Glad he's okay. I've stopped several skiers in uncontrolled skids by skiing below them and then dropping in front of them and kind of blocking them from below. This only works if it is a relatively slow slide like this dude is doing. Back when slick look jackets were the fashion, people regularly slid to the bottom of slopes without being able to self arrest.
I don't know why y'all wanted it to be fatal being unconscious can also be a sign of concussion which can also be tied to brain bleed which can be fatal.

Back when they used to groom it that run was crazy fast. As mid-level holidaymaker snowboarders we would top 50mph on it, and good skiers would still fly past us! Sadly it hasn't been groomed for the last 6 years, at least not when I've been there.

Yeah he was out for a minute or two, had a sore head and neck for the rest of the week and had concussion, but he was up and riding again about 5 minutes later. We laughed about it then and still laugh about it now. We'll see if we can do better this season :-)
