A very impressive parade. I think there’s a couple of sprogs in the Young Guard out of step though. Extra drill all round. I look forward to seeing this lot in action.
Cant wait for you to get back to using this collection! Im working with my third Young guard battalion but I have the figures for a fourth as well. Five old guard battalions are waiting in the drawer too😁
Always up for a game, perhaps sometime post lockdown, looks like you have the tables coming on well 😀, they already travel around the country a fair bit to find the space to get them out.....although I worry about the cars suspension there is so much lead now! 😀😀
Love the collection! Its really hard to find scenarios without involving the russians - I agree on that!. only options id see spontaniously - would be the engagement of Salinas 1810/11 vs british lights & spanish guerilla (Involving fusiliers chasseurs & conscripts of the young guard - I do not have much information on that one) and maybe the attack on the Grand Garden at Dresden 1813 - where Roths Russians Division got driven out by the advancing young guard division 1. under Mortier. The Guard then getting Countercharged by Pirchs Prussian Division & getting reinforced by the second young guard division & companys of the 44th and old guard forcing the prussians to flee the Garden - Both arguably smale size battles in General D'Armee meassures so i dont really know if this could make a fun scenaryo playing
High Mark, I usually manage about a battalion a month, sometimes two depending on family commitments and the complexity of the uniforms...there are three “brigades” of four battalions each so 432 guard (omg really ..... never worked it out before) plus another 20 or so for the commanders and guard foot artillery.......thanks for commenting and keep watching, cheers JP 😀
Very impressive sight, I’m in the middle of painting my first old guard (Victrix) and it’s a slog, seeing this lot makes me wonder how you find the time and keep the same standards with the same quality in the bases. Great job
It’s a great way to de stress after work and during lock down I ve been travelling less so it’s been a bit more manageable, I try and do an hour each evening just having to manage Charlie whose wanting me to paint his space marines 😮😀😀
Pleaseee a video on how you paint your french! i'm new to Napoleonics and I feel that my work is just slop compared to this. I'm not even a new painter, ive painted several Space Marine, Bolt action, Fantasy humans and Imperial Guard armies over the years. Fantastic collection!
Thanks very much. Great to see your having ago at some Napoleonics, like you I graduated from 40k quite a few years ago now. I,ll think about one but I think it will be a bit long and not too exciting! Just lots of practice and a steady hand, I use a three colour system and a mixture of paints, I started with Citadel from GW but now mainly use foundry’s three paint system and Vallejo as I prefer dropper bottles, less wasted paint……good luck JP
Fantastic French army !Vive la Grand armee ! Can see so many dozens of hours passed on . Impressive work for a brilliant result .Good to discover your channel and subscribe to it .
Great collection and great paint job! Are you painting all your self? Hopefully the will be better trade agreements and postal service between the UK and the rest of Europa soon, so it will be possible to order more toys. I always wanted the chasseurs standing casually. 😁
I agree I love those figures, always been tempted to do some as a vignette, did order a board game from France a couple of weeks ago and it came through fine, but duty seems a bit random and everything’s suddenly more expensive....😕😕, hope you get the Chasseurs, cheers JP 😀😀
Hi, I’ve got some but I started my army to fight Quatre bras so I only have guard light cavalry, the lancers and Chasseurs and a horse battery, and I have quite a bit of existing french heavy with 4 regiments of cuiassiers/carabiners and two of Dragoons so I havnt done the heavies...one day perhaps, cheers JP 😀 and good luck with your guard 🤞🤞
Ahh monsieur JP, cest magnifique, vive le Empereur!!, en avant le guard... they look amazing, eehhhh, I see what your doing trying to entice me into painting more guard sir, well i shall resist, resist i tell you, buuut they do look ssoooo good, oh maybe 1 more unit then, mmmmm, kind regards Iain....ssooooo nice....
Hi J P, Beautiful work, inspired me to make a start on the imperial guard! Would you be able to tell me which blues you used for the greatcoats? Thanks.
Hi, thanks for looking, I’m afraid it’s a while ago and the paints are in storage in the UK. At the time I was using GW citadel paints, and I tend to use a three colour approach to all shading. Sorry I can’t be more help. jp
Well done jp. I don't have any French but a very large British army 50bns. But I do like your paint work very impressed almost but not quite getting to the point of melting down my British and going to play Roman's. Not..
No never....now doing Romans as well that might be the answer....(l have a few....mid imperials and Sassanids were the passion pre this lot!! ....now that was a while ago....) cheers JP 😀😀
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video, I recon on about an hour a figure, and I average about one battalion a month, sometime more if I’m feeling a bit manic 😀😀
Great collection . You are a fantastic painter - such high consistency on the figures and basing .
A very impressive parade. I think there’s a couple of sprogs in the Young Guard out of step though. Extra drill all round. I look forward to seeing this lot in action.
Not long to wait, thanks very much and keep watching 😀😀😀
Great troops you painted there. Love them!
Thanks

A great looking collection, inspiration indeed. Move to Surrey!

Thanks very much, I think I’ve got a book on Dresden, really good tip I’ll try and research that one...really appreciate the feedback, cheers JP 😀
Looks fantastic! Curious about how many hours did it take you to assemble and paint all these figures. And how many figures here?

Very nice. Inspiring stuff.
Thanks very much, hope it inspires a few more guard units..😀😀
Impressive collection mate. Given how hard they fight just put them up against a couple of regiments of Landwehr!
I’m sure that will happen soon 😀😀😀 and knowing Charlie they’ll take a hammering 🙃🙃, thanks for watching, cheers JP

A superb collection of Imperial Guard👍. I think the only thing missing would be a nice band for them 😀. Looking forward to the 100th game.
Thanks, hope you enjoy the next video, appreciate the comments, cheers JP
Good lord that's an almighty sight. One day I will get my Victrix guard minis stuck together and painted, but they are deep in the pile of shame!
We all have our pile of shame 😀😀, good luck with the guard, 🤞🤞
The figures do you credit, a real dedication to do these!
Much appreciated, thanks for watching 😀😀
They look amazing, what Guard Cavalry do you have to fight alongside them ?
I am just looking for ideas of balance for my own.

Love your style, and in such impressive numbers! How long did it take you to reach such a steady level of quality?
It’s not always the case...... I can get too focused on just getting a unit done... but then I just get the bug again...😀😀😉
Great work JP, but where’s the sexy Guard cavalry?
Afraid I don’t have the full set! I started collecting Quatre Bras so have some lights but that’s all, perhaps my next project 😉😀😀 cheers JP
Very nice JP
Thanks very much, cheers JP 😀😀
