I would love to see Rob play through the whole Metal Gear Solid franchise while explaining to us, to the fullest of his knowledge, what's happening and make it easier to understand the story and world of Metal Gear. :D
my party was "the witcher 3"..i had the game bought for my brother on day one and i could never understand why he loves it this much, but after few years i was bored with no games to play and i found the disc and decided to give it a try and i got addicted to it, i even bought the DLCs for it and 100% the whole game
This is like my thing, I'm ALWAYS late to the party. I was late to the party with; Fallout The Witcher God of War Devil May Cry Assassin's Creed MGS A lot of things
Rob! I picked up Ni No Kuni 2 at your recommendation, can't wait to play it. And now, I'm hooked on Persona 5 here on youtube (also thanks to you fine people here!) and can't wait to pick that up as well!
Gotta be the Dragon Quest series itself. I'm a huge JRPG fan and I just never played any of these games until 11. DQ11 was a big time game changer for me. I love that game a lot. Platinumed it without question and I rarely ever do that. In a year where God of War, Spiderman and Red Dead 2 came out it was my favourite game last year. That in itself is crazy to me. Where have I been for the last 30 or so years?
I'm a big JRPG nerd like Rob, and I was extremely late to the Legend of Heroes party until 2019 when I found Trails of Cold Steel and now I'm terribly addicted and can't wait for 4 to be localized
It was Journey for me. Rob kept saying over and over how amazing it was. Saw it on sale one day and was like, 'Okay FINE I'll give it a shot'. Honestly... what a brilliant game.
PlayStation Access you so need to give us metal gear stupid 2 it’s been so long since the last series and we need to get Dave and Nathan through the main series at least.
I first started Bloodborne in March 2016 and let my cousin use it after I was frustrated from my weapon breaking from ignorance. He moved, and he inadvertently put my copy of Bloodborne in his storage with a bunch of other stuff...so I EVENTUALLY bought it again for myself in August 2018 and almost have the platinum for it. I was ashamed that it took me so long to finally pick it back up.
For me, it was the soulsbourniro franchise. For the longest time, I always looked at those games with an 'eh, I don't really want to play that' attitude until about a year ago. I started with demon's souls and was hooked, and now have played all but sekiro, which I've just bought, and bloodborne. Such a great series that I've sunk literally hundreds of hours into. Best games I've ever played.
I was late to the Borderlands party. I like the game, with how expansive it becomes with the later sequels, but by the time I got into it, all my friends had collected all they wanted to collect, and even tried all the characters. So here I am. On the journey by myself, to stop evil alongside my indecisiveness of what weapons to use, keep, or discard.
Heavenly Sword. Got it about 2 years ago and for a really early PS3 game it is brilliant! Andy Serkis playing King Bohan is great, his performance is vicious, sarcastic and hilarious. Will go from being a conniving villain plotting someone's death to suddenly doing his best impression of Richie from Bottom's flirting attempts. One of my all time favourite game scenes now is Bohan capturing Nariko's father and her doing a big shout at him in the cliche way most games do and he just mocks it and deadpan tells his minions to kill her. The delivery is golden, the game is fun to play, I would like a remaster on PS4 please.
Microsoft just bought Ninja Theory, so I don't think there'll be a remaster. I tried SO hard to play that game, but the combat was so button mashy my hand hurt five to ten minutes into every play session. Shame, because everything else about it was so so good. I loved Enslaved: Odyssey to the West by the same devs though.
@@xxTICxxTOCxx it sucks that you couldn't get into it but at least you gave it a try. :) Another thing with the rights of the game is Andy Serkis owns the copyright to the motion capture and the movie they had for the game had to do everything from scratch because of this. So if a remaster did happen we'd need Sony to give the ok, we'd need Ninja Theory to give the ok, Microsoft to give the ok now, as you said, they own Ninja Theory and Andy Serkis to give the ok on the animations and V/O. I can still dream though, bring back Heavenly Sword. :P
Metal Gear and Final Fantasy. Only played through both series (although I haven't still played anything after FF XII) a couple of years ago, and I love them to death. All thanks to my man Rob for convincing me that I have been wrongfully avoiding them. Cheers
More and more I like the tuesday checklist. There is one thing that on this CHANNEL is missing what I would love to see. So many great videogames and topics about them, but there is not a single video on this channel, with the game series STAR OCEAN or the TALES series. I would love to see that in some point. Maybe for the Tales of Series you should play the game TALES OF BERSERIA. It is soo cool. I am only missing one trophy to get platinum and it is like FINAL FANTASY but a bit more extreme because you can do damage attacks with 300.000 and so on. I would love to see that. And when you never heard of this game, play it. It is on PS4 and it's cheap. Tales of Berseria one of the best JRPGs I ever played next to Final Fantasy VIII where I am platinum the remaster right now.
Started Valley. I didn't think I'd like an 8-bit game about farming. But after watching a few gameplay & finding out more about it I gave it a shot & I've fallen in love ever since. The same happened with Skyrim & I have Rob, Dave, & Mate to think for that.
Played Valkyria chronicles Jan 2018, fell in love with it and platiumed the game. bought the fourth one first day Never gotten around to playing Catherine either. Good thing the remaster is coming soon. Will get it this time around
Honestly... it's great to be late to the party in games, movies and books. Cause there is so much catching up to do and you can binge the series in its entirety. Of course for story driven games with no or very little online component that is. And how am I supposed to own a hardcover copy of ASOIAF: Game of Thrones from 1996? I couldn't understand english back then or read.
16:44 Dave is officially my favorite. I feel that game is not praised enough The world building in it is crazy good and the story? Oh lord! Movies (operation enduring victory) and sequels are needed
Hey Rob the audience wants you to carry on with Delsin and Gary Fist story, is that gonna be finished, or is it like doing a game on hard mode and you can't do it!!
Persona. I finished Persona 5 only yesterday and now I regret not getting into the series earlier. And I really can't play any of the older ones now, since I don't have any of the consoles they are available on now.
That first Metal Gear Solid came with the Xenogears demo. Beat 1-4 while my sons mother watched. She enjoyed the story. Yakuza, super addicting and great city exploration. I would just enjoy listening to the crowd of people in the background. I have a few of the titles for that which I never did finish. Only completed the 1st.
The Yakuza series. In September, I was going through my PS3 and I found Yakuza 4, which I had downloaded from PS+ a long time ago. I decided to play it, and as soon as I got to the gameplay, I couldn't believe how good it was, and I said to myself "why didn't anybody tell me that this series is this good?", haha. All everyone ever talks about is the story and that is very off-putting to me. It made me think that maybe the gameplay was awful, but no, it's great! So I immediately stopped playing Yakuza 4, and bought Yakuza 0, so that I could start the series from the beginning. Now, just a week ago I finished Yakuza 3, so I've come full-circle and have worked my way back up to Yakuza 4, having played 0, Kiwami 1 and 2 and then 3. I love this series now.
Metal Gear Solid was released in 1998. All I remembered was I was born in 1990 and completed the game when I was 8 years old, but had to check online to confirm that it was actually released that year. I remember my mother took it from me, because she found it inappropriate for my age. I tried to explain the lack of sense since I had already completed the game twice by that point, but it didn't fly with her lol.
I was super late to 3 games/series: Mass Effect 1-3 and Skyrim because I never had a PS3 or Xbox 360. And the Witcher 3 because I NEVER heard of the Witcher series. But man was I glad I played them! Witcher 3 might be my favorite game of all time.
I'm super late to the party, only started playing video games a little over a year ago at the age of 54. I started with HZD and was hooked! Now I'm immersed in The Witcher 3. I add all your recommendations to my wish list but too many games and so little time!
i'm late II the entire PS4 party cuz i didn't get my PS4 til Oct. 15th of last year(2018).... Sometimes i feel like i'll still b playn catch up by the time the PS5 comes out.... Am havn a total blast playn catch up w/my PS4 thou ~ am truly loving every single moment!!!! Also i still miss Hollie gr8ly ~ she & Rob were always my FAVS ~ but she convincd me II try & play the Yakuza series/games & so was late II the party IV those on both my PS3 & PS4....
I'm late to this video and was also late to Doom. Never played the original (sorry Nate) and was gifted the 2016 remake but didn't touch it for over a year. When I did, wow! I smashed through the whole campaign in one go and spent the next week getting all the collectables, completing the Rune challenges etc. Even managed to complete every difficulty and I never do that, I'm strictly a medium difficulty kind of guy.
I'm late to most parties as I rarely play games when they first come out (Apart from the odd pre order I can't help myself on!) ;) My best late to the party entry is the Bioshock trilogy. Played them for the first time back to back at the end of last year! Loved them!
I have played exactly none of all the game mentioned here; probably because I have been in time for the party exactly two time in my life: for Baldur's Gate and for Pillars of Eternity
oh same, Dave, same. I played MGS3 as my first metal gear and I was like... "what is happening??" played the whole game but didnt get attached to anyone because I had NO IDEA what was going on.
Actually, Aloy's character in the story ended up being a detriment to me in Horzion: Zero Dawn. A good way in I was wondering why there couldn't be a dating sim aspect. Then I remembered that I hate dating sim aspects added to games and pondered why I wanted one in this game. Then it dawned on me, that all the characters that seemed independent before interacting with Aloy seemed almost dependent on her opinions afterward. The only two that seemed to have an even level interaction-wise were Sylens and Nil. Then I remembered that whenever Aloy would disagree with someone, she really never debated the ideas and went into an emotional breakdown to get her way. Afterwards, anyone with a sense of empathy would just bend to her will. Nil and Sylens only remained as the seemingly intellectual equals because they were sociopaths who weren't affected by Aloy's meltdowns.
A game I CAN'T BELIEVE how long it took for me to play is the Devil May Cry series, I started playing it last Thursday on the 21rst and I'm playing through 4 right now and I'm just in love. It has the best combat I've ever experienced and Dante is one of my favorite protagonist EVER.
Story of my life, in my 38 years as a gamer, I don't think I have ever played a game when it was released... Well except Minecraft, (Played the Alpha before it was released, up too this day.) and Stardew Valley, both on PC. I didn't even get a PS4 until 2017 a PS4 Pro, (which I sold a few months after, but got another PS4 Pro in White in March 2019, because my PC died, which I built in 2011... RIP PC.) Which I now have 111 Games for, (digitally sitting on a 6TB external Hard Drive), and I've only played, Little Nightmares, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, (Platinum) Psychonauts, (Platinum) and Firewatch (100%, there is no Platinum for this game... WHY.)... I will get round to them eventually... I hope... At least before I turn 52, next year. Well one game I need to play is Dishonored 2 and DOTO, I love the first one to death, but never started the second... I don't really know why. I just remembered I played Persona 4 when it first came out, I watched Giant Bomb play it, for 2 videos and immediately went out and bought a PS2 Slim just so I could play it, and beat it 2 times in a row, around 140 hours.
Frighteningly relatable video this week. I only "discovered" horizon zero dawn recently and assumed it would be rubbish because everyone says how good it is (I don't know if that's guy logic or what). Now approaching 100 hrs and want to tell people how great this 3 year old game is!
I picked up Dark Souls 1 and 2 a couple months before 3 came out just to see what all the fuss was about. Blew me away, and then I moved on to Bloodborne. Hard to even imagine a pre-Bloodborne existence now.
Dave; If you do ever get round to playing Yakuza 0, keep one thing in mind: It’s a lot of fun, but I couldn’t play 7 games of it back-to-back. It reminds me a little bit of Sleeping Dogs. Not quite as GTA-ey, and certainly a bit more weird. What I’m saying is “I think you’ll enjoy it, but temper expectations.”
Oh, I'm terrible at this. For the most part, I simply can't afford all the games I want, nor do I have the time to play them all. I also tend to get pretty caught up in online multiplayer games, which is fine, but it puts me way behind on the amazing single player story games I want to enjoy. I'm currently finishing up Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, then I'll play Red Dead Redemption 2, then Final Fantasy XV, and after that I've got a whole bunch of acclaimed games I want to get into: Persona 5, Ni No Kuni, Undertale, Dragon Age: Inquisition; I've never played a Metal Gear game, but I've heard I can just jump right into the Phantom Pain, oh and Final Fantasy X (I got the remastered version). There's even a whole bunch more of famous games I've never played and probably just never will: Bioshock, Kingdom Hearts, Dishonored, Resident Evil, God of War, and a whole bunch.
Yakuza is the only PS series I recommend to everyone ever since I just randomly picked up Y3 at a Gamestop. The simple reason I don't recommend other titles is because all other good ones are already hyped to the masses...but no one EVER recommends Yakuza, maybe because it's strictly Japanese through & through.
After hearing Rob talk about Metal Gear Solid for so long and playing a bit of Metal Gear Solid 5 I thought I should probably play the rest of them, and gosh darn, I wish I played them sooner. I love the series so much after playing it for the first time (apart from brief time with MGS5) a month ago I've played through the story of all the mainline games. I must admit I've already beaten MGS3 4 times, I love all the characters(Even Raiden) and the story, and now I wish there were more to play.
I was rather late to Everybody's Gone To The Rapture. And I can honestly say I haven't been so captivated by a game in a long time. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture does such a grand job of creating a creepy and lonely atmosphere, not only that, it has an insanely brilliant narrative, coupled with stunning graphics. For the past few days I could have gone outside and witnessed the British countryside, in person. I instead was immersed in this masterpiece so much that'd I'd rather have done it through my TV screen, which I did. This game does a great job of recognising how beautiful this country is! Get it played if you've got the time. If you've got a life, put that down and try Everybody's Gone To The Rapture!!

I'm the same with refusing to play things because people tell me I'll like it, but DUDE, Horizon is so awesome. Everyone should play it.
I was late to the party with;
Fallout
The Witcher
God of War
Devil May Cry
Assassin's Creed
MGS
A lot of things
We demand Metal Gear Stupid 2!!!! This time Rosie and Rob can be watching it would be amazing!
i was actually late to Borderlands 2, but i ended up totally loving it! So glad i decided to buy that game!
Horizon Zero Dawn is just an amazing game
Jimmy Spoiler seeping out of Rob at 3:25, for the people who are really late to the undertale party
Rob! I picked up Ni No Kuni 2 at your recommendation, can't wait to play it. And now, I'm hooked on Persona 5 here on youtube (also thanks to you fine people here!) and can't wait to pick that up as well!
What became of Edith Finch was my late to the party game
I'm playing Yakuza Kiwami now and I love it!! Thanks, Playstation Access. You guys are dolls!
Great to see you back Nath
Uncharted, Bioshock, Mass Effect and the list goes on, mostly because I've been on a break from consoles since the N64 until the end of 2017.
Started Valley. I didn't think I'd like an 8-bit game about farming. But after watching a few gameplay & finding out more about it I gave it a shot & I've fallen in love ever since. The same happened with Skyrim & I have Rob, Dave, & Mate to think for that.
Nier: Automata, Horizon Zero Dawn, (currently playing) God of War, and P5.
So God tier playstation exclusives? minus nier
That's an OP line up.👍😲
I have beaten Nier and P5, just was way late to game, but now working on Horizon. Just got past the proving ceremony.
Played Valkyria chronicles Jan 2018, fell in love with it and platiumed the game. bought the fourth one first day
Never gotten around to playing Catherine either.
I feel that game is not praised enough
The world building in it is crazy good and the story? Oh lord! Movies (operation enduring victory) and sequels are needed
Hey Rob the audience wants you to carry on with Delsin and Gary Fist story, is that gonna be finished, or is it like doing a game on hard mode and you can't do it!!
bwahahaha.... try reverse psychology.... nah he wont do it.... he cant do it... its too hard for him... pfft its not like we want to know anyway
Please understand there is NEVER too late to play a good game :)
have fun get the good game and play it
Persona. I finished Persona 5 only yesterday and now I regret not getting into the series earlier. And I really can't play any of the older ones now, since I don't have any of the consoles they are available on now.
@@goofed86 Same. I almost bought a PS2 just for it. (And maybe persona 3, but man is that expensive nowadays)
@@Jodsalz16 PCSX2, google it.
For me it's the Yakuza series I've just finished Yakuza 0 & I'm now moving onto Yakuza Kawami
This makes me feel a lot better about just getting around to both Metro Reduxes and Titanfall 2 in the last month
The updated banner photo at the end, Rob looks like the frustrated father who is like "do I have to look after you all the bloody time!"
I read A Game of Thrones in 2006. Does it count, Rob?
Horizon zero Dawn is the next game I'm playing after I finish the Witcher 3
I am soooo glad i found your channel late, so expect a ton of back-log likes. Love from GA
i'm late II the entire PS4 party cuz i didn't get my PS4 til Oct.
My first Unchartered was 4. Then i immediatly bought and completed 1 to 3 hd remasters. Epic series, cant believe i missed it initially.
I'm late to most parties as I rarely play games when they first come out (Apart from the odd pre order I can't help myself on!) ;)
My best late to the party entry is the Bioshock trilogy.
I was definitely late to the Dragon Age party!! I’ve just finished DAO and DA2 and I’m on my second playthrough of DAI!!
I only played MGS for the first time about a year and a half ago after wanting to know what Rob was always on about. You’re right Rob, you are right
I am late to this video! But I too also played Yakuza because of how well Hollie talked it up, and I did not regret it!
Still have kiwami seating there from the ps+ but I'm a bit afraid of the trophies (time).
Join us next time when Rosie suddenly sprouts red hair and talks about her love of Final fantasy VIII :P
Hopefully she starts talking like a human being as well.
@@sladestockill5391 Hopefully you start acting like a human being soon, otherwise I fear for where life may lead you.
Fye fantasy
Frighteningly relatable video this week. I only "discovered" horizon zero dawn recently and assumed it would be rubbish because everyone says how good it is (I don't know if that's guy logic or what). Now approaching 100 hrs and want to tell people how great this 3 year old game is!
I picked up Dark Souls 1 and 2 a couple months before 3 came out just to see what all the fuss was about. Blew me away, and then I moved on to Bloodborne. Hard to even imagine a pre-Bloodborne existence now.
Dave;
If you do ever get round to playing Yakuza 0, keep one thing in mind: It’s a lot of fun, but I couldn’t play 7 games of it back-to-back. It reminds me a little bit of Sleeping Dogs. Not quite as GTA-ey, and certainly a bit more weird. What I’m saying is “I think you’ll enjoy it, but temper expectations.”
Oh Rosie ! Man im happy for her to be with the access team !
