This is Perfection . This is Magical . This is GOAT . The mindset was ferocious inside yet calm outside . He could do anything anytime . Peak of Tennis really .
The crazy thing is: Blake was playing an amazing tournament. Completely white washed Nadal in the 2nd set tiebreak in RR and overpowered Nalbandian in the SF. But was dismantled by Federer. His best bh performance ever imo.
This is why I always think that the 1HBH is potentially a superior shot than the double hander. Look at this backhand, than look at his 2017 backhand: two different interpretation of the shot, both perfectly lethal for the two different pool of opponents he was facing, and for the different technical equipments (racquet, strings) of these two eras. Of course, here he was in his full prime so he was much stronger, steadier, he could rally all the day no problem and hit the winner at the 1st occasion... but the efficiency of his backhand was equally amazing in 2017, with the plus that some time off the circuit, training with Edberg and Ljubicic, and a new racquet, had allowed him to finally adjust to the very high bouncing spin of Nadal's wicked forehand. I don't think that any 2HBH can ever be so lethal as both these one handers, so heavy, so impossible to be read (we also have to consider that the backhand was NEVER considered his best shot!). Or better said, perhaps it can on a single shot, but at the price of very big risks of errors, because power and spin are produced in such a more natural and more effortless way with one hand.
Matt Morgan No, the backhand of today is much better than his prime. He’s more consistent with it, and he uses it as a weapon much more now. We’re not just talking about how hard he hits it.
@@christianlee9360 Blake is not a consistent player but he was on fire at this tournament. He beat Nadal on Round Rubin in a very tough match and surpassed Nalbandian on semi-final. Federer had beaten Nalbandian, Ljubicic, Roddick in a raw on Round Rubin. Then he beat Nadal on semi-fina in a classy wayl. But this match was something else. Blake was actually played really good but he faced arguably the most unbeatable Federer ever..
Cut out one of the best parts, @ 3:14 after losing the point Blake yells at someone in his box or crowd (think saying "how the heck do I beat this guy!?") Also 4:38 was a helluva shot
Blake had a 1 dimensional game and thats hit the ball as hard as I can. There was no craftiness to his game or nothing. I think that crippled his game.
Now begins the moment when you start rewatching all of Federer's matches.
It peaked here and in Australia just a couple of months later.

What else can you expect from the goat himself
Poor Blake, he actually played top class tennis here but it was like a mere mortal facing a Titan.

Greatest performance by the greatest player ever
The day that Blake was facing two 'Federer Forehands'

The God of Tennis
This is just incredibile footwork and thinking speed by Fed.
I chuckle when people say Federer's backhand was better in 2015 than in his prime. This was when his backhand was at its peak - this match.
The 2017 backhand was best.
2003-07 forehand way better than now. 2004-06 backhand is level with 2017 backhand

he just ABUSED people in 2006
2004-2007, best BH against low bounce ball. 2017, best BH against high bounce ball.
Back when Federer was simply the best player of all history
He still is.
You sure about that?
@@davd1986 Maybe not on paper. But man, in his heydays he played some of the best tennis we ever watched.
Qui c'è il più assurdo e impensabile colpo in controbalzo della sua carriera
Peak version of fed on indoor HC. Absoloutely insane.
Yep I think this tournament, AO 2007 , Indian wells 2017 are the peakest versions of fed.
Amazing performance
This is the best match level wise Federer ever played
Federer in this mode would've destroyed anybody: Nadal, Djokovic or Murray.
This Federer is unbeatable.
@@thomasdeierling3978 Blake is weak

@@NamTran-xc2ip Actually he was at his best then compared to his entire career
thanks for the upload!
this is when tennis was great.
Scariest performance I’ve ever seen

Congratulations 😘😍😍 Federer thé greatest 😘😘😘😘
On that day he was unplayable.
Man, it would be great if you re-upload the "Federer Fundementals" videos again!
amazing you remember that!
You had some of the greatest videos for Federer (and Nalbandian/Safin matches because of that!). :D
Imagine if 2006 Federer had the bigger racquet that he uses now.
Scary
@@vincentprakash4891 That's right!
Imagine if he had changed earlier... Between 2009 and 2013 he would've stayed the most dominant player. Would've won between 7 and 10 GS instead of 4.
Wow
Total GENIUS!GOAT...never mind Nadal,Djok..proof he is best ever!!!😋
I think AO 2017 was the best when his back hand was on top.
Federer prime was better than nadal and djoker prime..bar none
Blake had a 1 dimensional game and thats hit the ball as hard as I can. There was no craftiness to his game or nothing. I think that crippled his game.
Reminds me of Rublev
Federer was on steroids this whole tournament
u are a joke
harrison jananto proof?
