put in so much effort. The cars were spinning so fast I couldn't see anything before skipping to the next and was making me queasy. 0.5 speed allowed me to enjoy everyone's fantastic work.
@Spagghetii I do understand and agree that I should probably have given them a bit more time. It was a trade-off I made for not making the video way too long, but still showing every entry. I am sorry that it didn't work out too well
Huge thanks for putting this together and everyone involved. I slapped the Mertin together not long before the entry deadline (super new to automation) so all criticism is welcome. I'm just happy to be here. Rank 165, "Sport" Derpmobile is ready for the race! 🎉
92nd for the looks department? Considering my competition of absolute magicians in this game, I'll happily take that 💪 Wonderful to see this video at last, keep at it mate ❤
HOLY CRAP! I didn't think the Cannoa Speciallitto would appear in the vídeo! I really tried to make the rear look different since it was inspired by Brazilian and Italian design at the same time, in the following event i will try and make something closer to a Gurgel, a Brazilian brand that sadly went bankrupt long ago because of taxes. And this time I won't go over budget! Thanks for your amazing content and attention to the fans, dude!!!! 😊
Leaving some cars out of the video just because they are scoring too low was never an option. I didn't want it into a elite-players-only showcase, but have something for everybody no matter the skill and experience. Just like the real Mille Miglia was :)
Привет из России 🇷🇺, люблю смотреть ваш канал, и тематику автоспорта вашей страны. Смотрю с помощью переводчика в браузере, который работает через Искусственный интеллект.
I thank you for letting people of all skill complete, You are the reason I began playing automation, and participating in this has caused my designs to take a noticeable increase in quality as this competition forced me to even attempt to model an interior as well as consider more realism in terms of mechanical performance, You fuel the community so much, and I look forward to any future competitions. Thank you so much!
28th? Jeez, I didn't see that comming at all 😂 Thank you so much for the event! I hope we will be able to participate in other similar competitions in the future. Congrats to the winners, awesome job everyone!
Mica from the Zeppelin at 9:24 here - So close to a podium! Let's see if in-class, we could perhaps eek out a podium in the final standings... :) to be honest I really thought we could pull off a podium finish in this video. I'm less confident in our performance this time... but we'll see :)
That's me at rank 29 at 5:27 with the Kriss 1500. I found that body to be extremely difficult to work with in the rear, when using any taillight shape that wasn't circular the indented fixture definitely needed to be added and personally I think the smaller styling touches add more realism. This is probably the automation car I've spent the most time on and in the 3d lightroom within automation it really looks like it could have actually been made as a small american car in the early 50s, with some european flare. I will admit though, the rear end is more late 50s or 60s, I believe the shape of the car really ended up necessitating that.
It really could use more morphability, anyway there's no reason for me to complain. A lot of the cars I rated very highly and considered great for the effort and execution were not particularly attractive. If you do another community event it might be interesting to divide the rankings into multiple criteria.
Man, by looking and listening to the feedback you've given to these builds, I learnt a lot. Wouldn't have thought this could work as a tutorial for cars of such a romantic era of cars and motorsports!
Thanks! I enjoy recreating historic events with cars a lot, so it is not just "work" for me. But yeah, next time I need to make the handling of all the entries a bit more efficient :)
thanks for doing this! my guppy was pretty plain, and the rally lights critique is very fair - i definitely shouldn't have used the covers, they would have just unmounted the aux lights back then rather than putting a cover on when not needed. was very cool to see wyans have a similar idea to mine (even including the cut rear bodywork) and do it far more justice with the detailing! can't wait to see the rest of you along the track :)
Holy hell I got 40 out of almost 300 entries I can't believe it I never would of dreamed I mean some of the car's that were entered I felt were far better looking then my fireball 16
pretty happy with 22nd in Touring! I really think I stepped up my design game on that one. I haven’t been really involved in Automation recently but I’m absolutely still checking in to see the results of this fantastic challenge!
This challenge was so much fun! And my result of p120 was better than expected, especially since it was my first car with more then 15 minutes spent on the design XD. Super excited for the race!
Pretty happy with 52 in sports, didnt expect everyone to be scaling down their plates! Most of the rear body is 3d fixtures, but I paid close attention to the reflections, so it blends nicely.
wow 23rd in sports! pretty good for the 5th car I ever made in automation, and only the second one with an interior! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time watching this, waiting with less and less cars to go, so much anticipation for the race now! I hope my engine and mechanical specs work well. note to self: default headlight size is 5 3/4 inch not 7. I have gotten better at design since, and now notice that the headlights should be half the width of the 14 inch wheels lol.
Dang, if I'd have heard of this competition, I might've joined! Oh well. At least we all get to look at some cool designs! And hey, if there's a '54 edition, I'll be sure to have a go.
13:20 Conrad Skittles might have applied to the millimonte by mistake but his is my favourite entry lol One bit of criticism, I would rather you point out something you like about the car rather than giving criticism. I think it'd make for a more positive video overall. But that could just be my taste
Yeah that was my fear that it would turn out too negative. Maybe next time I'll habe pros and cons, and focus the cons on cunstructive criticism a bit more (I already tried this time). Another idea was to also split the voting into multiple categories like detail, creativity, craftsmanship, ... to give more context to the score
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AVA MARIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! btw i'm still sorry I was an order of magnitude over budget, it really did just slip me by, I didn't mean to submit something you would have to spend the effort striking, I just missed the extra 0.
"trying too hard in the rear" yeah that's fair lol - still happy with how it came out. Not sure why I got disqualified on budget - I thought I'd double checked that I was below budget, but maybe I misunderstood something or was looking at the wrong row.
Maybe you just looked at material cost? I am away from the PC for the next days so I cannot triple-check. I was very cautious disqualifying cars, so I am pretty sure something was off. Every disqualification really hurt me though!
I knew I wasn't going to win Corso d’Eleganza, but at least I know that I am not disqualified, and how many competitors are in my category. I'm really excited to see, if I'm a better engineer than designer 😅
Hey, 30th place in Sports isn't too bad all things considered. Highest sub-7 score, too! Edit because I forgot to mention this earlier: the criticisms are completely understandable, honestly I just couldn't find any pieces that would look nice in the cutout areas. The rear aero cover and rollbars are just there to fill the rear roof cutout gap, and I couldn't find a one-piece windshield that looked good, so I went for a split window design. Even so, I wish there had been some small semi-circular windshields, those would've been way better.
Yeah sometimes you have to be very creative and look in other fixture categories to find a nice shape and then apply different textures (i.e. glass). I don't have a direct recommendation right now, I would need to try out a few things myself.
I secretly hoped for more than #162, but the competition is very rough. I spend much more time on the engineering than on the design, hopefully it paid of in performance 😅
Number 101 (18:56) in the sporty section Now that I’m seeing it again I understand the note: my car is much more an artisanal build meant for rally than a production one meant for a road rally And I’d love to know what was found inconsistent for improving my future build
Inconsistent is maybe not the best word for it, incoherent might be better. I felt that there could be more of a connection front to back, the the vent before the rear wheels and the large "door" cutout really broke any flow on the side. What I actually liked was the vent setup on the engine cover. There you really followed the contours of the body very well
I don't host these challenges very regularly, but if you take a look here, this is how it worked for the Mille Monti: th-cam.com/video/obmDL3z07QE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=swKOFXmk9Nu6VfCF there is another video posted after this one explaining the process in more detail.
i am really suprised i didnt get last place lol , 3.7 is actually good considering its one of the first cars i put effort into . Cant tell if "revolutionary simplicity" is supposed to be good or bad
Are the cars from this competition available to download anywhere? Preferably in one place? So many cool designs, would love to play around with them sometime.
No, they are not available. I would need to get permission from each individual player to make them available. My recommendation is to ask specific players directly on the Automation Discord server
@the.bavarian Understandable, thanks for the answer. Perhaps consider a system for getting permission from contestants for future contests? Send them a form where they can opt-in and sign their permission for distribution or something. Food for thought.
@the_real_Kurt_Yarish yeah I already asked for permission to be able to use the designs in a monetized video here. Not a problem to add another checkbox in the future!
We will never know what people were really looking for and we also didn't have an expert-only jury, more like a popular vote. In the end, P21 ist still very good!
Understandable on my Seabee but just as a question does the rivets make it better with or without I know they're almost invisible to the naked eye but would it look worse without or? You looking for additional feedback would love to do this again tho
Yes the rivets are almost invisible, but a good detail. But I was more wishing for other major things. For example some mirrors would already have helped tremendously and wouldn't have needed a lot of effort.
@the.bavarian thanks completely forgot about that building it and I guess I forgot indicators too😂. Thanks for giving honest reviews agreed on almost everything 👍. How did you make your rivets more visible?
I could agree with most placements here but how did the second 1st place @10:20 rank so high? The front is so squished and makes no sense fixture-wise. I liked the rear bumper design though
I guess taste is different for everybody! I would have scored many cars a bit differently, but we had many voters (100-200 for each car), so the results are representative enough. Sometimes it can happen that some people vote a bit higher for people they know, (like for my entry).
There is no download unfortunately, as I won't distribute the other players work without their approval. I'd recommend trying to contact individual players on the Automation Discord
At some point I will do another challenge, and I will announce it here on TH-cam, like I did here th-cam.com/video/obmDL3z07QE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=swKOFXmk9Nu6VfCF
Don't take the result too hard. 5 is an ok score, better luck next time! You can also get early feedback from other players on the Automation Discord server to improve!
scaled down parts seem to be something you dont like to see, why didnt you put it in the rules "hey dont use scaled down number plates or lights, that will lose you points" ?
What's your problem with scaling headlights? 😅 is it because it's unrealistic due to regulations? (mostly in america tho, europe was pretty free) Some of the scaled headlights were good in my opinion and then you were like "scaled headlights" that's all and i'm like..." yeah? and? is this negative comment or you're just pointing the obvious?" This comment isn't meant to be classified as "hate" : p (POINTING THE OBVIOUS : p )
Yeah it's mostly a regulations thing, or a thing that headlight suppliers only had one or two sizes. It is one of the things many players look out for when looking for realism. Independent of that, many cars really had too small headlights that just would have looked better if kept at the original size. I think it really helps if some people can take this away as a learning
Hello Der Bayer I entered a car called the Mourlann 850 my username is Justacanobeans I didn’t see my car I saw it in the vote when I was voting great video otherwise
Are you sure that is the name you used for your submission? I checked all the voting sheets. You voted, but I don't see a car with your name (and no car with that model name).
Which one's your favourite?
Please don't take my comments and/or low scores from the community too harshly. We all have started somewhere and have different levels of experience. The full race results video currently has an ETA of 1st or 2nd week of January. Stay tuned!
Are you going to use the upcoming dynamic track simulation model for the competition?
@@minascholevas No, still the old calculations. The new ones are not complete enough and everybody has tuned their cars for the old simulation
The Edgewater Monaco, looks like a Briggs Cunningham Carrerra Panamericana Special crossed with a Soutchik Coachbuild! She is just so.... *Gasmean* that it hurts! great big Clumsy Puppy of a thing!

In my head it's nit der bayer making the comments but the head of chisalpina mocking the competition
Aw man, so excited for this! It was so much fun building for it, it made me hope that building racing homologations becomes part of the base game.
You people have built great cars!
My most favorite is #15 in the sports class. Chef's kiss, Roo.
That P1 car from Oreology, wow. Simply perfect
HOLY CRAP! I didn't think the Cannoa Speciallitto would appear in the vídeo! I'M SO READY! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MY SILLY GASMEAN LEAD SLED LOSE

Oh great heavens, it's happening! Been stoked for this for months!
30:35 Holy smokes, this guy freaking nailed it. Damn!
why does it looks like an SS officer re-incarnated as a car
28th? Jeez, I didn't see that comming at all 😂 Thank you so much for the event! I hope we will be able to participate in other similar competitions in the future. Congrats to the winners, awesome job everyone!

It was so close to P3, too! But still, very good result in such a strong field!
That's me at rank 29 at 5:27 with the Kriss 1500. Yeah the rear of that body is not easy at all, it does not leave a lot of freedom.
It really could use more morphability, anyway there's no reason for me to complain. A lot of the cars I rated very highly and considered great for the effort and execution were not particularly attractive. If you do another community event it might be interesting to divide the rankings into multiple criteria.
@ajorsomething4935 good idea, just to guide the voting and make it more consistent!
Man, by looking and listening to the feedback you've given to these builds, I learnt a lot. Wouldn't have thought this could work as a tutorial for cars of such a romantic era of cars and motorsports!
This must take you a crazy amount of time. I didn't enter this time but the effort you put in for these challenges are appreciated 👍
Thanks! I enjoy recreating historic events with cars a lot, so it is not just "work" for me. But yeah, next time I need to make the handling of all the entries a bit more efficient :)

2:03 you’re right, the headlights are too small!
Hope to make it up in terms of performance, looking forward to the next video as always!
pretty happy with 22nd in Touring! I really think I stepped up my design game on that one. I haven’t been really involved in Automation recently but I’m absolutely still checking in to see the results of this fantastic challenge!
Very excited for the race!
I'm amazed that you showcased every vehicle!
Damn if i knew you sooner i will have participate ! Nice work
This challenge was so much fun! And my result of p120 was better than expected, especially since it was my first car with more then 15 minutes spent on the design XD. Super excited for the race!
It's here! A great start to the Milli Monte festivities! Can't wait for the race weekend!
These are lovely and I hope I can keep this inspiration bottled up for the next time
Pretty happy with 52 in sports, didnt expect everyone to be scaling down their plates! Most of the rear body is 3d fixtures, but I paid close attention to the reflections, so it blends nicely.
P15 on Sport, nice!
Happy you liked it :) cant wait for January
Looking forward to the race!
I didn't have time to participate, but it's very interesting to see the large variety here. Everyone was so creative :D
Im just happy to have gotten over a 5 lol! I appreciate the feedback on the coxner slipstream, the visual design has never been my strong suit.
wow 23rd in sports! pretty good for the 5th car I ever made in automation, and only the second one with an interior!
Indeed quite an achievement! Congrats :)
My favorite is 55th place in the sports class because it´s mine.😁 23:30
Dang, if I'd have heard of this competition, I might've joined! Oh well. At least we all get to look at some cool designs! And hey, if there's a '54 edition, I'll be sure to have a go.

No problem at all, sh*t happens!
"trying too hard in the rear" yeah that's fair lol - still happy with how it came out.
Not sure why I got disqualified on budget - I thought I'd double checked that I was below budget, but maybe I misunderstood something or was looking at the wrong row.
Came in at top of the bottom though, so there's that at least!
Maybe you just looked at material cost? I am away from the PC for the next days so I cannot triple-check. I was very cautious disqualifying cars, so I am pretty sure something was off. Every disqualification really hurt me though!
Don't worry about it, I don't doubt you are right I was over. Going off of the materials cost sounds like what I'd've done.
It's what I did, only realizing when going over the rules again after submitting my design. But we still got featured, which I am very happy about!
Alotta great cars 💪🏾
Yes! So excited! (even if the car I built wasn't my best work)
I knew I wasn't going to win Corso d’Eleganza, but at least I know that I am not disqualified, and how many competitors are in my category. I'm really excited to see, if I'm a better engineer than designer 😅
yay! mine got 138th place in sports category
I am soo sad i didnt enter my one, and right after the the challange was closed for entryes i started a kei car campain and made truely beautiful cars
GG. Some absolutely gorgeous builds in there. Could have done better - I had another car but it was too slow but looked a lot better.
In the end the main thing is the race! Good luck for that!
Love it!
Well 169th on my first try is not bad!
25:17 - headlights were quite pain, cos they didn't wanted to conform very well on the body, so i had to make them smaller
I should’ve waited longer, I got so much better at design just shortly after entering the Athena
Omg im not binned!!
wholesome
Hey my totally not Hudson Commodore made it in the top 10, nice.
Number 101 (18:56) in the sporty section
Now that I’m seeing it again I understand the note: my car is much more an artisanal build meant for rally than a production one meant for a road rally
And I’d love to know what was found inconsistent for improving my future build
Inconsistent is maybe not the best word for it, incoherent might be better. I felt that there could be more of a connection front to back, the the vent before the rear wheels and the large "door" cutout really broke any flow on the side.
What I actually liked was the vent setup on the engine cover. There you really followed the contours of the body very well
Was NOT expecting my car to get 22 in Sports Class! Saw some people trying to copy it... 👀
Hell yeah, 49th place
I am beyond excited for this i kno im not gonna win but hey if i get a solid mid field ill be happy
I'm new here, first video i see, how can i participate in those? I would love it!
Bro roasted some of the cars 💀
i am really suprised i didnt get last place lol , 3.7 is actually good considering its one of the first cars i put effort into . Cant tell if "revolutionary simplicity" is supposed to be good or bad
It's more meant like "too simple, not enough details to score well" :)
BTW, I'm pretty sure the word you were looking for was Concorso d'Eleganza
True, somehow some letters got lost :( I am nowhere near the graphics template, so it will have to stay the way it is for the next day unfortunately
58th not bad for my first time making a car older than the 1970s
Congrats to winners. They look sexy 😳😳
I think i cloud participade in the next challange like this
Place 21... At least I get some validation from Der Bayer on the looks! I would love to know what brought my scores down.
Perhaps because, Gorgeous as she is, she looks more like a '61 than a '53?
@themustangboy8472 I think they just worked better on darker paint
@the.bavarian yeah probably
Oh man my building used to be awful!
Sometimes it can happen that some people vote a bit higher for people they know, (like for my entry).
dayum, when will the next Competition be / where can i now when there is one coming up?
I don't know when, but I will post an announcement video when it happens!
where could i download these cars they look great
There is no download unfortunately, as I won't distribute the other players work without their approval. I'd recommend trying to contact individual players on the Automation Discord
So what's next? 1980 Le Mans?
I am not 100% sure yet, I have too many ideas :)
Do you plan on doing something like this again, and how would I join it?
At some point I will do another challenge, and I will announce it here on TH-cam, like I did here th-cam.com/video/obmDL3z07QE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=swKOFXmk9Nu6VfCF
I honestly forgot what I made for this but I remember it had a v8 screaming to 8000rpm 😂
Found it lol, it was the Poseidon that ranked 96th in the sports car category, didn’t realize I went over budget
Not even score 6.0
time to re-learn..
Don't take the result too hard. 5 is an ok score, better luck next time! You can also get early feedback from other players on the Automation Discord server to improve!
Oh s est une renault 4cv la #304 rank 16
Is there a Discord server I can join?
None that I am hosting, just the official Automation Discord discord.gg/automationgame
scaled down parts seem to be something you dont like to see, why didnt you put it in the rules "hey dont use scaled down number plates or lights, that will lose you points" ?
Bayer the 2 CV is NOT my mother, factory number 0284 is 😠
@the.bavarian what is the license plate mod you use
i want those fruinian license plates
There is a texture for Fruinian plates in the vanilla game. You can apply it to any fixture. The license plates I used are vanilla, too.

Are you sure that is the name you used for your submission? I checked all the voting sheets. You voted, but I don't see a car with your name (and no car with that model name).
