Great video and truly stated. My wife and I were in Atlixco in April with Martha, and only have good things to say. Martha's BnB was the perfect place to stay, and she showed us the in's and out's in and around Atlixco, Puebla, etc. Thank you to Mariana for her Mexico Relocation Guide (wouldn't have tackled the move to MX without it) and Martha as the perfect hostess, friend and Spanish teacher.
Terrific Video! I have been waiting for a more inclusive video on Atlixco! I was so happy to attend Christmas festivities in this town in 2019 just before the Pandemic... so the place was alive with music, food and a wonderful Christmas light festival. I loved the Winter weather... just chilly enough for a heavy sweater and maybe a scarf... really Perfect!! Food was amazing and people from around the World were seen and heard speaking a wide range of languages. Love the stairs!! :) Thanks for featuring those. This is near where I wish to locate... I have flown into the PBC airport at least a dozen times once I figured out direct flights from Houston, TX happen regularly! Great place!! Thanks for highlighting this place!
Muchas gracias por el video y la información que tiene. La dirección del lugar para rentar del lugar que usted mostró por fa, Dios me la bendiga. Saludos!
Wonderful feature! Congratulations to you and your team. This is truly inspiring and my anticipation to visit is even higher than it was, previously. Thank you, Marianna!
Thank you for this fabulous video to highlight Atlixco! Though I think we would favor a coastal town, this looks like a really awesome option for those 2 or 3 months that a place like Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta could be hot. The flowers are incredible here! Safe travels!
Ok I really love the video I'm from atlixco Puebla I learn really good inglish I planing to go back to atlixco but I want to get some job over there , I know how to make sushi Korean food Chinese food I know how to run meat department and I know every single place by volcano popo I can give a good tour I want to go back for ever so If I can get some job before I well leave Los Angeles California to start a new life over there
Merida, Yucatan would be an ideal location for that. Been here 18 months. Super safe, very walkable, lots of wonderful affordable neighborhoods, amazing people and food
How's the internet speed and reliability? Just a suggestion, that should probably be something to add to each video when talking about costs and amenities. There is a quick view of a sign at 10:55 showing 389 pesos for 50 mbps, but is that available in the entire city (hopefully not just the "rich" or expat areas)? How reliable is it? I need to work from home via the internet so this might be a deciding factor in the country and/or city I choose to move to.
It varies by neighborhoods. You could easily find that info by reaching out to the internet provider in the area you’re looking into. Otherwise, you can test the speed of a place before you rent it by logging into their wifi
Have you ever done a video on Tepoztlán? I spent a week there in April and loved it. Close to CDMX but a small town. My husband isn’t as concerned as I am about a soft landing. He is Indian so copes easily with other cultures!
En mexico amamos a la raza irlandesa. No se si lo sepas pero muchos de tus paisanos murieron defendiendo mi pais y mi Bandera en la guerra donde estados unidos nos quito mas de la mitad de nuestro territorio. El batallon de San patricio
You are really so helpful. I was wondering if you could turn on your closed captioning so that us elderly can capture every word. Thank you and many blessings.
Thank you for this wonderful video. You mentioned that Atlixco is relatively peaceful and quiet. Would you say that it is more quiet than Cholula? We had been thinking of staying in Cholula but were hesitant after learning that there are fireworks most nights. Thank you.
Hi Mariana, I loved your video with Patrick who was living in Atlixco. My husband and I are thinking about moving to either Puebla or Atlixco. We were intrigued when Patrick mentioned that he was going to visit a friend in Jalisco that lived away from the beach but was close enough to it. Do you happen to know the name of the town that he spoke about? If not, is there some way you could please put me in touch with Patrick via email? We are from Minneapolis too! And my husband is also a musician. Thanks so much! Julie
We are thinking of moving to Mexico and I have been watching a lot of your videos and I was wondering what the cost of rentals are for a 1 to 3 bedrooms for this town.
Was not familiar with Atlixco until the video. It looks beautiful and a place I would consider in Mexico to retire. Thanks to you my list keeps getting longer. I know you mentioned it has a large Jewish population. Are these expats? If so, how did they end up there? Also, is there a link to the B&B the guide owns?
She doesn’t advertise her bnb anywhere. You can only book it through her If you’d like her info, all of our contact information is included in the complete Mexico Relocation Guide Mexicorelocationguide.com/guide/
Thanks for sharing this information with us. I would like to know more about vaccinations before traveling to Atlixco. Currently, I have the covid vaccinations but what about Hepatitis A or B and others that are recommended by the CDC? I would like to visit this October. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏!!
Hi Marianna. You said it was cheap to live in but its not cheap to be able to stay in mexico, is it? I'm single so will only have my pension and social security to live on. I'm just below the $2500 needed to get the retirement visa. Is this right?
I never said cheap but rather inexpensive. I don't like to use the word cheap. And it's all relative. The rental market in Atlixco starts at around $300 USD a month for a 1 bedroom. That's very inexpensive in my opinion. Qualifying for residency will be another issue that isn't related to the cost of living in Mexico. The lowest consulate to qualify for residency is in McAllen TX. They require $1700 USD a month net.
Does anyone know if people from Puebla are racist towards black people? My husband is African American and Puebla is a state we are considering moving to , just concerned about experiencing racism
There is racism everywhere unfortunately. Puebla is no exception. But Mexico is more of a classist country than a racist country. However, I will say having said all of that, most Mexicans are extremely welcoming and accepting of other cultures.

Great video! What a about job opportunities in Atlixco.
I would not count on finding a job in Mexico. Unless you don’t need the money. 😉 wages in MX are very low compared to the rest of North America
So, how does the people moving to Mexico making a living 🤔?

Fireworks happen everywhere in Mexico
I want to move here now! :D
It's a pretty special place
Great video; excellent info. Gracias.
Gracias!
Very informative video. So many options in Mexico. Another place to consider for peace and quiet. Simply beautiful!!
So many places in Mexico that don't get a lot of media attention :)

What is the great love of Atlixo. Or mezcal.
I’m Irish American show so me some love . Puebla?
What parts of Mexico do they have frequent or occasional earthquakes? Puebla looks like an ideal place to retire, but earthquakes are scary.
Earthquakes are certainly common throughout Mexico. However some parts worse than others. For example Puebla is a common city with seismic activity
I'm moving there.
Nice!

I am retired. Will the Social Security recognize my Mexican account and routing number for direct deposit?
You can get direct deposit where you live and convert money and withdraw in Mexico
You should keep your US bank account for your Social Security -- that will keep life sane for you.
