First, the insurance company will pay because each of the cadets and each flying school have a designated insurance firm to cover all of the accident. Next, the flight instructor will ensure all of the cadets have the right knowledge to operate the aircraft safely before letting them fly solo. Now you must be thinking about why the flight instructor is so confident about it. The reason is that most of the cadets are passionate about the aircraft, and some cadets are willing to have their own simulator sets at home practicing all of the maneuvers with an appropriate checklist. The Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia requires all of the cadets to pass the 14 ATPL TEST. This will allow the cadets to have a deeper understanding of the aircraft, meteorology, communications between ATC and Pilots, etc. With that, they are equipped with Theory Knowledge and aircraft maneuvers. Lastly, most of the cadet and especially pilots are trained with having a sense of responsibility by following the rules and procedures accordingly, so in conclusion, most of the pilots are only allowed to go on solo if they have the Knowledge, Skill, and Attitude (K, S, A). With that, the chance of getting themselves into an accident is almost 0 unless they have a mechanical failure or the weather is not cooperating. Then again, pilots are trained to handle every situation with what they have learned in ground school and training.
