I played the witness at university and the entire house of people i lived with and a couple of other friends were completely invested. We took notes on the puzzles. Took photos of things we needed to remember. Started drawing possible solutions. People would even come in the next morning after a night of thinking and claim they had solved something huge. We platinumed the game in a week and it was the best gaming experience i have ever had!
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes or Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Download the companion app, and have a friend use the radar as a second screen. You play the game, but you're not allowed to open the map or menu. It is unbelievably fun.
This reminds me of watching Nathan The Christmas Elf. I’d never really got the vastness of Skyrim and the fun you could have creating a character and actually role playing until I watched your play through. Sometimes watching others play gives you a sense of the best ways to make the most of a game. Thanks team!
I been playing games with my mom for years, it came to a point where I couldn't play some games without her cause she loved watching and played them. Fallout 4 we would work together on settlements and choose which places she would design and which ones I would gets the rest were together. It's going to be fun when fallout 78 comes out.
Years ago, a good friend of mine and I stayed up all night playing (grinding, really) Final Fantasy Tactics to try to access all the jobs. So much epic.
Omg, Hollie, I love you so much for mentioning The Witness in this video! Literally, I started the game solo but once my brother caught some gameplay, he wanted to help me solve my way through the rest of the game! And that’s what we did! He’s the only reason why I earned the Platinum and it’s one of my most treasured because we spent so many hours (inc many early morning ones) solving puzzles in this game together. Best co-op not-co-op game on the PS4, hands down.
There were 2 friends mainly that I played games with through the school years, one was on his megadrive playing Toy Story which was absurdly hard, especially stuck in the claw machine trying to find those aliens, and the Sonic games, and then his PS2 on the GTA games. My other friend was also on the Ps2 games, but different games, Burnout 1 2 & 3 were great fun, and then there was the strange co-op ones like the Conflict Desert Storm games, splitscreen, those were a lot of fun, frequently blown up by enemy tanks.
Played through Alien Isolation with a mate on Share Play great fun laughing at each while trying to hide from the Alien. Especially when we didnt know the sound sensor was on and it could hear us talking
As yakuza kiwami has just come out as a November free monthly game I remember playing it with a mate and just watching him beat up any street thug and would always ask how’d you manage that. The response was always skill, so I always just sat in amazement as I felt I could never play and now I get my change on PS4
I have a great one for anybody to try out actually. On Fallout 3 (I'm sure any will suffice), I had kept a save from early in the game when you're first let into Tenpenny Tower. My friends and I would take turns in an arcade style mode we created, just seeing how much death and destruction we could wreak till everybody was dead or we bit the bullet. The best run was from my friend Jon, who removed the limbs and head off of someone he killed before taking them to the bedroom for a lot of squatting action. Tears were shed that day.
When I was on my year abroad in Canada my house mates and I all played Until Dawn together. We made the choices together by taking the majority vote of what was screamed the loudest. We took turns with the controller and there was still a lot of screaming! 😂😂
So, my best MSG story (this one’s for you, Rob!): Some years ago, my friend and I played through all of the then-available Metal Gear Solid games: he had the controller, I was the navigator. Neither of had played any of them before. And we’d drink and enjoy this epic, weird story together. One night, we decided to drink absinthe, which of course my somewhat gullible, straight-laced friend was real excited about. You mean, we can game and hallucinate? (Spoiler: The answer is no, of course: we just had really strong absinthe, not the hallucinogenic stuff.) But it was the atmosphere, you know? So now it’s 2am, we’re drinking absinthe, doing the whole sugar dissolved by ice water thing, and weird stuff keeps happening because it’s MSG1, and finally we get to a part-I think it was psycho mantis or maybe the cyborg ninja, I don’t properly remember-and my friend looks over at me and says “I don’t know if it’s just the game or I’m hallucinating!” And I said, “it’s just the alcohol making you sleepy.” To which he replied “I feel so betrayed!” and immediately fell asleep.
PlayStation Access Are you referring to the ‘5 thing we love about it’ video? I enjoyed watching that so thought a video with commentary in real time while two of you play it would have been great as well when it comes out. I do however understand you guys have to work on videos for loads of other games as well so I can see why you wouldn’t do it :)
I've always regarded the Hitman games as puzzle games. They're all about how do I get into that next area? Oh, I need a waiters outfit? Where can I find a waiter off by themselves? Right now how do I get my gun past these guards who want to frisk the waiter? Ah, there's a window I can climb through to bypass the guards. And so on. Whenever I've tried to persuade others to play them I've always explained them as puzzle games.
The Witness was great fun, me and the wife played it and had a blast. I remember playing it one evening and the mother-in-law was staying over. This is a woman staunchly against video games. But she got sucked into solving puzzles with us one evening. Such an involving game and doesn't get talked about enough! Thank you Hollie for bringing it up again!
New expansion pack but you must first preorder the next game most expensive edition. Once you've done that, the "friends" will be on the lootboxes. Have fun! 👍😀
Great choices guys. Still love playing solo a bit better. I always get at least 1 player that's not a team player. I prefer Co- op if not doing solo. Love all of you. You're the best. Great video. Cheers
Spider-Man 2 on the PS2. My best friend and I used to pay "3 Street crime pass" and try to find the most spectacular way of offing the bad guys. The bonus rule was that if a citizen event popped up in the mean time you had to do that as well. Just something really satisfying about pile-driving a purse snatcher from the top of the Empire State Building while holding a crying child's lost balloon.......
I love RPG's and I have a friend (who is now on our channel) who didn't like playing them, but loved to watch me play them back in the day, so we used to sit around for hours just bsing and I'd play a Final Fantasy or something while he watched. It's actually one of the reasons we started doing let's plays on our channel, because those times were some of my favourite gaming moments of all time.
Getting closer to 2 million subs, really hope you do another song I loved the first one and still listen to it today, really good work access keep it up
The game which I remember playing with my best friend which was a single player RPG which was Enchanted Arms. When things got difficult we would swap player to give a different style of battle or fresh eyes for puzzles. But the story was so enjoyable for us that we both just got engrossed into the game even when not being the actual player.
My friend and I played the original dmc 3 back when it first came out. We would take a shot everytime one died and would switch who was playing. Needless to say, it was a beautiful train wreck.
Skyrim(job), setting up hunting challenges to simul-play. IE: You, and someone who plays at the same time, set a time limit to kill as many rabbits as possible... Using 30 arrows. Comparing kills. Clearing the same dungeon and comparing loot (and clear time). Seeing how far each can get without being noticed or having a body spotted.
i used to play saints row 2 or saints row 4 with my firends, and since i was the only one that owned the game, we couldn't do a co-op campaign. but we decided to just wreak havok in the streets and destroy everything. we would always end up doing this thing where we would drive on the sidewalk and loudly complain about pedestrians walking in our driving space
I remember playing Assassins Creed Black Flag with a couple of friends. We'd take turns playing and set up small challenges like hunt a whale in the shortest amount of time, or take a stronghold without being spotted using only stealth kills. I agree, games with friends, online or around your house can make it so much more fun.
Me and my friend played uncharted 1,2 and 3 together. He had already played the game so i played the game and he watched me through share play. He would call out all the enemies and help me with all the puzzles. We don't talk as much anymore but its some of the most fun I've ever had gaming.
My Dad and I used to collaborate on the original text adventures on the old Apple 2 back in the day- Sheesh, almost 40 years ago now-We would trade theories and suggest ridiculous solutions to particular problems. Sometimes we would leave notes for each other if we solved something while playing solo. This continued all through the years and new gaming systems; I could definitely have used his help on The Witness, even though I muddled through on my own(except of the blasted 'secret' final challenge puzzle-last one I need for the platinum!) Anyway, I miss my dad, but treasure those memories so much!
Love this channel, I like Gran Turismo and GTA games, me and my mate used to do an hour each, so in shifts, and I ALWAYS ended up with the goddamed ambulance missions. Bless your heart adorable Hollie I can't do puzzle games by myself either! Spyro soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My brother and I played Riven together before we moved out of our parents' house. We really got into it and sat up late in order to finish it. I think we beat it in a total of 18 hours of gameplay (different sessions, obviously). Brilliant game! 😊
Resi 7, Amnesia: Dark Descent, or Until Dawn. Scary games with a bit of a puzzle element. I love playing these in groups - you can all get scared and enjoy the story together!
Nath said Far Cry 3. Mine is actually Far Cry 4. Didn't do too many missions just drank a lot and my 2 friends just went on a rampage going from Vehicle and killing randomly. Such twisted yet entertaining fun
If Dave was impressed with Hollie's Hitman ability then he'd be absolutely fuckin mindblown if he watched the people who only play Hitman and know everything about each level and each Hitman game. Some people are crazy good at it, its fun to watch too.
My friend and i played Brothers: a tale of two sons together even though its a single player game we each took control of one brother. it was an incredible experience especially when we got to the end and 'spoilers' one of the brothers...goes away and one of us is left without a character to control. So good
The Fatal Frame series with my brother. We helped each other with puzzles and pointing out which keys unlocked which doors. And screamed...lots of screams. Lol
Used to love playing Zelda LTTP with a friend. We would take turns on dungeons. Another was sitting all day poking away at any JRPG's with friends. We could play and just chat all day long since the 90's JRPG's were mostly turn based.
I remember playing Tales of Symphonia with a friend back when it first came out in my college days... I know it's technically a multiplayer game, but the only time players 2-4 can contribute anything is during combat. They're just spectators during story interactions, so I'm counting it. I hope to go back and replay it on PS3 with my wife once I finish Zestiria and Berseria. ^_^
You remember the Dizzy games back in the 80s and 90s where you had to find certain objects to use in certain places..... Hitman actually kinda borrows from that in a way!
Was staying at my friends house for a couple nights well over 10 years ago and one of the days we both were up early in the morning and spent all day taking turns playing through all three prince of persia games
Metal gear solid games. Used to watch my brothers play them when we were younger before I was able to play them myself. Was like watching a movie (like kojima intended I imagine) , it was incredible.
Any horror game, for sure, we get to b scared and laugh at each other, it eases up the fear and feels good! Also the Souls series games, from Demon Souls to Bloodborne, you just pass the controller over to your friend when you die and you start to root for him and him for you, its amazing!!!
Not necessarily a single player game but you could play it with 1 character and use 2 controllers, that was Smash TV on the Sega Mega Drive. Me and my younger brother would always try and get farther and farther by doing a dual controlled single character. 1 person moves, the other shoots. I think i was the runner but it's been over 20 years now. We used to get so far each time and it was always a blast playing it that way.
I love to play games like Beyond Two Souls, Telltale games, life is strange and hidden agenda. These are the only games my wife enjoys to watch and take part of, its lots of fun!
Besides trading Pokemon and playing pokemon stadium, my best friend and I loved playing co-op Legend of Zelda Windwaker where we'd trade off every time one of us died. Wasn't ment to be 2 player but I only beat that game because we'd marathon playing it when she'd come over for a sleepover and we'd spend the whole weekend playing the game.
Hollie at 13:30 "That was the joys of shared play." Auto English subtitles "That was the joys of shag play" Austin Powers: "Well hello there gorgeous". When it comes to single player, remember; they are single player games, but your friends are allowed to cheer you on.
Idea for Tuesday checkilst or Friday feature, things we did in games that made us feel creative , this could be a certain way you handled something, a unique way you played a game or something you've made that's creative maybe a level on little big planet
I would love to see the Hitman 2 Mirror murders. In a mode that makes you compete for killing targets against friends, instead, see if you can tie. By killing at the same time. :o
Kingdom hearts 1 for ps2... my older brother and I would work together while one played and the other watched so we got all the synthesis material for the ultima keyblade and to beat the secret bosses (like the phantom and kurt ziza)
My best friend and I do Share Play all the time! My favorite game that I watched him play is Bioshock Infinite. As he was playing, we'd talk and try to figure out what was really going on! I was like I got to be his Elizabeth.
I remember there was one time I was at my friend's house and we were bored so we played a PS2 Lego Batman game or something. At first I was just watching her play and then she handed me a controller and we never progressed because all we did was beat each other for coins.
It is amazing and funny how Hollie is able to be creative in almost any sencero she is in, but when Rob, Nathan, and Dave get behind the controller, the only creativity they concern themselves with is how to murder someone in the most unique way possible.
In my opinion, nowadays, you really can't even perceive half the details in modern games if you only ever play them. You _need_ to watch all your games being played so you don't miss stuff. What I'm saying is that the Share button + auto game capture are among the best decisions Sony ever made
Heavy Rain! Or any other game like that. Especially after having payed it already it was a blast watching my brother play it and seeing what choices he made
I played the witness at university and the entire house of people i lived with and a couple of other friends were completely invested. We took notes on the puzzles. Took photos of things we needed to remember. Started drawing possible solutions. People would even come in the next morning after a night of thinking and claim they had solved something huge. That sounds great
The Witness is an awesome game. I wish I could go back and play it again for the first time.
We need a livestream with Rob and his sister. Though I don't know if that would rapidly descend into utter darkness :P
You never know, maybe she is interesting to watch when Rob and her are in the room playing a game.
@Markyisamonkey I am starting to wonder if that is true...
I was gonna say the same thing...... ; D
@Markyisamonkey
Just Rob sitting alone wearing his mums clothes and Robs mums wig (which we don't talk about).

"Reconstruction" down in the bottom left corner of robs story had me in tears hahaha like this is a documentary on rob's psychopathic thoughts

Yakuza series is my favorite soap oppra xD
The fighting in Yakuza is pretty easy compared to games like Bayonetta or DMC, but still really great.
I have a great one for anybody to try out actually. On Fallout 3 (I'm sure any will suffice), I had kept a save from early in the game when you're first let into Tenpenny Tower.

So, my best MSG story (this one’s for you, Rob!):
Some years ago, my friend and I played through all of the then-available Metal Gear Solid games: he had the controller, I was the navigator.
So now it’s 2am, we’re drinking absinthe, doing the whole sugar dissolved by ice water thing, and weird stuff keeps happening because it’s MSG1, and finally we get to a part-I think it was psycho mantis or maybe the cyborg ninja, I don’t properly remember-and my friend looks over at me and says “I don’t know if it’s just the game or I’m hallucinating!”
And I said, “it’s just the alcohol making you sleepy.”
To which he replied “I feel so betrayed!” and immediately fell asleep.
MSG, Snake vs The Colonel
Hitman is *definitely* a puzzle game, except with added murder!
...also, this is why I'm bad at Hitman

I think i was the runner but it's been over 20 years now. We used to get so far each time and it was always a blast playing it that way.
Best single player game with friends is borderlands 2. Obviously. Now with new dlc coming (to pc)
2nd best is crash bandicoot 3 warped
I love to play games like Beyond Two Souls, Telltale games, life is strange and hidden agenda. These are the only games my wife enjoys to watch and take part of, its lots of fun!
LMA Manager was a great little gem to play. It finally got the shout out it deserves.
Legend of dragoon and/or the front mission games. Sister and I would pick a character and we would always play their turns throughout the game.
Baldurs gate dark alliance 2 is my favorite single player or co-op on PlayStation
You guys are great. Keep the awesome vids coming. Me and my buddy had fun with A Way Out. Not sure if you guys have tried it or not.
I think those missions in GTA V where you could drop people off at the murdery cult in the hills were invented for Rob.
Dave: 'Hollie is playing Hitman like a puzzle game and its brilliant.'
Hollie: 'I suck at puzzles!'
Me: 'What?'
After being reminded about the death taxi, the first Red Dead Redemption 2 stream makes a bit more sense.
I immediately thought of The Witness!
Also every "interactive movie game" (or however this genre is called) like Heavy Rain, Until Dawn...
Hollie at 13:30 "That was the joys of shared play."
Auto English subtitles "That was the joys of shag play"
Austin Powers: "Well hello there gorgeous".
When it comes to single player, remember; they are single player games, but your friends are allowed to cheer you on.
That's it. I'm convinced. Rob is Sheogorath incarnate.
Idea for Tuesday checkilst or Friday feature, things we did in games that made us feel creative , this could be a certain way you handled something, a unique way you played a game or something you've made that's creative maybe a level on little big planet
I would love to go out drinking and talking games with the access team. Especially to see how often they actually swear.
Portal 2 has to be the best coop i've played.
All of the Resident Evil games. Except 4,5,6(as much as I like 4) Just that somewhat calm horror with puzzles. Great with family and friends
RE 5, 6 and Revelations 2 are literally the only RE games with a couch co-op mode.
Thank you access team for always releasing great content
is it just me or is the music in the background when Rob is speaking from Fable?
I agree with Dave that Hitman is a puzzle game in a way
I remember there was one time I was at my friend's house and we were bored so we played a PS2 Lego Batman game or something. At first I was just watching her play and then she handed me a controller and we never progressed because all we did was beat each other for coins.
My older brother and I played through Fallout 4 together. We tried to make the character get more and more evil as the game went on
Single player games will always be my go to games over multiplayer you just can’t beat em
It is amazing and funny how Hollie is able to be creative in almost any sencero she is in, but when Rob, Nathan, and Dave get behind the controller, the only creativity they concern themselves with is how to murder someone in the most unique way possible.
If Friday feature ever ends "God forbid" Then the next thing has to be "The Chronicles of Rob's Mind" 🤔
In my opinion, nowadays, you really can't even perceive half the details in modern games if you only ever play them. You _need_ to watch all your games being played so you don't miss stuff.
What I'm saying is that the Share button + auto game capture are among the best decisions Sony ever made
My friends are my power! ;P
I love multiplayer games, but it mostly depends on the game itself.
Heavy Rain!
Or any other game like that.
Especially after having payed it already it was a blast watching my brother play it and seeing what choices he made
The end part of the video with Rob talking about the taxi of death again. Pmsl.
1:31 sounds like gollum just woke up
