Fun fact: Constantine wasn't originally supposed to have a shorter spiked collar. He was originally supposed to have a slightly darker shade of green than kermit's. But camera tests showed that the colors looked completely different on screen. So because of that, they went to the shorter spiked collar. What makes Muppets Most Wanted special for me, was that it was the first Muppet film I saw in the Theater. Btw love your reviews!
One of my favorite things of the movie is the relationship between Dominic and Constantine how Constantine feels he's Number One, and naturally Dominic has to follow him. They even have a song about it and keep a sort of running gag. Maybe? I don't know. Oh, well. Onto the next video!
Thing is, in "The Great Muppet Caper", Fozzie and Kermit's apparently looking alike thing was just a throwaway gag. In this movie, the fact that the Muppets don't notice that Constantine isn't Kermit despite the fact that he's about as subtle as a train wreck with this fact gets so much focus that it's pretty much the main plot. And there's no other reason for it than to make the Muppets (besides Walter and Animal, my favorite characters in thr movie) look stupid.
They'd let an obvious imposter replace their friend just so they could do whatever they wanted? Yes, I know they learned their lesson at the end, but if they knew Constantine wasn't Kermit and didn't do anything to figure out where Kermit was or what happened to him, they're horrible friends.
This was the last time Steve Whitmire would perform Kermit, and 2016 was the last we'd hear his Ernie voice. Walter took over the role of Ernie, and Matt Vogel (the guy who performed Constantine in this movie and is the current performer for most of Jerry Nelson's roles) was given the role of Kermit. After Caroll Spinney retired in 2019, Matt Vogel took over the role of Big Bird, and Eric Jacobson is the new performer for Oscar the Grouch. Caroll Spinney's death hit many fans of Big Bird - me included - HARD. He brought Big Bird to life since Sesame Street BEGAN, and the fact that he died is just... Geez, it's STILL heartbreaking to this day! He's been dead for over a year, and I think a lot of us STILL miss the guy TO THIS DAY. People keep complaining about Vogel's Kermit voice, saying that it's awful or not as good as his predecessors, but he's not TRYING to be better than Henson or Whitmire. It's like with the Genie from Aladdin. Dan Castellanetta voiced him in The Return of Jafar and the Aladdin TV series because Robin Williams refused to reprise the role due to a fall-out of the use of his voice in the marketing campaign of the first film, and was among those who selected Castellanetta to voice the character. Of course, Williams DID come back for the third film, but that was it regarding him voicing the Genie. It was Castellanetta from then on until Jim Meskimen took over. And Williams originally didn't wanna voice the Genie in the first place, but he ultimately agreed, but on certain conditions. With the release of the live-action remake, people didn't like Will Smith as the Genie. At first, after seeing the character on the cover of a magazine to promote the film, they complained that the Genie wasn't blue. When the second trailer came out, and it showed Smith as the Genie - blue color and all - they then complained that it was either too much blue or that he wasn't as good as Robin Williams. They forget, though, that the character is often imitated but NEVER duplicated. Smith brought his own charm, in short.
Great review. I hope you make more. You really have a passion for telling people what you think of something, and that's just awesome. Really enjoy your Muppet reviews, hope you have a good day :)
Weren't Kermit and Piggy married in Muppets take Manhattan at the end of the film. They even referenced it in the last film when Kermit and Piggy were showing the ripped picture right before the rainbow connection part of the telethon. That's what helped Kermit and Piggy stay together.
I think of all the actors in any of the Muppet films, Ty Burrell was the one I loved watching the most. He just looked like he was having a lot of fun every second he was on screen, and pairing him with Sam the Eagle (I loved seeing Sam get some screen time for once) was also great
4:14 In that case, I predict the next film is going to take the focus off of the comedy and onto the drama, with the Muppets going their separate ways.
Lonney Rollins Hey, I liked the review nonetheless. And it would be cool to parallel Muppet History. :) And besides, I was sorta joking. While I'm almost certain that this is going to happen, I do find it interesting.

Oh, making fun of Ron Weasly will NEVER get old. lol Another great review in the can! Until we see more Muppet movies, how about some of the NON-Muppet movies that Jim Henson & co. produced? ;)
The film featured a dedication at the end to Jerry Nelson and Jane Henson. However, Jim and Jane Henson's son John Henson, who performed Sweetums in the 90's, died a month before the film's release.
The movie never hit the cinemas in Italy, so I went to see it in London. Later, I waited for the UK bluray release but... No extended cut to be found. Why????
I just finished watching this movie, and I do think it's a pretty funny movie. And I think you did a decent job examining the film and explaining why, as you did with the rest of the Muppet saga. And if another Muppet movie comes out, I can't wait to see you review it in the future! :) Cheers, a humble fan of yours
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VIDEO! I only really got into the Muppets recently (guess it's a generational thing) and out of all Muppet media I've consumed thus far, Muppets Most Wanted is my favourite piece of media
My favorite is when Miss Piggy, when full Hulk mode on Constantin 😂😂😂😂 "NO. BODY. TRICKS. ME. INTO. MARRYING. THEM. AND. THEN. HURTS. MY. KERMY!" Also, I just realized that when Miss Piggy and Kermit's future pig child looks like the bad piggy from Angry Birds LMAO 🤣🤣🤣

I gotta admit that at first I didn't think this movie had promise, but after viewing it a few more times it grew on me and I throughly enjoyed it. I don't think it's as good as the other MUPPET movies, per say, but it's still an absolutely funny picture. It's MILES better than MUPPETS FROM SPACE for sure. Constantine WAS a chillingly nasty villain, and there war LOTS of scenes that had me in stitches. Particularly Constantine's attempts to imitate Kermit. THAT had me hysterical. The climactic scene was a riot as well. I also thought it was refreshing for Kermit to have scenes where he blows his stack. I do like what Steve Whitmire does for Kermit, but on the other hand we haven't seen much of Kermit going bonkers. This film has some of that, and I thought it was a nice change of pace for Steve.

I'm annoyed the extended cut is only available on blu-ray. That kind of sucks for those of us who haven't jumped on the blu-ray bandwagon yet or simply can't afford a blu-ray player at this time.
I'm surprised Muppets Most Wanted didn't get as good reviews or do as well at the box office as its predecessor. It's especially surprising considering that I thought 2011's The Muppets was maybe not as great as the critical consensus would lead one to believe. I actually enjoyed this movie a little more in some ways- particularly the music. I've enjoyed the last two Muppet films, but if I'm being honest, I feel like either there's something wrong with me or some of the magic has just been lost.
While not perfect I think this film was much better than The Muppets. The last film was just too sappy and angsty. At least in this movie the muppets are the main characters!

He would have been more suitable for a return than Miss Poogy.
Is this movie supposed to have narration? The version I have had narration starting from the Disney intro that totally ruined the feel for me, and I turned it off.
I don’t like the fact that you said this is the "final theatrical muppet movie. We don't KNOW that they're done making movies. Also, looking back, this movie isn’t as good as I remember. It’s kind of bland. It doesn’t live up to the one that came before it and....well......to quote the song, “everybody knows that the sequel’s never quite as good.”
Gulags are not used anymore Why are Piggy and Kermit getting married? They already are!!! I dont know if there is a Berlin National Theater Hopefully Germans dont get offended by the city names
Russian gulag musical numbers? That seems a little too offensive, even for the Muppets (who love satire) to pull off successfully. Cold prison camps in Siberia are more the stuff of horror. This segment is the worst idea since Jerry Lewis decided to do a comedy set during the Holocaust.
It is not wonderful! It was unsettling!I hate Rickey Gervaise.Every movie he's been in,he always plays the villain or the anti-hero.The moment Rickey comes on screen, you know he's going to double cross them. The story is terrible, the comedy's not funny, twenty minutes into the film,I just turned it off.Disney has just gone downhill in recent years.Jim Hensen is rolling in his grave.
That number where Constantine does the disco bit kept me in stitches in the theaters!!

My favorite scene with Constantine was when he tried to pronounce burglary 🤣🤣🤣

Shun Nakamura you obviously aren’t a fan then
Gulags are not used anymore
Why are Piggy and Kermit getting married? They already are!!!
I dont know if there is a Berlin National Theater
Hopefully Germans dont get offended by the city names
HENRY DEUTCHENDORF they aren’t though. Muppets take manhattan is a MOVIE wedding. Technically it wasn’t official
Wait no keep going don't you stay keep going
The Lady Gaga special was still great 2 me.
LOS muppet show not EL I won’t do not start all over again and again we want the continue what we lift off
Russian gulag musical numbers? That seems a little too offensive, even for the Muppets (who love satire) to pull off successfully. Cold prison camps in Siberia are more the stuff of horror. This segment is the worst idea since Jerry Lewis decided to do a comedy set during the Holocaust.
I want more 20 years not 30 years I want to continue to be in 20 years not continue the future to lift off I want to be 20 years
I’ll have to disagree, I loved the Constantine and dominick scenes
Your British accent ain't that bad honey
I personally wasn't a big fan of this movie.
Wiredos most wanted 😂😅
What? 💀
Would tor
Yer FAR too kind. This film was disjointed and lazy. Bummer.
The Henson's should never have sold the Muppets to Disney. I miss the real Muppets. Muppets Most Wanted though was ok
Philip Defibaugh please shove your hater comment up your ass.
I hated " the muppets" I loved "the muppets most wanted"... I hate this reviewer....
Get over yourself
It is not wonderful! It was unsettling!I hate Rickey Gervaise.Every movie he's been in,he always plays the villain or the anti-hero.The moment Rickey comes on screen, you know he's going to double cross them. The story is terrible, the comedy's not funny, twenty minutes into the film,I just turned it off.Disney has just gone downhill in recent years.Jim Hensen is rolling in his grave.
