What a great hack Emma! I was really looking forward to this one to see how you did it. So clever! Here's to more DIY videos. Love to you, Simon and the Bs x
Yes definitely although you’d need some kind of spinning lock to keep it in place if using in a Kitchen for chopping on it, you wouldn’t want to lose a finger 🙊

Looks great. Obviously this would affect the weight of it but it’d look really cool with like a marble top so it looks a bit more aesthetically pleasing. Just a thought!
Wow, this is a good one! Actually, you could have added wood (or metal) strips along the seams to add a diff custom look. Love, love, loving these vids, Emma and Simon!
Beautiful! 🤩 I love your videos they’re informative, quick and straight to the point. Just curious, instead of putting the 3 pieces of MDV would filling the gap between the two cabinets with wood filler then sanding the surfaces then painting them, do you think the outcome would have been similar?
You could definitely do that but as we only glued the 2 units together (to avoid using unsightly screws internally) you would run the risk of visible cracks with movement. I trust the glue we used but over time there will definitely be movement x
Genius ! ! ….seriously is there any end to your talent Emma ! ..
I’m blown away by what you have done to your home!!! It is STUNNING my dream home 💕
LOVE IT!!! Fantastic idea. love the simplicity - yet really unique way you put things together! 🩷

You put a lot of work into that! Can you imagine what this would sell for in a retail store?
Wow! That was a lot of work & patience!! Good for you! Looks good 👍
I'm speechless! Amazing idea!
This is cracking Emma, fabulous job! 👏🏻👏🏻 Such a great idea 💡
You should get a slab or wood counter to extend the island to bar height counter so you can sit and fold -12” overhang is safe without cracking 😊

You don’t need to prime ikea cabinets before painting?
Not if using this particular Kitchen cupboard paint as it has a primer ‘built in’ to the paint formula. You MUST sand them though 👍🏼

Hi, I may not have caught the message. I’m confused. I don’t mean this is any ill way. If it’s already white, why are you painting it white?
It’s not been painted white, it’s Portland Stone which is a light neutral shade 👍🏼
@@EmmaHill ok thank you Emma.
Was about to ask the same question. Thank you for the clarification
Yes, Portland Stone is a putty colour (I love it), and it’s quite different from white.
Hi you are tooooo gooood
You two really should have your own DYI TV show on HGTV. 🤭
