- Not just the Greek royals are present at the wedding of Prince Philippos and the brand new Princess Nina. Royals have also come from Spain, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Germany and other (former) monarchies. Queen Sofia of Spain, a native princess of Greece and Denmark, Princess Benedikte of Denmark, and British Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie with their husbands top the guest list.

What are you talking about? As far as I know Greece has s parliamentary democracy and NOT a monarchy. May I remind you of the 1974 referendum where Greeks overwhelmingly voted against the monarchy? They are mainly descendants of Christian IX of Denmark and Victoria of the UK. See "Royal descendants of King Christian IX and of Queen Victoria" in Wikipedia for the family trees. I was able to identity almost every royal family member attending the memorial service of The Duke of Edinburgh in a TH-cam video. It takes hours of work to research their family tree for their relationship to The Duke and look up their photos for verification.

A man should block the view of a woman getting out of a car, and let her straighten her clothes before anyone sees her.

Every person can identify him/her self whatever he/she likes. Practically they are not Greeks. They don't even have the Greek citizenship. They are some German - Danish foreigners appointed by the Great Powers. Greeks don't have royals, and Greece's constitution doesn't recognize royal - noble titles. @@FCBanes

Monarchy is a symbol of Unity.. Greece was once a vibrant and prosperous country but now a days is in dip financial ruin despite its attractions. Im sure the royal family can make it happen if they decide to bring them back to unite their people and let politicians govern the government. but then again, politicians are voted by the people and they use that to do what they want to do, in the end its always the people that's left behind to suffer the consequences.
Unlikely to unite anyone, given the reasons for its abandonment.
That's basically how they - and the government at the time- got deposed, by a coup. He couldn't do much with armed men surrounding his house with his family inside
If you knew modern Greek history, you would know that the ex royal family always used to divide the Greek society. They were connected with the darkest events of modern history in Greece. They interfered always in Greek politics in favor of a single party, destabilizing the country frequently.

The Greek royals are related to almost every other royal family in Europe, and a lot of them were represented here. Queen Anne Marie (mother of the groom) is the younger sister of Queen Margarthe of Denmark. King Constintine's sister is Queen Sophia of Spain. And of course, they're both related to the British royals since they were cousins of Prince Philip. The Greek royals actually have family ties to Britain, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Norway, as well as the former Russian royal family, the Romanovs, and the former German royal house of Hanover. Many of the guests at this wedding are from those royal families.

I find it interesting that each guest understood the assignment upon arrival. They knew to act respectfully, to take a moment to stop and pose for cameras, to exert a certain amount of poise and dignity, and were gracious to camera men and reporters.
