Wayne H., that’s kinda what I thought. So if something needs attention, you have to send it in, wait for repair? I wonder how long that takes? Maybe I’m new to the folding knife thing, but that doesn’t sound like a good policy if they are thinking about the future. Also The proprietary tools to access the thing in the first place is like a slap in the face for anyone who knows how to use a screwdriver.
William Burke, yep...ive said this before but I’m new to this EDC carry thing and I’m becoming more disappointed by the day. It seems my circle of trust, what was that movie?, grows smaller by the day.
Brid. I agree with you. I like button locks as well. 95% of the use we do daily will not hurt a button lock. For that last 5% I would use a fixed blade. Cheers
@@BirdShotIV Its a cool knife but much too over priced for S35VN. You could get the WE 618G in M390, Apurvis Blades Primordial in M390, or the ZT 0462 in 20CV for the same price or less.
"Things you really shouldn't do with any knife" That's crap... have you read Medford's warranty policy? Adjusting the pivot voids the warranty. Adding any kind of lube voids the warranty. If a tool even touches the knife it voids the warranty. A screw is loose? You want to adjust it, maybe put some blue loc-tite on it? Warranty voided. Supposedly super built, tank knives but the warranty makes them seem like fragile kids toy's.
@@fullfire0 I own two Medford knives and love both. Just because YOU don't like them doesn't mean others don't want to see these videos. I'm sure nobody's wallet will be hurt by you canceling your subscription, however, a lot of us want more Medford videos.
It makes me want to lean forward really far, tip my hat, grab inappropriately, and break a bunch of windows by shouting angrily and musically, while spinning uncontrollably. I'm going to have to get one. :)
Not a single Medford has spoken to me, never liked the design and how thick they were, but this, this Smooth Criminal right here, I think I want a Medford now?
@@BirdShotIV Haha I appreciate the nudge! But I do have a Spydiechef, a Spyderco Smock, and an Artisan Cutlery Archaeo all coming in the next month, I better hold off for a bit! 😅
I want one now. I kinda think for the price i would feel a lot better if it had a Titanium handle instead of aluminum but yes for a Medford I get it. With all that said, I must get one. The button lock drop action sells it for me for sure. I love a good fidget knife.
Would have been nice if Medford had taken a little more time to perfect the flipping action. Especially on a knife that's nearly 300$ dollars. Looks great though.
I really dont like that warranty says you cant service your knife. Especially since it's on bearing. Are you supposed to send it back once the action gets shitty. Another reason why I like spydercos. Oh I got my Kapara in the mail. Its gorgeous!!
I like the button lock and I definitely agree we need more button locks, made in the USA is great, but proprietary hardware and warranty are a no go for me.
Hi guys! I had a couple of non Medford questions. I recently purchased a KME and am still at the beginning of my learning curve . I was wondering do you do micro bevels? Also I am trying to locate a knob for the stone "carrier/tightener" . I had thought you had a link for one in the info section on one of your older video's. I am wrong about that or just cant find it. Can you help a fellow out with a link?
Chad Kober following. I have a KME too. I have faithfully used it per the instructions but it actually makes my knives dull. Not sure what’s wrong. Wonder if I have bad stones.
@@AlexanderSLeBlanc Hey, there is a bit of a learning curve. I watched a lot of videos KME, Birdshot IV, Dean O, ect. I don't have it perfected but I am improving with each use. I would suggest that the stones themselves are not bad, they are dulling your blades. Pretty sure Ron at KME would tell you the same. Which brings me to my point. I would suggest calling KME.
Bearings other than the initial release. Getting keyed up for their automatic knives. Mine came with one clip initially I thought it was left or right carry until I saw the curve on the clip. I'm assuming there is a different clip that could be ordered. The finger groove is only on one side though.
What would you two lovely people recommend as the best wrist flicker knives>? Like as wrist flick to open? I have a CRKT M-16 flipper that needs a wrist flick to properly flip open which I like. What else is out there like that?

Takes me back, when MTV actually played music videos. I ordered the new Mordax, my first button lock. It's the most I have ever (and probably will ever) spend on a knife, hope it's worth it.
I’d take the Freeman 451 over this. Same blade steel, and also available in D2 for $50 cheaper than the s35vn. I really like Medford’s designs but I don’t see the justification in price here.
Only one thing I don't like about it... if I ever have to poke someone in self defense, that name "smooth criminal" will be used over and over in court to drag you through the mud. I'm looking for a knife that meets my state's requirements and doesn't have skulls, death and criminal references related to it. I want a Medford, I love this one but I need a good lawyer with that name.
Sorry, but those Medfords are totally overpriced. And almost all are absolutely ugly. This button-lock knife is probably the best looking Medford ever. And still … more than 250 for S35VN and aluminium? But then, at the end of the day, it’s personal preference. It’s just not my piece of cake. (I’m a Spyderco, WE/Civivi/Sencut, Kizer, Kansept, Bestech or GiantMouse kind of guy … or truly beautiful classic patterns.)
The cheapest Medford can be bought at Home Depot for like 10 bucks it’s a standard crowbar

Nick Maccioli oh yeah gp it’s Medford’s new lw releases
bp69 Shiiiiiitttt 😂
lol oh no
Too true 😂😂😂😂
Ive really been wanting to see a good review of this knife. Thanks Frankie and Bird!
The button lock flipper is a total win for Medford
really why ?
chad kanatzar Because it’s something different than what theyve been doing, overbuilt paperweights
I appreciate that it doesn't have a finger choil like the massdrop mordax.
Great video (and thanks for the shout-out)! It reaffirms my thoughts on this knife; I really like it the more I carry it.
thanks again J.B!
Medford...do not take apart, do not open, if for some reason it is open, do not close, do not pick it up, do not touch.

DO NOT BUY.
Michael Keim It’s a policy. Evidently, Medford has the only abusive, assholish customers in the entire knife business.

That smooth Criminal reminds me of my Hogue Ex-01 Sig Sauer - a drop shutty push-button with FDE finished blade.
