Seeing plow mounts reminded me of rolling out of the shop at 2AM, heading up the mainline with several others rolling snow. Each spur a truck would peel off and hit 'er hard. Sometimes you had the cat skinner riding with you to plow and clean the final pitch to the landing. getting to the landing, you would set your spread chains to about 3 links, raise the box and down the hill you went with worn bushing on the box hinge, that box would be rocking back and forth as you started out. by the time you emptied your box, you would be going two or three gears faster than you wanted. Empty the box and go back ad refill it. We used all the rejects from the crusher, too small for the roads, but nice and sharp for ice. Each winter a couple of trucks would have to ditch it to keep from rolling over the bank. Just part of the job. We were all in our early twenties or even late teens. It was a job we all loved. At that age it was even romantic. Now, we were all crazy!
I love those Old Autocars.. My pap had a 1969 Dodge Tandem with a Non Turbo Cummins and an 18 speed road ranger transmission.. I miss the hell out of that truck.. It ran great for a Cummins without a turbo I live in the mountains of Pennsylvania and I remember that truck was able to go up the summit 70-75MPH.. That was Empty but still pretty good all things considered
Was driving to the our farm on back road their was 5 blokes a back hoe and a big quarry loading shovel pulling out a dump truck that had got stuck In swamp off the road this song was the first thing that came in to my head lol 😆
Been stuck a good many times when I drove a dump truck. Part of the job. You build the roads so others can go and not get stuck. Still there are worse jobs. Some days it was fun.
I like this song as well and the the west coast fat trucks that al quiring towing company got the call to tow it and the dump box is a total lost it can always be considered into a wrecker as well
Ha! Just came across this, this gold
One of my favorite songs
Fear god and the dump truck driver

Oregon's own Buzz Martin is the singer, amazing man
Lol, I think buzz Martin really summed it up well with most all his truck ballads.

Hi, do most companies just pay hourly with no benefits? What are your hours like? You work weekends? Will some companies train new employees?
