  • In today's video, a rude mom shames her daughter for having a large appetite. After the mom arrives late to a lunch date with her daughter, she complains about the parking situation and the place her daughter has chosen. The younger woman says it's actually one of her favorite places and reveals that she thought they might enjoy having a nice meal there together. However, as soon as the daughter places her order, her mom overtly disapproves and lets her know it. She rudely shames her child for having a large appetite and ordering pizza. But when the daughter gets up and leaves, the mom gets some very helpful advice from an unexpected source...

    People can become what they hate. We can become conditioned to act a certain way and pass on that hurtful behavior. You're right there, Patty. I mean, the problem w/ such behaviors is that, some people think that just b/c they lived in a particular time & generation, they believe that justifies such behaviorism. Unfortunately, they're actually WRONG, b/c it doesn't bring people closer together -- esp. the people they claim to love. It PUSHES THEM FURTHER & FURTHER AWAY!!! And if they continue to carry such animosity & bigotry inside themselves, they'll ALWAYS end up ALONE!!!!

    Morals of the story:
    1. Parents need to be careful what they say to their children. The wrong words can wreck relationships forever.

    A doctor is the only proper person to say whether someone is eating healthy. If the mom thought her daughter was not the right weight, she should ask her speak to the doctor and then accept what the doctor says. And while I do agree that if a child can't get along with a parent then socializing may need to be stopped, but a child should still have some communication with the parent, possibly by letter or even email. This would still show respect for all the good the parent has done.

    Her mom is a Karen but why would you bring your mom to a restaurant you already know she won't like? It would be a whole different story if she took her out to her favorite restaurant and she behaved like this.

    • @heatherpierce9123
      @heatherpierce9123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Because Karen's don't like anything! Why shouldn't the daughter choose the restaurant if she enjoys it? The Mother would've probably complained no matter where they dined.

    • @fbbWaddell
      @fbbWaddell 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@heatherpierce9123 Yes she would have. But to put it simply, you don't take someone to a restaurant you already know they won't eat at. The daughter knew she wouldn't like it but thought she could get her to join her for the sake of their relationship which the vid does in the end and I just have to remember these are fake scenes and nothing like real life would ever be.

    This case reminds me of one of my personal training clients. I am a UK based personal trainer and I specialise in women’s fitness. This would make a great video for you so please do one.
    I have my client’s full permission to write this by the way. Her name is Alison, her mother is called Michelle and her daughter is called Natalie.
    As Alison grew up her mother was very toxic and critical. She was constantly putting Alison down and body shaming her. Like in this video Alison has a larger skeleton so she’ll always have a larger frame. The only thing plus sized about Alison is her beautiful smile and her big heart!
    It reached such a stage that after her GCSEs at the age of 16 Alison left home and I believe she went to live with her father. Her parents got divorced due to her mother’s constant nagging of her husband.
    Some 12 years later Alison is doing one of my outdoor fitness classes where the mother brings the little kid in a stroller and we work out in the park. After the class some of the mothers and I were sitting on some park benches having a debrief. Then out of the blue Alison’s mother Michelle comes up and shouts out “Well look who it is! My useless good for nothing fat daughter who can’t take my criticism.”
    Alison then stood up and then said “Not that it’s any of your business but I have this super cool personal trainer called James Bond who has got me in the best shape of my life.” She removed her cardigan to reveal a figure many women would give their right arm for! “I take home £7000 per month in passive income from my network marketing company. My husband is also very successful in business too!”
    Then something happened. Natalie Alison’s two year old daughter came from the grass area and said “Mummy (in the USA you say mommy) who is this?”
    Alison then said “Just some nasty stranger. I’ve told you not to talk to strangers. Let’s go!”
    Michelle’s eyes then filled with tears and her voice changed. “Is this your daughter? Am I a grandmother?”
    Alison then replied “Don’t you EVER come anywhere near my children. I won’t let you do to them what you did to me!” Michelle then broke down in tears. Her knees almost gave way with the emotion.
    Alison then took Natalie by the hand and started to storm off. Michelle then asked me to intervene. saying she was sorry.
    I told her that "I've heard about you. You are the toxic mother. You had your whole life to be sorry. This is what you get for caring more about your reputation and about other people's families more than your own." I hope they get a restraining order against you.
    The following day Alison’s brother in law who is a lawyer served Michelle a lawyer’s letter stating that if she made any attempt to come into contact with her grandchildren, they’d get a restraining order.
    In court Michelle’s lawyer argued that her mother was very toxic with her damaging her self-esteem. As such she projected her fears onto her daughter. She’d undergone treatment and was very sorry. However, the judge ruled that although it was very tragic the safety and well-being of Natalie must come first and upheld the restraining order.
    This is the risk you take if you are toxic with your kids

    Considering how this woman is established as having been overly critical and nasty to her daughter for YEARS, I don't buy her changing her ways because of a brief lecture from a random waitress. In reality, the waitress probably wouldn't get halfway through her spiel before the mom snapped at her to mind her own business and left. The video should've been about the waitress confronting the mom for being so abusive and the daughter subsequently telling her off and cutting the toxic b***h out of her life.
