Where Does Embraer Build Aircraft?

  • Brazilian manufacturer Embraer is the world’s third-largest producer of civil aircraft. In other words, it is the best of the rest when it comes to manufacturers from outside the industry-dominating Airbus-Boeing duopoly. To date, it has delivered more than 8,000 aircraft with more than half a century of manufacturing history. But where exactly does it build them?

I love seeing people try to pronounce Portuguese words as a Brazilian. The narrator said José in a Spanish pronunciation so many times that it was really cute. (In Portuguese, J is pronounced like the S in "pleasure").

Um outro Brasileiro havia comentado : "You sound like an Spanish guy", pela pronúncia de "José" e eu comentei em relação a isso: "Olha a diferença no comentário... leia o de Gabriel Almeida, que foi inteligente e respeitoso.
Faço mais, transcrevo aqui para você: " I love seeing people try to pronounce Portuguese words as a Brazilian. The narrator said José in a Spanish pronunciation so many times that it was really cute. (In Portuguese, J is pronounced like the S in "pleasure")".
Também pronunciamos algumas palavras em Inglês, de forma imperfeita.
O canal fez muito bom comentário, sobre a EMBRAER e nosso Brasil.
Isso é que deve ser considerado.
Pela cultura deles, isso que foi dito está sem explicação clara, entende? Ele nem tem como associar à palavra "José", a isso que você falou..."
Só que o comentário foi retirado. Talvez pelo negativo que eu dei a ele...

I tried to get to study at ITA, a university attached to the Embraer manufacturing campus. I got a chance to visit the runway back in the days when the Embraer 170 was just recently launched. When I was visiting thr campus, I stood by the runway and witnessed a E-170 prototype taking off as a ERJ-145 chased it flying along the runway. It was really cool to see that.

I have flown in the Banderante, EMB 120,140,145, E170 and E175. Not in Brazil but in the US and Europe. I have also visited the factory in Sao Jose dos Campos on 5 occasions. The design and quality of the E 170,175 family is impressive and found the engineers to be as good if not better than those at Boeing or Airbus. I hope they succeed going forward, they deserve it.

In the '80s and '90s I flew the Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante 19 passenger airplane and the 30 passenger EMB-120 Brasilia - both great airplanes.
I also picked up a Brasilia from the factory and enjoyed their hospitality when I got a ride in their Tucano trainer. The ride included an ejection seat operational briefing by a technician who spoke no English, and his instructions were translated to me via our Embraer sales rep... What could possibly go wrong?

Just a little tip when speaking words and names from portuguese speaking countries: our letter J's pronunciation is closer to English than to Spanish. So, in José, you can use the same sound for the letter J as you get on Jet, instead of the "spanish" J, that for us, sound like the letter R.

Will the Gripen-E be built at any of these locations, or are they starting a separate production line? If Brazil funds development of a carrier-based Gripen, it's likely export models could be built by Embraer like McDonnell Douglas did with the Harrier II.

    • @Gui1The
      @Gui1The 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The Gripen F was developed and will be built in São Bernardo do Campo by Saab Aeronáutica Montagens that was another brazilian aerospace company that was bought by saab but i dont remember the name exactly, but it will also involve production in a Embraer manufacturing plant. And its pretty improbable that there will be a Sea Gripen, a brazilian carrier is planned for 2040, after the navy finishes construction of 6 nuclear subs. So most likely it will be another fighter, maybe even a 6th gen design made fully in brazil, i mean its not impossible but only if Bolsonaro doesnt completely destroy our economy.

Labor is cheap in Brazil not because the workers are underpaid or have bad conditions like it's common in Asia, but because the local currency is cheap in comparison to the USD. Embraer would not do it without a powerful partner, its quite risky. Right now the Company is investing in turboprops so its going neck to neck with ATR and in the military with Lockheed's C130 J with the KC-390.

All the tongue in cheek comments about Málaga are because if you change the accent from the first a to the second (as in the video), it sounds funny.
Spanish has been both blessed and cursed with graphic accents, which is one of the features that make it a phonemically written language. That is, if you follow all the rules, you never read a word wrong.

Hint if you want to sound more professional: most pilots (except for a couple of Yanks 🤠) never refer to a runway by "sixteen" but instead call it "one six."

Airbus bought Bombardier (which produces similar aircraft). Will Boeing buy Embraer? Some will ripped on me for even thinking it but it is a perfect replacement to the 717 program. If nothing else you know they've thought about it.

Airbus didn't buy Bombardier. They only bought the CS/A220 program.

Boeing and Embraer had a brief engagement in 2019. The pandemic end up the wedding.

This is impossible, since a few years ago, both announced a joint venture, where Boeing would assume 80% of Embraer's commercial division. Later, Boeing unilaterally terminated the agreement, alleging that Embraer had not complied with some clauses of the agreement, causing the latter to sue Boeing.
After that, Embraer has already made it clear that it is open to proposals for partnerships with any company, as long as it does not involve controlling the company.

Is he Hispanic? São José dos Campos pronounced in Spanish sounds strange with an American accent in a word of Portuguese origin, it bugged my head.
