Any dyno numbers? I hear the ls9 cam loses alot of power in the trucks because its a top end power maker
Awesome setup, did you need 02 sensor extensions?
Thanks!!
Does it still have good bottom end for towing and offroad?
I tow my zl1 on my 18ft open car trailer and have zero issues. I've towed it from north Carolina to Alabama several times and it does good.
I just added the ls9 to my 2004 SSR. Sounds amazing...but I'm unsure of my results. I haven't had it tuned yet tho.lost allmy bottom end, hoping for a better top end charge that frankly isn't there either. Did you get a big change from the tune?
It had to be tuned because so much was changed and or deleted. No more AFM or VVT all that was removed. They won't run with a tune afterwards. It definitely run better than stock. I think towing my stuffer a bit due to low end torque or lack of it. I only tow my Camaro from time to time so I don't worry much about it.
The ls9 cam is a blower cam so you will not see gains like an NA cam hence why it feels like that on low end. It’s a supercharger cam. You might actually lose some torque
@@johnnyninetytwo is been a few months for me. And its running great now. Yes i did lose some bottom end and you're right, that's where a blower would have made up for it, but overall it actually runs great. I may still replace it, but it's definitely fun.
@@johnnyninetytwoI think would be perfect cam for someone building an n/a motor that plans on big single later
Did you replace the springs too?
Yes I did. I use comp cams 918 springs and 7400 hardened push rods.
What valve springs did u use? Ls3?
918 comp cams
What part of NC is lsx located
Southport nc
link to the cam?
It's a ls9 cam. Got from summit
What kind of MPG you getting with it?
It will average 17 or so on the hwy. That's running 75 to 80 mph mostly 😳
@@darrencesmcintosh that’s not bad at all, about to do the same cam so was just curious how well everything worked out. Did you get it Dyno tuned or was it remote tuned? Curious what the actual gains will be.
I did my own tuning. I went to the tuning school out of Tampa. I didn't put it on the dyno
I just did it on the street. Put in my wide band. Did about 4 pulls then I played with the timing. It's not a race truck but it will out run the dodges with the 395 hp hemi
So it's good enough for me.

no offense meant here but from my personal experience its not even remotely worth all the effort and tuning headaches.. the hr265 comp is the best no spring cam out there to enhance full curve performance and driveability with a nice lope. 😎
